Over the weekend the bennington wiffleball league competed in the 2nd annual Blue Bulls tournament.  The team consisted of Sam Webster, Alex Webster, Scott Legacy, Dylan Mone, Zach Lebarron, Luke Darwell, Bruce Weinfurt, Zach Weinfurt and Toran Granger.  The Bennington Bombers went a ok 1-2 with a win over the defending champs.  The Bombers won 6-5 with a heart stopping finish.  The Bombers got two quick outs in the final inning.  Alex said after the game "It just seemed to easy, and i was like this cant be it".  And it wasnt with an error by Luke the runner got on base then the next better hit a two run homer which made it 6-5. Then after a quick team metting at the mound the Bombers where right back on their high.  Then a miss played ball in center by bruce put another runner on.  Then ther was another error and another hit and all the sudden the bases were loaded with two outs and the tying runner about 30 feet away.  It seemed like the wheels were falling off and it was about time to go home.  On the next pitch there was a ground ball hit to third and lebarron bobbled it and then picked it up dive to third and touched the bag on a collision with dylan, Lebarron and the base runner all piled up on lebarron who got the final out.  That is to know the biggest upset ever at the Blue Bulls tournament.  Leading the way offensivley in that game was Scott Legacy who hit two homeruns and had five rbi's, with one of his homers being a grand slam.  "I have to give credit to Dylan Mone who batted before me and kept the inning going setting the table for me".  Dylan also had some good plays on defense along with Bruce Weinfurt.  The two games we lost were to the same team who beat the Bombers 9-5 and 4-1.  Also coming up big this weekend with the bat was Alex webster who had two home runs of his own, Bruce Weinfurt who went 5-8 having a hit in every game, And Luke Darwell who had 1 hr and pitched great with an ear just under 4.5.  Sam webster and Dylan Mone also had rbi's of there own.  The Bombers had great defensive plays from Dylan Mone, Bruce Weinfurt and Zach Lebarron who only had 1 hand to play with.  Toran Granger who just played solid on both defensive and offensive who didnt really make any mistakes at all and almost made a highlight reel catch slamming into the wall. And Zach Weinfurt who had one timely hit in game two.  The Bennington wiffleball League will be back under way on next weekend.
