The mission of Southwest Michigan Bass is to promote bass fishing in southwest Michigan through tournaments, articles, fishing reports, pictures, discussion, and fishing related links.
News
September 22, 2009: Local southwest Michigan anglers are doing very well fishing club classics this fall. Ron and Randy Nelson won the Moore Boats Classic on Lake tippecanoe with 13.50 pounds. Mark Nelson and John Gipson Jr. came in second behind Chip Harrison in the Lake Drive Classic with 19.43 pounds. Lastly, John Gipson Jr. and I (Justin Hahaj) won the two day S.M.A.C Classic on Muskegon Lake with 26 pounds. Great Job guys!
August 3, 2009: Recently the Four Flags Bass Masters competed in the Michigan B.A.S.S. Federation state championship on Lake St. Clair. They did a great job as individuals and as a team! As a team they finished second overall and they had a couple standout angers. Local anglers Steve Ohst and Dan Posey earned a spot on the state team that will fish at the regional tournament by finishing 9th and 10th overall. Great Job Guys!
July 25, 2009: The Western Michigan University fishing team (John Gipson Jr. and Matt Monroe) won the National Guard FLW College Fishing event on the Detroit River today with 20 pounds of smallies!! Nice going guys.

May 27, 2009: I just received word that Ron and Randy Nelson won the NBAA Classic at Houghton Lake. They won a Z6 Nitro with a 115 Mercury for their performance. Congrats!!!
