Think of the Children Project
The project is a mass-deviantArtist collaboration in making a Tarot Card deck. However, due to complications regarding printing (as there are next to no printers willing to print an odd 78 numbered deck), the deck might OR might not be printed as an ARTBOOK at lulu.com instead.
If you know anywhere that might print 78 cards, PLEASE contact Jieyi.
The project is a non-profit project among dA?s artists with all proceeds going towards a children?s charity to help those in need. The idea was initially pitched by Jieyi with the idea supplied earlier by Nolavon and with charity proposals by AsinineFlux.
As of present, the two children?s charities being considered are World Vision and UNICEF. The profits made will be sent via PayPal to either charity or split between both if enough is made. Profits made from the Tarot project will be sent every month as the money is received. The finalized project would be available for sale on the Internet internationally.
The project deadline has been extended indefinitely.
Guidelines for participating artists [PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING]
- There is no exact theme to the project. Feel free to use your own style, your own character, and your own colors.
- There is a requirement of at least one HUMANOID in the drawing. Doesn?t matter what gender or style used to draw. The human may have animal ears but please keep those to a bear minimum and no full-fledged anthros please. (This is to preserve uniformity throughout the project)
- There is no limitation on colors. It can be as colorful as you like. Black and white is not recommended; full color is preferred.
- NO OEKAKI PLEASE. Oekaki images are far too small.
- NO FANART PLEASE. Please try to use your own characters instead of copyrighted characters from series. (Since this might contradict copyright laws; messy business)
- There will be a border placed around the image once that border has been completed. Jieyi will finalize the bordering and add text on the cards when they are completed by the artist. Border drawn by Nolavon.
- Please have some sort of background, not just a single flat color.
- The image does not have to be digital, although that would be preferred.
- The image MUST BE AT LEAST 200DPI (dots per inch) at a 2:1 ratio. That means the image must not be smaller than 1200pixels wide by 2400pixels long (images may be larger; preferred)! This is very important to ensure high quality prints. PLEASE KEEP TO THE 2:1 RATIO. The length of your image must be twice the size of the width.
If the image is a traditional work, please scan it as a high quality, high DPI count scan and edit it to look as clean as possible. (If you need any help with this, feel free to contact Jieyi)
When you are finished with your card, please send the high quality, full sized, either .jpg or .psd [whichever is more convenient for you] file to Jieyi at RHEXE@HOTMAIL.COM
IF THERE IS ANY REASON AS TO WHY YOU CANNOT COMPLETE AN IMAGE [ON TIME OR AT ALL], PLEASE CONTACT JIEYI BEFOREHAND SO ADJUSTMENTS MAY BE MADE.
