Eighteen years ago, I decided that I wanted to live in the United States, where I could succeed in any career path I might choose. For a low income Junior High School student in México, this was a lofty ambition. After a few years of working and saving money, I finally boarded a plane to the States to finish High School and continue my education. I had achieved the goal that I set for myself: I was in America, to determine my life's path.

As a student born and raised abroad, it takes courage and optimism to move to another country, to study and work at the same time in a culture radically different from one's own.

With an Engineering major in California State University, I developed excellent analytical skills and improved my problem-solving ability, but I never had the opportunity to  obtain knowledge exploring business strategy, finance or international market forces and to realize my career goal, I clearly must enhance my abilities in these as well as other  areas of business. Through the Master of Business Administrtion & Engineering (MBA&E) program at FHTW- Fachhochschule fuer Technik und Wirtschaft in Berlin, provided me with a broad and well-grounded knowledge to enhance and develop my capabilities by building on this foundation  

Although my experience in engineering and management I have accumulated both in Germany and in the USA during my years of working experience has been challenging and rewarding, it is in México that I aspire to make my greatest personal and professional contributions. Regretfully, the Mexican economic situation has been characterized by a state of national crisis and disorder. The country’s need for economic development is tremendous. While many attempts have been made, the current situation has been a strong deterrent. It is within this convoluted environment that I intend to apply my business and engineering skills and knowledge. As a Mexican, I do not see any other role I can play with more passion or desire.

Now that I returned to México, my reaction is very different from when I was a kid living here. Instead of feeling confused by a radically different  environment, I am leverage the education I received to conduct business with the insight of a native resident.

I have made the best of a unique opportunity and I will continue to take calculated risks as they come along in life. I may be aiming high with my career objectives, but I have learned from my life thus far, that I am capable of achieving my dreams if I set my mind to it.
