The New Horizon

Man lives within a limited horizon, limited by ignorance, inertia, inconscience, falsehood, darkness, divisions, diseases, and death. This has been so, since Man has appeared on the earthly scene, since the Homo Neanderthal stepped on earth. 

However, he has been growing in spite of all these limitations. He lives with a Hope, with a Spirit that has been fighting against ignorance and darkness, diseases and death, against all his difficulties, problems and shortcomings. He has come from the forest civilization to the civilizations of the Vedas, of the pyramids and the sphinx, of Harappa and Mohenjodaro, of Babylon, and from those moments to the One World civilization of the twenty-first century, It is also seen that Man has tried from the very beginning to grow some Faith and Belief in a Higher Consciousness and Force, Who has been his Source and also his Help and Guide to lead him onwards against all these odds, trials and problems, whether personal or social. And the result is his culture and civilization, his advancement in science and philosophy, his search of truth, beauty and goodness, of satyam-shivam-sundaram, his progress in spirituality. 

Man is a mental being and, according to Sri Aurobindo, a transitional being. The human history is a story of a constant change and growth. But what he is now is a temporary phase, because his arrival on earth is a promise of a better, higher and much more conscious existence on earth. There will be the advent of a being who will have conquest over ignorance and darkness and inertia, over divisions and all mental barriers, over the so-called fate and uncertainties, over diseases and death. Te limitations of the present horizons will be broken, and man will pass on to The New Horizon. He shall have to pass onwards accordingly, or else he will have to face the Abyss. Man has to evolve into a higher being with a manifested divinity. This is the New Vision given to us by Sri Aurobindo and Mira Alfassa, whom we know as The Mother.

In order to march ahead towards The New Horizon, towards a world of a Higher Consciousness and Force and Joy, we shall have to believe in human progress and evolution. Man has the innate capacity to outgrow and master all his imperfections and darkness, and he should develop this and grow into a creative, constructive and divinized higher being.

The human society should also grow accordingly and conquer all darkness within and without, surpassing all racial, religious, linguistic, political and other artificial barriers. 

Sri Aurobindo has said:  

’Nature shall live to manifest secret God,

The Spirit shall take up the human play,

The earthly life become the life divine.’ 

Man has now the need to develop and increase his innate capacity to outgrow and master all his imperfections and darkness and grow into a creative, constructive and divinized higher being. The human society should also have to grow accordingly and conquer all darkness within and without, surpassing all racial, religious, linguistic, political and other artificial barriers, divisions and

obstructions.
