Directed Vulcan's corporate technical service center, which was a supported resource to corporate management and provided technical services for their seven construction material divisions. Offered technical and engineering services for A&E firms, federal and local government agencies, and contractors. Served on numerous local and national organizations including a member of an advisory group for the Engineering Department at UAB, ACI commitees, national aggregate associations, National Ready-mixed Concrete Association, International Association for Aggregate Research, and ASCE. Have a thorough working knowledge of fresh and hardened portland cement concretes, asphalt hot and cold mixes, asphalt emulsions, slurry seals and designs of rigid and flexible pavement. Developed, implemented and managed a corporate-wide computerized statistical quality control system.
Managed Vulcan's Chattanooga ready-mixed concrete and asphalt emulsions departments. Responsible for operations , marketing and sales (P&L centers), and designed and constructed two new facilities for both of these operations.
Directed two operations in foreign countries for six years. Mobilized and operated two new overseas constructionmaterial businesses( concrete, asphalt, and aggreagates)including feasibility studies, plant design, equipment selection and plant construciton, marketing, sales and operations. Business environment included numerous European, Asian, and Middle Eastern companies. Provided consulting services to Betchel, Fluor Daniel and ARAMCO.
