This pic is from Thanksgiving Day, 2005 when I was at 156.75.

As of today, 12/16/05, I am 155 and have lost a total of 39 lbs.  I have some before pics- hoping to get those up soon so you can see the difference.

Some personal details:

I am 41 years old, married and have 3 kids - 20yo, 13yo & 11yo.

Devout Catholic.  My faith is a very important part of who I am.

Hgt: 5'1"

Brief summary of my weight loss journey:

Did not really have a weight problem until my early 20s.

About four years ago, I decided to try WW - Winning Points - and lost 20 lbs.  Unfortunately, I'm an emotional eater and my oldest son was 16.  You figure it out!! :)  Anyway, I gained it all back, plus a little extra.

In December, 2003, at the age of 39, I decided that as I looked ahead to my 40s, I did not want to have a lot of health problems.  My New Year's resolution was to become more healthy and if I lost weight in the process, then all the better.

In May, 2005, I had lost 5 lbs and joined Curves for a year.  During that time, I tried the Curves diet as well as Flex - sometimes using the Wendie Plan version of Flex to break through plateaus.

In October, 2005, I rejoined WW during free registration so I could get the new Turnaround materials.  I knew WW worked for me but as a lifestyle change, was realistic and knew I could never count points for the rest of my life.

Core has given me the freedom to eat healthy and manage smaller portions according to what my body needs.  I no longer have to worry about being hungry at the end of the day and being out of points.

Biggest misconception about Core: not enough variety.  If this is keeping you from trying Core, please take the time to search for core recipes on the Core board.  It is worth the time and effort b/c there are some wonderful meal ideas out there.

Curves helped me reshape (tone) my body by going 3x/week.  I added Walking Away the Pounds for Abs after awhile.

After my one year was up, I decided to try working out at home.  I am currently doing the TransFirmer videos - occasionally I mix in Kathy Smith's Lift Weights to Lose Weight, Tamilee Webb's I Want That Body, Walking Away the Pounds (variety of videos).

I like to keep a variety of workout videos at home so I don't get burned out or bored.
