Pokemon XD

Pokemon XD is a game for Nintendo Game Cube. The objective of the game is for you to snag all of the shadow Pokemon and purify them. There are 83 Pokemon to be snagged and purified. You may meet shiny Pokemon in Pokemon XD.

The Question of Shiny Lugia

Many people have asked the question, "Can we tell a shiny Lugia and a regular Lugia apart?" This question has been in long debate because in Pokemon XD, Lugia is also known as XD001 and cannot be purified so easily. It is also unlike other shadow Pokemon you find in the game. For how to catch Lugia, go to this link. I asked friends and went onto other people's forums. I found a disappointing answer(namely, No) everywhere I looked, but I thought something was strange. There were posts that said things like "The first time, I meet a shiny Lugia but I didn't catch it." and "I caught a shiny Lugia after resetting 100 times." If the posts and the answers I received from asking other people were both true, there would be a contradiction. I finally realized the answer when I asked Manjyome. He told me that you can tell a shiny Lugia apart and if not, he wouldn't have caught one in Pokemon XD. Manjyome went further and told me that the letters spelling out Lugia would apear in Gold when you battled it. Therefore, the mystery is solved and the answer is an optimistic "Yes!" And if you don't know why, you need to read the above sentences or ask Manjyome. In that case, he will just regard your letter as spam.

The Question of the Female Eevee

Many people have also asked whether they could get a female Eevee in Pokemon XD. Getting a female Eevee in regular games(Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/LeafGreen/FireRed) is already very rare. Everytime you get an Eevee, the chances of it being female is 12.5%(or some other low number). Some people have tried to get one and never found one in all of their resettings. Fortunately I didn't have to ask Manjyome this time because I got myself a female Eevee by resetting 3 times. Therefore, it is possible.
