Atonement is one of the best books I have ever read and one of my personal favourites. While you read the book, you can't help but to build a conexion with Briony, who narrates most of the story. I just loved to "hear her thoughts". I have seen the movie too, and thoguht it was also amazing - Briony is superbly played by Saoirse Ronan (at 13), Romola Garai (at 18) and Vanessa Redgrave (older).
