Poison Types

Poison Type moves are super effective against Grass Type Pokemon and are immune to the poison condition. This means that Toxic won't work on any Poison Type. Poison Pokemon can learn Toxic themselves and let their opponent lose HP little by little. Toxic also worsens an opponent's condition. Poison Pokemon can learn Sludge Bomb and many specialize in Attack. As with all Pokemon, Poison Pokemon have their weaknesses, namely, Ground and Psychic moves. But many Poison Pokemon also have the Levitate ability thus making Earthquake completely useless!


Arbok is a standard Poison type that has better Defense and Special Defense stats than Seviper. Arbok evolves from Ekans that you can find in many places in Pokemon FireRed.


Golbat may not seem much but this poison type can be hard to beat. Golbat is a Flying and Poison type and can use Air Cutter. Golbat evolves from Zubatthat can be found in almost any cave. Golbat evolves into Crobat with lots of care and love and will only evolve if you trade it over to Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald if you have Pokemon LeafGreen/FireRed.


Tentacool is an interesting Water and Poison Type. It can prevent an opponent from stealing its item and learn Surf. I guess you've seen many Tentacool while surfing in the Pokemon RPG games so you know where to find it. Tentacool may seem slow but it is faster than you think. Tentacool evolves into Tentacruel.


Seviper has interestingly low Defense and Special Defense stats and will be KOed by any Psychic or Earthquake if you don't watch out. Seviper can learn Poison Tail and can't evolve. You can find one in the grasses by Lanette's house(by Fallarbor Town).


Quilfish is a Water and Poison Pokemon that can bloat itself up. You will find it handy throughout your journey since it can learn Surf. You can find one in Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen(use your Pokedex).
