The fundamental right of the workers i.e Right to organize have been trampled in Bhutan. As a result sizeable portion of the workers remain unorganized inside Bhutan. However, since the formation of BGWU efforts are underway to take care of all the workers who are of concern to BGWU both within and outside the country.
Bhutan Garment Workers' Union have been formed unanimously on ---August 2000 by the consortium of workers who have gathered in Birtamod, Jhapa (Nepal). This organization takes care of the following category of workers.
