The Character's of Avatar
Aang the Avatar
"Just shift your weight through the stances."
Aang is a 12 year old boy who's destiny is to save the world from destruction. He's the Avatar, the person the world has waited for to return for 100 years. He was stuck in an iceberg until Katara and Sokka freed him by accident. Now he's out to save the world from the Fire Nation and reunited the four bending nations to what they once used to be.
Katara The Waterbender
"Push and pull the water, like this."
Katara is a 14 year old girl who's traveling the world with Aang and her older brother. Her mission was to find a waterbending master at the North Pole, and to help Aang fulfill his destiny. Now that she's mastered water, now she's all about helping Aang save the world. She has alot of hope and courage, and knows the right time to use it. Although she may have a bit of an attitude when people get her mad, she's still a great friend to have around on their journey.
Sokka the Warrior
"It's a giant mushroom, maybe it's friendly!"
Sokka is Katara's 15 year old brother and the oldest in the group. He has a huge appetite when it comes to food, and doesn't trust many people at first sight. Although in the latest episodes he's been quite crazy and humorous, he can also be very serious when it comes to fighting and the war. His favorite things to do are mostly sleeping and eating, but if danger is near he'll always stand up and fight with his friends.
Toph The Blind Earthbender
"People see me, and think I'm weak. They want to take care of me, but I can take care of myself, by myself."
Toph is a blind girl who joined the group to teach Aang earthbending. She is quite a fighter, and can do some serious damage with her earthbending. She is quite selfish most of the time though, but having friends like Aang, Katara, and Sokka really seem to be changing her. Although she is blind, she actually sees with her feet and can tell where everything is by by the vibrations in the earth. Pretty cool, huh?
Zuko, the Prince of the Fire Nation
"Three years ago today I was banished, I lost it all."
Zuko is 16 years old and the prince of the Fire Nation. He was banished and sent to capture the Avatar, but nobody has seen the Avatar for 100 years. Now the Avatar's back, and Zuko has been trying to catch Aang ever since. Now in the newest episodes him and his uncle aren't looking for the Avatar, but little do the know Aang is actually in the same city they're in.
Iroh the Firebending Master
"Power in firebending comes from the breath, not the muscle."
Iroh is the Fire Lord's brother, and Zuko's firebending teacher. Iroh taught him all of the firebending that Zuko knows and is still teaching him. Iroh is alot different than most firebenders, he has a good heart and doesn't do much in the way of fighting, unless there is danger. He can be quite funny sometimes, especially when he sings.
Aang's Old Guardian, Monk Gyatso
"When you are old enough he will reveal himself to you."
Monk Gyatso was Aang's guardian and airbending teacher before Aang was frozen in the iceberg. When Aang went missing, Monk Gyatso was killed along with the rest of the airbenders, and now the only airbender left is Aang. Monk Gyatso was Aang's favorite teacher and was devistated when he found out what happened to him.
Suki the Kyoshi Warrior
"I am a warrior, but I'm a girl too."
Suki is the leader of the Kyoshi Warriors and is helping fight in the war. She has a huge crush on Sokka, and just met up with the gang again in one of the previous episodes. Many think she isn't tough because she's a girl, but she can actually take down almost anyone who comes in her way, even if she isn't a bender.
Bumi the King of Omashu
"You have to open your mind to the possibilities."
King Bumi was one of Aang's friends before Aang was in the iceberg. Now he's become the King of Omashu, but he still hasn't changed much. He's still as goofy as ever, only now he's not Aang's age anymore. When Aang visited Omashu again with Aang and Katara, King Bumi wouldn't teach Aang earthbending like he hoped. He told Aang that he needed a earthbending teacher that listens to the ground, and that's exactly what Aang found.
Avatar Kyoshi
"I created Kyoshi Island so my people could be safe from invaders."
Avatar Kyoshi is one of Aang's passed lives, and the creater of Kyoshi Island. She is a very powerful bender, and was one of the Avatar's before Aang. In Kyoshi they now have a statue of Kyoshi made to honor her and how she saved their island from a terrible tyrant.
Haru the Earthbender
"Thank you for bringing my father back to me. I never thought I'd see him again."
Haru is an earthbender the team met while traveling. Haru's father was taken away from him by the Fire Nation, and all of the earthbending he knows his father taught him. He's not allowed to earthbend where he lives, but that all changes when Katara brings hope back into everyone.
