Book Water, Chapter 1, The Boy In The Iceberg

After being captured in an iceberg for 100 years, Aang is freed from the ice when Katara, a 14 year old girl from the Southern Water Tribe, accidently releases him. After Katara and her brother, a 15 year old from the Southern Water Tribe named Sokka get to know him, they realize that Aang is an airbender. But not just any airbender, Aang is actually the Avatar, a person the world has been waiting for to return for 100 years.

Book Water, Chapter 2, The Avatar Returns

Just as disaster is about to hit the Southern Water Tribe, Aang is banished from the village. After being gone for a couple of hours, Aang sees a Fire Navy ship heading towards the village, meaning trouble. But as Prince Zuko comes and attacks the village Aang returns and saves everyone from getting hurt, only to make sure the village won't be harmed, Aang has to go with Zuko.

Book Water, Chapter 3, The Southern Airtemple

While Aang, Katara, and Sokka are on they're way to the Northern Water Tribe, they stop by Aang's old home, the Southern Air Temple. Although Aang is excited to see it again, he realizes that it isn't the same anymore like it used to be. When the war began, the Southern Air Temple was attacked, and there wasn't anymore airbenders, and Aang didn't know that. But as Aang is in the Southern Air Temple, he finds his old teacher, Monk Gyatso's skeleton, causing himself to go into the Avatar state. Meanwhile Prince Zuko meets up with Zhao, and challenges him to an Agni Kai. Although Zuko lost his last Agni Kai, he makes sure he wins against Zhao.

Book Water, Chapter 4, Warriors of Kyoshi

As Aang stops by Kyoshi Island to show Katara and Sokka the Giant Koi Fish, Aang and the gang get captured by Kyoshi Warriors, and close behind them Zuko is following to try and capture Aang again. Once the people of Kyoshi realize tha Aang is the Avatar, they honor him and give him the royal treatment. But just as things are getting good, Zuko attacks Kyoshi destroys the town.

Book Water, Chapter 5, The King of Omashu

Aang and the gang go to Omashu, only to be captured by the king. As the King of Omashu puts Aang to some tests, he realizes that the king is actually his old friend Bumi, who Aang knew before the war ever started, when Aang used to come to Omashu and play in the packaging shutes with Bumi.

Book Water, Chapter 6, Imprisoned

When Aang, Katara, and Sokka go to an Earth Kingdom town, they meet Haru, a boy who can earthbend, which is strictly forbidden in the town they live in. But when an old man gets trapped in a collapsing gold mine, Katara persuades Haru to earthbend the old man out. At nightfall, the old man turns Haru into the Fire Nation, and his only hope of making it out is Katara and her courage. But as she's on the Fire Navy ship to rescue Haru, her necklace falls off and the person to find it was Zuko.

Book Water, Chapter 7, The Spirit World: Winter Solstice Part 1

Aang and the gang go to an Earth Nation town to help out with their spirit monster problem. As Aang awaits for the spirit monster to come at sunset, he gets attacked and Sokka is taken by the monster. But a couple hours away, Zuko's Uncle Iroh is taken in by an Earth Nation troup and is held prisoner, and Zuko has to come and rescue him before they take Iroh to Ba Sing Se.

Book Water, Chapter 8, Avatar Roku: Winter Solstice Part 2

Aang, Katara, and Sokka go to the cresent shaped island in the Fire Nation, where Avatar Roku's dragon took Aang when he was in the spirit world. But close behind them Zuko and Zhao are following to capture Aang before he contacts Avatar Roku. As they wait for the light to hit Avatar Roku's statue, the time that Aang can talk to him, they can't get the sanctuary doors open by themselves.
