Diet Pill Diary
I bought some diet pills yesterday. They are my first experience
with them. I bought Metabolift by Twinlabs for about $13.00 for 90 pills.
I liked these diet pills because I know exactly what all the ingredients
are. There are no surprises. They don't put in a lot of extra crap to
confuse you. Basically each pill contains 20 mg ephedrine alkaloids
(if you aren't familiar with ephedrine dosage then basically 40 - 100
mg is normal. You don't want to exceed 100 mg in a 24 hour period),
200 mg herbal caffeine (1 cup of coffee = 50 - 150 mg of caffeine. i've
taken as much as 1000 mg from NoDoze pills in one sitting), and 150
mcg of chromium picolinate ( 200 - 800 mg is normal for chromium picolinate
pills. i took 600 mg a day for a while but didn't see a difference).
i have often heard that diet pills don't work and so i am going to leave
a diary about my experience with them. i think next time i will try
a different brand and compare them. that is unless these things work
really well and i just want to stick with them. we'll see.
Day 1
9:30 am – 4 oz orange juice – 60 calories
9:45 am – weight: 126.6 lbs. body fat: 25.1 % (is usually higher
in the morning)
9:47 am – took 1 metabolift (20 milligrams of ephedrine, 200 milligrams
of caffeine, and 150 mcg of chromium)
10:10 am – 6 oz. nonfat yogurt – 90 calories
10:20 am – after eating the yogurt i felt rather full. But I could
eat more if I wanted to.
10:30 am – took a nap until 12:00. guess that caffeine isn’t
doing much.
12:00 pm – woke up from my nap. felt nauseous (kind of difficult
to determine if it is from the diet pills or just hunger)
12:35 pm – 1 fat-free popsicle – 60 calories
2:15 pm – weight: 126.2 (lost 4 tenths! yay!) body fat: 23.3 %
(probably just because i am more hydrated)
2:30 pm – feel perfectly fine. my leg shakes at the computer and
I talk kind of fast, but other than that i feel completely normal. i
am debating taking another pill.
2:45 pm – weight: 126.2 body fat: 22.7%. took another metabolift.
my hands are shaky. my leg still shakes at the computer. otherwise i
feel perfectly normal. i am happy that i have lost 4 tenths too. i want
to eat about 300 calories a day and lose ½ to 1 pound every day.
so far i have almost met my goal for today.
3:30ish – my hands got very shaky. this made it very difficult
to put on makeup. oh well. i hope my mother doesn’t notice. i
mean she will wonder what it is.
4:40 pm – weight: 125.6 (yay! i’ve lost a whole pound! i
love these diet pills!) body fat: 21.1% (probably because i am dehydrated)
5:00 pm - i am feeling kind of tired. i guess the caffeine has worn
off and now i am crashing. i am happy that i have lost so much weight
though. my hands are still shaking like crazy and my leg is still shaking,
but not as bad as before. i have gotten so much done today though because
i have had a ton of energy. i cleaned my room and i did all my laundry
that i had from when i was in the hospital. jesus, that must have burned
some calories.
6:15 pm - had 1/2 cup corn for dinner - 75 calories
9:00 pm - weight: 125.0 (yay!) body fat: 20.0 %. i am actually getting
pretty tired. i was worried that i would have trouble sleeping with
the diet pills but that doesn't seem to be a problem. i love these things

Day 2
5:40 am - wake up. do hair and makeup. forget to weigh myself.
6:30 am - have 2 oz. pineapple juice (40 cals) with one metabolift and 150 mg of effexor (an antidepressant)
2:15 pm - have one orange (75 cals), with a diet coke (0 cals), and a metabolift.
5:30 pm - bad news. we ate dinner at Soup Plantation. I had a salad and a small bowl of soup. Still the salad was probablty like 200 calories, plus i had a bite of my mom's potato salad which was probably like another 100 calories and then i had some noodles and broth which is probably like another 80 calories. bleh. still, i was really full after that.
9:45 pm - weight - 123.8 (yay!) body fat: 21.0

Day 3
7:20 am - wake up (school starts at 9:00 today. weight: 122.6 (yay!) body fat: 24.6. take 1 metabolift and 187.5 mg effexor.
12:00 pm - get VERY tired. wish i had another metabolift. walk around the school to burn calories since i have no friends to eat lunch with after breaking up with my boyfriend. debate buying a drink since i think i am dehydrated but they don't have diet. get a drink from the nasty drinking fountain. bleh. it almost made me gag.
3:00 pm - get home. weight: 121.6 (wow!!!!) body fat: 21.0 %. take another metabolift.
5:00 pm - get really tired and take another metabolift for the energy. eat a popsicle - 60 calories
5:30 - 6:30 pm - dance
6:45 pm - buy a diet coke from a store down the street from my dance studio. hang out till 7:30
7:30 - 8:30 pm - more dance
8:45 pm - come home. drink a gallon of water. AFTER drinking (stupid) weight: 122.8 (bleh) body fat: 22.4%
