Recording Part VIII : Thank God, were done

Hello everyone, some very big news, we just finished up our demo, and it sounds incredibly fantastic.  We are so happy with the final product, and it is all thanks to DANIEL GOOD from Transcend Studios.  What a genuinely great guy and fantastic sound engineer, thank you so much.  We have also officially changed our name to Elephant and Castle, we felt that is was time for a change and we also felt that this name just suited us as a band much better than our old name, which we do not speak of anymore.  We have put up 3 songs for you on www.myspace.com/elephantcastle, and we also have a new purevolume, www.purevolume.com/elephantandcastleil , so please get us some plays and please spread the word.  We are setting up shows now for the oncoming months, and are looking to set up a record release show on, Sept. 17th at the oak brook christ church, should be a great show.  Other than that we are back to writing new material, and are shirts are almost done too.  It is getting to be an exciting time and i hope that you will come on the ride with us, if anyone has a myspace please be our friend, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE spread the word about the new demos, and everything else, it would be so appreciated.  Also give us some feedback, our new e-mail is elephant_and_castle@hotmail.com we would love to hear from you, thanks so much, and we will have more news soon.

Thank you for caring,

The Band

Recording Part VIII : The Locust Flower

Everything is going great, and we are almost done, Kiel has been tracking guitars for almost three days now, and everything is finally starting to sound fantastic, i must admit that at first we thought everything sounded a little off, but everything has come together quite nicely and it is becoming something of its own very quickly.  We love it so far and it can only get better from here.  All that is left is the distortion tracking for guitar on three more songs, and tomorrow Owen and Kiel are finishing the transitions and fine tuning the effects on many things, it is going to be a fun day.  For now that is all there is to be known, be on alert there should be more updates tomorrow.

Endless Love,

The Band

Recording Part VII : C.A.T.E.R.P.I.L.L.A.R.

Hello to everyone out there again, i hope you have been having a great couple of days.  We have been very hard at work on the new album.  Yesterday, Kiel finished the complete guitar tracks for four of the six songs.  They sound pretty good, but i believe he is going to go back and redo a couple to make sure they are of album quality.  Today Owen finished off the bass tracks for his final three songs and has completed his duties.  They sound great, he did a fantastic job.  We also did the special intro to the CD today, something that no one has heard yet, and it sounds incredible, i really really want to thank josefina asconape for coming up to Lake Zurich with us today and allowing us to utilize her brilliantly beautiful vocal chords.  You did a fantastic job and we are forever indebted to you. Thank you so much. Tomorrow Kiel is returning to finish up his final two tracks.  Hopefully he will do a great job and then finish the rest up on monday by redoing certain parts with distortion.  Then Daniel will work his magic, and on Tuesday or Wednesday we will return to finish off the mixing and make the album sound fantastic.  It should be finished by next weekend and that is a crazy thought, just 2 weeks ago there would have been nothing.  Well, that something to look forward to.  More updates tomorrow.

Goodnight,

The Band

Recording Part VI : The Accordian Firekeeper

Good evening to everyone out there.  We just finished up our third day of recording and i guess all i really have to say is that it was a long day, it was a good day, a funny day, and at times a frustrating day, but i think all together we showed are true colors today and pulled together and persevered through the problems and finished with something that we can be really proud of.  The album is no where near being complete, david finished tracking the drums today and they sound great, he did a fantastic job.  Owen also started recording bass today he finished three tracks, and they also sound spectactular.  Owen has three more tracks to go and he is going to finish those on friday.  Tomorrow Kiel is going to start tracking the guitar and is hoping to finish three songs, leaving him to do one on friday, and two on saturday.  That would allow daniel, our sound engineer to start mixing on sunday without us, doing all the little stuff, and then having us come in on Monday and tuesday of next week to finish mixing.  So far everything sounds pretty good, and i think it can only go up from here, we are all pretty excited, and i believe that is about all there is to say right now.  Look for another update tomorrow, and once the album is finished be on the lookout for track listings, the album title, and some artwork for it perhaps. Until then, thank you for caring.

With love,

The Band

Recording Part V : Eel Infested Ocean

I hope everyone is having a fine evening, because we are having a great one ourselves.  Dave almost finished recording all the drums today, but we still have to finish half of one song and the beginning of another, Dave completed Juan Valdez, so that was a big accomplishment.  Owen is starting to track bass tomorrow along with the completion of the drums.  We will have more updates tomorrow.

Peace,

The Band
