Musical Project

9/10/06: The site has been trimmed of a lot of fat. It is an eDiet. Who even checks this thing anymore anyways!?

5/11/06:
New songs up in the music section. A new world on the horizon.

3/21/06:
I have uploaded songs and they are up in the music section. Hopefully the transfer rates are acceptable for you pigs.

3/3/06:
Transfer rates on this Freeweb's server seem to be up, so i might start hosting files on this site again. We'll see what happens, pigs. Until then enjoy this video: Just Like You Imagined (Interrupted).

3/1/06:
Nearly five months since an update on the front page. Where does the time go, piggies? It has been quite the hiatus. I've recently taken to practicing the piano more, i am writing some songs, and i even have a few tracks recorded. I'm getting back to what i love to do. I forgot just how much work it is, though.

10/16/05:
Here's what's happening, pigs: I have a handful of ideas and a smidgen of new material. I would like to pursue this full-time, but with other distractions in my life i can only spare a couple hours per week. Pending further evaluation of my overall mental and physical health, we'll see where things go from here.

8/3/05:
There is a video up for download here of a short performance, pigs. I also took some time out of my busy schedule and made a Wenige Zeichnungen wallpaper (1600 X 1200). Click the thumbnail below.

7/12/05:
All new music is virtually non-existent. There's a few odd tracks here and there, but nothing i'm seriously committed to. This next one could take awhile, pigs.

6/8/05:
It's taken a long while, but i finally uploaded what i felt was sufficient for music downloads. Head over to the music section and grab some tunes. Besides that, there are some new pictures to be seen in the image section. Enjoy your summer, pigs.

5/19/05:
I'm getting stuff uploaded on a new server that actually transfers at a reasonable rate; i just had a download go at 250 K's per second. Just check the music section for yourself and see. I still have a few mp3s to upload and i'm not quite sure when i'll get around to it (It's not top priority for me), but the point is within a week i should have a good handful of mp3s for you pigs to download.

Happy birthday, Jessi.

5/14/05:
I hope all of you checked out the
interview with carr?. Well, i need to find a different (and free) server to upload all my mp3's to, because trying to download anything from this site right now is painfully slow. We're talking less than 2 K's a second on T1. Hopefully i'll have everything up on a new server in a week or so and you can actually download shit.

5/8/05:
I have an interview with the up-and-coming musician carr?
callaway in a brand new section of the site called "More Than Me." It's an interesting read, and hopefully over time i can get more interviews with interesting and awesome people like her.

5/1/05:
Sometimes you just get angry. Sometimes you just have to break stuff. Sometimes it's your Les Paul. Sometimes you have to move on. Sometimes you should check the image section.

I got a new guitar.

In other news, i don't know what to do anymore. I mean, in the two (plus) years i've been making music, i've fiddled with about every genre you can think of. Just recently Eternal Firbi and i made a four-on-the-floor dance track that sounds great, and i recorded a few Huddie Ledbetter covers that i think sound great. Things are sounding great, but those are two things that are real polar opposites. If you put those together on a disc, your head would probably implode. Maybe it's time for me to take a break, pigs.

Happy Greek Easter.

4/22/05:
I'm back to the basics in terms of web design. I like this simple look. Today i'm going to upload a sort of "best of" download list, pigs.

3/25/05:
There were many set backs along the way, but this album is done. It should be available very soon; i'm going to finish fine tuning the mixes this weekend. Once i get the album out in CD form, i'll have all the tracks up for download in the music section. For now i'm going to update the lyric section and discography. I did it, pigs! Time to leave this recording experience behind and move on to another. Oh, the "new look" is gone.

April 1st: Divine Eyes Are Blind Eyes

2/24/05: I've made some updates in these early mourning hours. Most notably, the image section has been chocked full of new and exciting (Not so much) pictures of me and the people i mingle with. Secondly, there is a new song up for download, Drogens?chtig. Three tracks is all you will be getting in terms of downloads from the new album, and i'm doing so in order to perplex anyone who downloads all three songs. Two more songs left to record. No instrumentals. No filler. No bullshit. Expect this release before May, pigs.

Oh, and will you look at this...It's the one-year birthday of this site! My-oh-my, they grow so fast.

1/22/05: The final phase of the "new look" is complete. There is a lot of...well...red. Don't you think? All this crimson is due in part to Jaime. I asked her what her favourite colour was and she said red (And it is her favourite colour for a somewhat odd reason). Thusly, i ran with it, and i believe it is the perfect colour to usher in my next wave of music. I have my screen resolution set at 1280 X 960 on a 19-inch monitor, so i'm not exactly sure how this layout looks on smaller resolutions/smaller monitors. You pigs let me know, alright?

1/20/05: And it is gone, pigs.

There's a new look, though. Look! It's a new look!

1/15/05: I'm adding a buttload of new content as i type this, pigs. New lyrics up, new pictures up, and two brand new songs up for download! However, all the lyrical tracks from TStES are no longer available for download.

Take the songs as you will; taking individual songs from a conceptual album that has yet to be finished leaves the entire equation unfinished, but i simply couldn't wait to share it with you all.

1/3/05: The holidays are over, Child's Play was a success, and thusly i shall take the link down and off the front page. However, in the wake of the tsunami, i urge anyone reading this to think about making a donation - no matter how small - to aid those suffering a world over.

I have two new tracks done, another in the works and plenty of ideas. Expect new dowloads soon, pigs. Work is going pretty quickly and things are sounding good. My ETA for this new record is summer (Hopefully early summer). It doesn't look like i will be producing for the band Iya anymore, which fortunately gives me time to focus completely on my own work, but there is an extreme possibility of collaborations with Joi and maybe even Brittany (The two talented and beautiful members of Iya) on my new record. See you soon, pigs.

12/24/04: Oh, man! I thought my acoustic guitar getting busted up was a "set back." Well, the god i do not believe in obviously has a sense of humour, and decided a full system crash earlier this week would be a splendid idea. So after reformatting my hard drive, installing Windows 98 SE (Unfortunately the only OS i have the disc for), and working for days to get my equipment to work with the aforementioned OS, i have no other choice but to start all over on what i had been working on. Maybe it's all for the best, pigs.

Oh, i fixed my acoustic guitar. Yip-pee.

12/13/04: Set backs, set backs, set backs. My good acoustic guitar hath been slain. This latest development was certainly unforseen and will surely change my new "sound" to one that relies exclusively on the electric guitar. At least until i can set enough money aside for a new acoustic guitar.

There is a new picture up for visual proof that i am not dead (But obviously not well). Also, the blank discography page that has been dormant for a couple months should have content within hours of this posting.

12/6/04: Just letting you pigs know that i'm not dead. I've started work on some new music, and can't really say what the final product is going to sound like yet. I'm leaning towards the description of pop-inspired, progressive, techno hardcore. See, i told you it's tough to describe things as of now.

In other news, i will start producing a collection of songs for the band Iya starting in about one month, so look forward to that. Iya is an up and coming band on the Grand Rapids music scene, and i expect nothing but good things from them in the future. Until next time, which is whenever i feel like updating: See ya, pigs!

10/29/04: There are new songs in addition to old ones up for download. The idea was to give those of you living abroad (I.E. not living in Grand Rapids, Michigan) the chance to download all the tracks containing vocals on the new album, and now they are all available for you pigs to download. I even had enough webspace left to include one instrumental. I really wish i could give you the whole album, but alas there just isn't enough space for 75 minutes of music, but i digress; go to it, pigs! Dowload! NOW!

10/25/04: Seeing as how the album is out and everything, i decided it would be a good idea to update the lyrics section. So i did. There might be a new picture or two up in the image section, too.

10/21/04: The new album, Two Sides to Every Side, is complete. An official release will be coming tomorrow, friday 22, after the all the kinks have been worked out.

10/4/04: At school taking advantage of broadband. I have
two new songs up for download: "Terra Firma" and "My Heart is Swarming." Enjoy, pigs!

9/17/04: Wow! This is unusual. I have a new track for you pigs to download, but for the first time it is not written, performed, or sung by me; it's only produced by me. This new song available is by the very talented Joi Dupler and is called "Pretty Catastrophe." On a personal note, it was a real thrill to watch her play and sing, and to just work with her in general. Her talent and creativity astounds me. You will not find my fingerprints on this track - it's all hers - except for my subtle vocal support in the final chorus. I hope you enjoy. I know i did.

9/11/04:  There's a new track uploaded for you, wich is conveniantly titled "For You." It's the most vocal effort you'll ever hear from me.

9/5/04:  It's 4:30 in the morning and i just finished putting up a brand new section: Lyrics. Don't say i don't love you people! I've got some Pantera blasting through my headphones and i feel energized enough to get some more shit up tonite (This mourning), specifically and most importantly a new, orignal track called "Sadomasochistic Tendencies." Plus, thanks to the brand spankin' new lyrics section, you can sing along (Or mumble and scream, as is the case)! Peace, pigs!

9/3/04:  I've got a new track for you pigs! Okay, so it's a cover, but it still owns you and your pet hampster. Go download "Eye in the Sky", originally by the Alan Parson's Project, right now! I swear i'm going to have a couple new, original songs for you guys when i learn to write a really catchy chorus. Peace, i'm out.

8/19/04:  New site colours, a couple new pictures, and that is it. Oh, and you may have noticed (yeah-friggin'-right) all this "Wenige Zeichnungen" business on this site and other places. Well, that will be my new recording alias so get used to it! Formerly Blue Emu, temporarily Nick Griffith, now known as Wenige Zeichnungen.

8/4/04:  A new track is up for download, Freaky Out-ty. The face of rock-n-roll will be forever changed.

7/14/04:  Happy ten days after the Fourth of July - also known as 'Happy Ten Days After You Blew Your Hand Off Day'. Anyway, there is a new track up for download, Rumination, which was just finished a few hours ago. Inspiration is striking like mad!

7/4/04:  Happy Fourth of July. The day fireworks were invented or something like that. Whatever. There's a new track up for download, Futile Japan, a collaboration between Eternal Firbi (Formerly DJ Firby) and myself. Check it out.

6/1/04:  I'm going to try getting a new mp3 up. Thusly, i will be taking one down.

5/30/04: No longer will i record under the name "Blue Emu." I hated that name since its inception, but for some reason i kept it. For now i will simply release music that only a few people will hear under my own name, Nick Griffith. So when somebody ask you, "Who made this mediocre music?" You can answer them, "Nick Griffith." Then they say, "Geez! I hated that asshole before, but now i really hate him."

It's so much simpler.

5/9/04
:
So there is a new song up, and i already have the tab for it online. I may be making some more updates tonight.

5/8/04: Ocho de Mayo! Making minor changes. Maybe taking some songs down and putting newer, unheard stuff up.

4/2/04:
Putting some more songs up for download, and i may even have some new sheet music for the masses who flock here (Me).

3/14/04: There are more songs up for download. Expect new sheet music and guitar tabs soon. Maybe. Um, Hopefully.

3/9/04: I got a new link section up. As of now, i have only linked to providers of musical equipment and software, but i hope to keep adding links and get a diverse selection.

3/2/04: I guess i can get music online now, so i'm going to get that up and running. Maybe a few more pages to come, but i am done for the most part. Do you dig the new minimalistic design?

2/24/04: Just got this site up and running. I'm getting a few pages up, but it looks like i won't be able to offer any mp3 downloads for a week.
