On June 27, 2003, Animal Forest e+ (Doubutsu no Mori e+) was released in Japan. When Animal Forest + was undergoing development to be released in English, Nintendo of America added some features that impressed Nintendo of Japan. Many of these features, such as e-reader capabilites, were added to a Japanese version of the game. A few more additions were added to the game, and Animal Forest e+ was released in Japan.
