SHANNEN DOHERTY INTERVIEW IN CHARMED MAGAZINEShannen Doherty did an interview for Charmed Magazine's most recent addition. First, here are scans of the magazine. Underneath the scans I have the complete typed up interview. Thanks Shannen-Doherty.net!
Charmed Magazine:Are you still acting or are you moving away from that?
Shannen:No. I am definitely not moving away from acting. I actually have an offer for a TV series right now that I am contemplating. I think I have discovered that working constantly isn't necessarily the right thing for me. And sometimes taking time off is. I have the most terrific family.
Charmed:What have you learned about relationships over the years?
Shannen:The same thing that you have learned. We have all learned the exact same things through relationships. My good friend David Gardner and I once made lists of what we want in a mate. And we now set standards for ourselves. The funny thing is that now the two of us are like, "How are we gonna find someone, because neither one of us leaves our houses?" So we are pretty sure that we have to conjure them and bring them to us. But I think that it is trial and error in relationships. For each one you go, "Hmm, that's what I liked about him and it didn't work out, so I'll cross that off."
Charmed:And what exactly are those standards?
Shannen:They're pretty high for me right now. That's why I've been single for so long. I want somebody who is fiercely independent and gives me my space. But I also want someone to protect me. Someone who is loving, compassionate, funny, kind, and secure.
Charmed:It sounds like you consider yourself an expert on bad men, but not on good men.
Shannen:I am not an expert on either. I think an expert doesn't mess up nearly as many times as I have. I think that I am good at getting over relationships and dealing with the guilt and the tears and the mourning and the grief. God knows I've done it enough.
Charmed:How do you do that? Ice cream?
Shannen:Friends. I lean on my friends like you wouldn't believe.
Charmed:So, not an actor?
Shannen:I would prefer not. To tell you the truth, an actor would probably not be a good idea.
Charmed:Do you want a family one day?
Shannen:I do. Eventually. I don't know if they are going to be my own or if they are going to be adopted. I don't really know.
Charmed:Are you dating?
Shannen:I have had one date in the last year and a half. And it didn't go so well.
Charmed:You've done both reality shows and scripted shows, do you have a preference?
Shannen:No. I don't really prefer reality shows, but doing Breaking Up With Shannen Doherty was something different. It felt kind of organic in a way. Like, of course I will go and help these women and give them an outside opinion. Or vice versa. I also get it because I have a ton of guy friends. I am the girl now, funny enough, that my friends come to for relationship advice.
Charmed:What did you like most about Breaking Up With Shannen Doherty?
Shannen:It was so organic and natural. And it was about working with people that I really like. It just fell into place. But reality is not something I enjoy; I don't watch it on TV. I don't necessarily approve of a lot of the reality shows out there. This show was different for me. We were actually helping people. I really believe that.
Charmed:What does it feel like to go on one date in a year and a half?
Shannen:Liberating. It feels incredibly liberating to acknowledge to myself that I do not need a man to make me happy. I think we can all look back on my history and see that I am no a casual dater by any means. I have relationships. But I go from relationship to relationship. And to go that long without a guy in your life and to say, "Hey, it's not a big deal," it changes everything for you and it allows you to set those standards higher. To set the bar higher.
Charmed:What have you discovered about yourself in that time?
Shannen:I have discovered that I am a pretty damn good person.
Charmed:Do you look at celebs like Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan and think they need intervention?
Shannen:No. Because I don't want my life judged. Why should I judge anyone else's. I got tired of having my like judged.
Charmed:Where do you think the press has been most unfair to you?
Shannen:I hate to use the word "unfair," but again, I have to stand up and say it wasn't just the press - I played a huge part in it. A huge part. Everybody has a job. And if I am creating some of the drama you guys have a job to report it. But I think where I start to say, "No we are getting out of hand," or, "Now this is unfair," is when no one lets it die. When nobody says, "You know what? She was young.Give her a break." Give me a chance to get up again. Stop writing about stuff that happened 10 years ago. Stop bringing up every bad thing that happened in my life. And give me another chance to mess up. If I mess up again, write about it. Otherwise, just let me breathe and let my parents breathe. Let them pick up a paper that says one nice thing about me.
Charmed:How did the passing of Aaron Spelling touch you?
Shannen:It was actually very hard because a friend heard about it instantly and sent me an email. It was a little bit shocking because it was an email that simply said "Aaron Spelling died," and nothing else. And then there were 30 other emails following it. I think we all knew he was sick. I certainly stay in really close contact with Holly Marie Combs. She is one of my closest friends. So we both had discussed it. I knew it was far worse than anyone said it was. So, it wasn't necessarily shocking. But it is hard. You are talking about a man I have known since I was 18 years old. Who has played a significant, significant role in my life. And a man I owe a lot to. I loved him dearly and he loved me dearly. You know, you always wish that things were different and you always wish you had that last moment with somebody to express yourself to them. But, you know, we lost an amazing man. We lost a man who shaped TV. And made a huge contribution to this business. But most importantly, made a huge contribution in his personal life.
Charmed:Were you able to talk to Tori Spelling at all?
Shannen:No. I think Tori is in the middle of her own stuff right now. I think it is best for a lot of people to give them their space.
Charmed:You've lived in LA most of your life, would you ever consider living somewhere else?
Shannen:No. No. Never. When I was in my twenties I used to dream about moving to New York and doing plays and living in SoHo. That whole artist thing. Now I am a beach girl. I am about California. I love my space. So I could never do the New York thing.

ROSE--VELVET MAGAZINE INTERVIEWThanks to Rose-McGowan.com, we have figured out that the new photoshoot of Rose was from an Italian Magazine called Velvet. We also have a translated article with quotes from Rose. It was great to read. Enjoy!:
Talking about the “dress” she wore at the 1998 MTV Music Awards:
“What was going on in my mind in that memorable day? Nothing special. I usually tend to do things that in that moment seem incredibly funny, but then… That stupid dress had to be good for a laugh, that’s why I wore it only on the red carpet and then I changed for the party. But I didn’t think about the Internet. In a second everyone knew how I was dressed.”
About Florence: “It’s weird, but even today when I go back to Italy I feel I am home. Those are my roots, even though my Italian is definitely not good now.”
About going to America: “When I arrived in America I felt a stranger. I wasn’t happy and everyone saw me as a rebel. I hated American food. Once I was having dinner with my mother and her friend, at Denny’s, I ordered very excited some pasta. But when they gave me that ‘thing’ I was disgusted: I wanted to puke! I didn’t just hate American food. The too strong lights too, people talking so loudly and - most of all - everyone who wanted to teach me what to do and what not to do.”
About shooting Charmed and Grindhouse:
“It was a touch period. For two months I have been working in Los Angeles in the morning on the set of Charmed and in the night in Texas on the set of Planet Terror. Two completely different roles and two different ways of working. Friends and colleagues were worried because they saw me very tired and always thinner. But when Charmed finished I understood that, that crew was the only true family I had ever had. It never happened to me to share joy, pain, lunches and work with some people for so many years.”
About fashion:
“I like to borrow dresses from the stylists, but shoes and bag are always mine! I buy 90% of my clothes online. I go crazy for megastore websites such as Neiman Marcus or Bergdorf Goodman and I buy a lot also on eBay. I’m very particular for what regards the ‘vintage’, I choose evening outfits, jackets, skirts, but just the ones that makes me think that haven’t been never worn. I am obsessed by cleaning and germs. Sometimes I forget something in the wardrobe and I find it after years: I just found some boots I bought in the 80’s and my friends envy me for those. I would describe my style as “high end/low end”, a mix: one day you’ll see me dressed like a true lady, with cashmere, and next day I’ll be casual.
About movies:
“It’s such an honor; my favorite man would be a mix of Robert Mitchum and Cary Grant. If I could do a remake of a movie I would choose Giovanna d’Arco al rogo (1954), released in 1954, by Rossellini with Ingrid Bergman. Lately I went seeing the remake of 3:10 to Yuma with Russell Crowe and I have to admit that’s much better than the original. I was frustrated though because I thought that there aren’t roles like Crowe’s written for a woman. It’s not that I dream to be a man, but there’s a male part in me that leads me to do 90% of my stunts in my movies.
In Los Angeles my favorite hobby is putting on a big pair of protective glasses and use my power drill to do some work in my house. Lately I bought on eBay an old car called Nissan Figaro, but I have to fix it completely because it’s not even homologable (?) in the United States and I just found out I have the instructions in Japanese, but it doesn’t let me down. Be sure: sooner or later I will fix that car.”

ALYSSA TROPIKA INTERVIEWAlyssa did an interview with TropIKA. Here it is, enjoy!
------------
TropIKA – When and how did neglected diseases first enter your life and start catching your attention?
Alyssa Milano – I first learned about NTDs while at the Clinton Global Initiative in 2006 where Dr Peter Hotez (Chairman and founder of GNNTDC) hosted a panel on NTDs. I was able to have a one-on-one conversation with Dr Hotez in which he educated me about these debilitating, parasitic and bacterial infections that impact 2.7 billion people in 142 countries. I was struck by the fact that I had travelled the world on humanitarian missions since 2000 and hadn’t heard of these diseases despite the broad scope of those affected.
TpK – In June 2007 you were named Founding Ambassador of GNNTDC. How would you evaluate this experience so far?
AM – My experience as Founding Ambassador of GNNTDC has been inspiring and humbling. To be able to use my voice to create awareness and empower people about NTDs has been extremely rewarding. I feel a tremendous amount of responsibility to be the voice for those who have no voice. In the future, I hope to make field visits to further my knowledge on the social stigma and struggle associated with NTDs.
TpK – What do you believe to be the major current hurdle on the way of fighting NTDs?
AM – I think the major hurdle in fighting NTDs is a lack of awareness and funding. If people knew that NTDs perpetuate the cycle of poverty (these diseases flourish best under conditions linked to poverty and impact economic productivity), that there is evidence that indicates that controlling neglected tropical diseases would greatly reduce the morbidity and mortality of malaria and reduce the transmission of HIV/AIDS, and how little money it takes to control NTDs (each dollar can provide treatment for two people for seven diseases for one year), then there is no way they would not want to do their part in eradicating NTDs.
TpK – Although there are quite a lot of Hollywood actors and actresses, as well as other public celebrities involved with charity works and philanthropic actions, usually they are more involved with other kinds of humanitarian calamities (war refugees, natural disasters, political and ethnic genocide, hunger, etc). In your opinion, why do NTDs not attract more people to fight for its cause?
AM – I don’t know why more celebrities aren’t involved in the fight against NTDs. I can only think it’s because they may not know NTDs even exist. I hope more celebrities will get involved though.
TpK – Your first action as ambassador was to donate $250,000 of your own money to the charity’s Drug Fund, to be used to battle lymphatic filariasis (LF) in Myanmar. What follow-up information have you had about this donation?
AM – We are awaiting the official report from WHO on how successful we were in treating those in Myanmar afflicted with lymphatic filariasis from my donation.
TpK – What about your scientific background? Did you have to brush up your science skills in a more academic way or did you manage to grow your scientific knowledge by your own?
AM – Dr Hotez gave me an extensive crash course in parasitic and bacterial infections.
TpK – What do you think of the current media coverage on NTDs?
AM – In my opinion, there is not enough media coverage on NTDs. President Bush’s announcement of the Global Initiative To Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases was a step in the right direction, but media outlets didn’t cover this story as extensively as they should have.
TpK – Have you read the last PLoS NTDs Editorial Opinion from Dr Peter Hotez – ‘Reinventing Guantanamo: From Detainee Facility to Center for Research on Neglected Diseases of Poverty in the Americas? What is your opinion about that?
AM – I have read the article. I agree wholeheartedly that reinventing Gitmo to address neglected health problems could change America’ reputation in that region. ‘It is a moral outrage that a wealthy country like the United States allows its closest neighbors to suffer from some of the world’s worst levels of disease, poverty, and malnutrition.’ Powerful words from a passionate man.
TpK – What are your personal goals for 2008?
AM – My goal in 2008 is to continue educating people on NTDs. By doing so, I hope to bring these issues to the forefront of our philanthropic vernacular so we can soon be on the path of eradication.
TpK – If you, as ‘Phoebe Halliwell’, could have illimitable magical powers, what you might do in order to tackle the defying problem of global NTDs?
AM – If I could have a magical power, it would be the power to heal.

ALYSSA BOSTONNOW INTERVIEWHere is an interview with Alyssa from BostonNOW! Enjoy:
------------------
BostonNOW: Would you have called yourself a mob aficionado coming into Wisegal?
Alyssa Milano: (Laughing) I wasn't really a mob fan but growing up in New York - I was born in Bensonhurst and then we moved to Staten Island - and being Italian-American, it was definitely something I had interest in.
BN: Speaking of that, was it fun to break out the New York accent in the movie?
AM: Yes. It came back very easily, oddly enough. It's funny because I auditioned for Who's The Boss when I was 10 years old and I had gotten rid of my accent because I was doing mostly theater. In my first audition that was fine but when they flew me to LA, right before I walked into the room they said, "OK, we want you do your New York accent."
BN: How did you end up with Wisegal?
AM: My agent sent me the script and I liked it very much, that the story of a mother trying to make ends meet was something that everyone could relate to. And I liked that it was a side of the mob we don't always see, which is from a woman's prospective, and what that allowed us to do is show the family aspect of being involved in the mob, feeling protected, feeling taken care of.
I met with one of the producers and we worked on the script for six months before we started production. We actually had 10 days of rehearsal time before we starting filming, which is unheard of. A lot was because the strike was pending so we knew once we started production we weren't going to be able to do re-writes, so we did them all during the rehearsal period. It's one of the reasons why the movie came out so well, because we all had time to investigate these characters and their relationships with each other.
BN: You play a mom in the movie. Did your experience as a child actor help in working with the boys who played your kids?
AM: I always have a soft spot in my heart for child actors and I enjoy working with them very much. The four kids who play my kids in the movie were awesome.
BN: They have great hair.
AM: Yes, great hair and also they were all Canadian and had to perfect that New York accent and I thought they did a great job.
BN: Any project that deals with organized crime gets an immediate credibility boost when James Caan is in the cast.
AM: Absolutely, and not only that but we have Joe Pistone (the FBI Agent whose was the basis for Donnie Brasco) as one of the producers, so everything you see is pretty dead on.
BN: Was your preparation any different because you were playing a real person?
AM: It wasn't actually...This wasn't a real person that had been in the public eye so we didn't know much about her. I was really able to go into it and create who I thought the core of her was/is. Her son was one of the producers, which was great and very helpful to have him around.
BN: In a lot of ways the movie is about a woman who finds herself in a tough situation and makes a number of bad decisions ... Looking back on your career, are they any decisions you wish you could make again, roles you passed on or maybe parts you did take?
AM: No, not really. I can't really complain. After 27 years I feel pretty blessed. I could go back and say, "oh, that was an awful film" but I think that everything's brought me to where I am. And that goes for life, too; everything we go through makes us who we are.
BN: Not to be unprofessional but you looked incredible in that red dress.
AM: (Laughing) Thank you very much. That wasn't unprofessional at all. Thank you.
BN: You've done comedy, drama, Charmed had a lot of action, you've done TV and movies ... At this point in your career are you getting the kind of roles you want?
AM: I think that's always an actor's mentality; how many actors does it take to screw in a light bulb? Four, one to do it and the other three to say, "I could've done that." I think we always want to do more but that's what keeps us going.
I'd love to get on another series because I feel like all the best roles for women are being produced in television. I sort of take my career day by day. If I had some big plan or expectation for where I'd thought I'd be or where I'd like to be at this point, I think that's when disappointment comes in.
BN: You did a couple of episodes of My Name Is Earl before the strike and I know you're doing a couple more. Is it difficult to go into a group that's had two or three seasons to gel?
AM: (Laughing) Yes, it's like jumping on to a moving train. It's been really great, they've been really warm and receptive, and the writing is so great.
BN: Did you have any second thoughts when they showed you the outfit you'd be wearing for your first scene?
AM: Yes, absolutely (laughing). I was like, "did we have to go with the stripper boots"?
BN: You've got a movie coming out next month, too?
AM: Yes, April 18. It's called Pathology and it's about a group of medical students who come up with the game of "who can commit the perfect murder." I saw the movie recently and I really, really enjoyed it. I think there's a lot more heart in it than your normal thriller.
BN: So are the Red Sox the top selling team for TOUCH (Milano has a line of clothing for female sports fans)?
AM: One of the top sellers, absolutely.
BN: And you're branching out from just baseball, right?
AM: We have licensing now to baseball, the NHL, college, the NBA, and the NFL.
BN: When did fashion become a big interest for you?
AM: I think just being a girly girl I was always into fashion and also being a tomboy I was always looking for ways to meld the two and those things weren't available in the market. It really was an idea based out of necessity.
BN: I know you are a huge baseball fan and even have your own blog about it. How do you think the Sox are going to do this year?
AM: The Sox always do well. Spending time at Fenway like I did last year doing commentary for TBS during the playoffs, it made sense to me why the chemistry is so great. The whole setting is so intimate, Fenway is such an intimate place and Boston is so quaint and charming and I think that just lends itself to having great team chemistry.

ALYSSA WISEGAL INTERVIEWDid you meet or talk to Patty Montanari, the woman you play in “Wisegal” who got tangled up in the mob?
I didn’t. But her son was on the set for a few days, and watched me do a scene. Afterwards, he said to me, “The way that you’re playing her [his mom] is so dead on that it’s eerie to me.” I took that as a good sign.
Do you have any traits that you think would make you a good a mob wisegal?
I’m tenacious. And feisty. And Italian.
Do you have any traits that would work against you as a wisegal?
I’m way too compassionate. I think that’s what made it so hard for Patty. There’s a certain emotional resilience that you need to have.
Was it at all intimidating to work opposite James Caan?
No. He’s the nicest, most laid-back guy. It was the most astounding thing to see, because when the cameras weren’t rolling, he was just joking around, having a great time, and as soon as the camera rolled, he became this scary monster. Our chemistry was great right off the bat.
What was your experience like working opposite Jason Gedrick?
Jason was awesome. He’s an incredible actor. Passionate. Very sweet. My Chihuahua just fell in love with him
What is your favorite mob movie of all time?
“The Godfather.” It’s such a great piece of art. My favorite moment is probably when [the movie producer Jack Woltz] finds the horse’s head in his bed [after insulting the don and refusing his request].
We’ve watched you make such a seamless transition from child star to adult actor, which we know many can’t do. How did you manage that?
You know, I have no idea. It’s one of the great mysteries. I’m more proud of the fact that I was able to grow up in this business and be a good human being than I am that I still have a career. But obviously, the fact that I can still do what I love to do is amazing. After “Who’s the Boss” ended, everyone said I’d never work again. But by some miracle, I’m still going, and I feel very blessed for that.
Speaking of being a good human being … which of your many humanitarian causes is closest to your heart?
I am the lead ambassador for the Global Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases. Neglected tropical diseases are a group of 13 parasitic and bacterial infections that affect the poorest of the poor — people that live on a dollar a day. They’re debilitating diseases that affect over a billion people. And nobody’s talking about it. But the good news is that neglected tropical diseases are actually treatable. So for the price of a cup of coffee, you can treat one person afflicted with these diseases for a year. There’s a website you can go to. It’s http://gnntdc.sabin.org.
Besides being a humanitarian, you’re also a fashionista now. Can you tell us about your new clothing line?
It’s called Touch by Alyssa Milano. It’s a female sports-fan apparel line. I’ve been a huge sports fan my whole life, and I got tired of going into the stadium shops and not finding anything cute or fashionable. I pitched the idea to Major League Baseball. I don’t necessarily think it was the clothing line they responded to, but my passion for sports. They gave me a shot.
What is next for you?
I’m doing a bunch of episodes of “My Name Is Earl.” They have nine episodes left, and I think I’m doing a handful of those. And that’s all I have planned for now.
Do you think you’ll go back to television full-time?
Absolutely. I’m not one of those actors that need to do films to feel fulfilled. I’m very content with the stability TV brings. And I think that most of the interesting female roles in Hollywood are being produced on television, and not necessarily by film studios.

ROSE INTERVIEWQ: Were you apprehensive about making a movie in the grindhouse tradition?
I’ve had people say, “Oh, are they intentionally going to make a bad film?” I know why they’d say that, because those films weren’t always the best. But I was like, “No, the homage is really to the directors, who were the mavericks working outside the studio system and breaking all the cardinal sins of movie-making, i.e. killing kids, killing dogs, doing all the things you’re not supposed to do in films. Robert is doing it within the system, and that’s pretty badass.” That’s my take, anyway, and I think he’s thrilled to be doing that.
How was it shooting for TV during the day and shooting a film by night?
I shot the first two months of Planet Terror at night while finishing the last two months of Charmed during the day, in LA and Texas. It’s a pretty brutal schedule. I must have done between 80 and 100 hours a week on Charmed for five years. It did drive me nuts, but I knew it was going to be hard. And it was. I would wrap around 6am Sunday morning in Texas and get on a 7am flight to LA, then work till 11pm on Charmed to make up the time and then start again at 5am and work till 9pm. On Thursdays I’d get off at 3pm, fly to Texas, shoot all night and then go back. I started the movie at 104lb and went down to 98 and a half. And unlike some actresses out there who get very excited when they look like bobble-heads, I thought I looked disgusting. I was not thrilled.
How was it to shoot the scene in Planet Terror, where Quentin tries to rape you with his melting penis?
That was really gross, I’m not gonna lie. It was actually worse on the set! There was a still photographer trying to get a shot of me between his legs. I was like, “Oh hell, no!”
Robert kept saying, “Turn your head back!” Cos I kept turning away. But Quentin was very good in that scene. Robert directed him very well and he was pretty menacing. In the scene, I’m crying while he’s making me dance, and then I kind of go nuts and smack him.
He’s a very big guy. And I did that about three or four times, where I knocked him across the room, and every time I did it I was like, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I won’t hit you next time!” He was like, “That’s OK.” But then I’d do it again. (Laughs)
What’s Robert like as a director?
Robert’s sets are very quiet, very focused. He’s behind the camera, then he goes home at night and edits it, so I think his brain is doing so many different things. I’d never been on such a quiet set. It was strange, especially going back and forth to Charmed, where everybody was really funny and warm and loud, shooting spitballs at my head during scenes.
For Planet Terror, did you need go-go dancing lessons to play Cherry?
No, I did not, actually. I’ve always kinda grown up dancing. I can do back-bends in five inch heels, so it all worked out. The back-bend I had to hold for a long time because Robert had this huge camera and wanted to shoot the first scene sort of through my back.
He actually wrote the music while he was writing the film, and he wanted the opening sequence to be a dance sequence. I love that music, it’s fantastic. And I have to say, I think it’s a pretty great sequence!
What’s the story with Cherry and El Wray?
Cherry and El Wray were about to get married, or they were engaged at some point, and I think she’s pretty angry with him. That’s why she’s like, “Fuck you!” I think he hurt her pretty badly. As for their back story, I’d say they were together probably at least a couple of years, but they butted heads, so to speak. I think they both had distinct personalities that clashed.
You spend most of the film with a wooden leg, but you’re also wearing a very short skirt. Was it difficult to protect your modesty?
To tell you the truth, I was so much more concerned with not messing up the shot.
It’s such an ingrained thing in me to not mess anything, so I was much more concerned with not messing anything up or wasting time. Plus it was about 105 degrees there. I was there for six months and it never broke that. It was so humid, I could take a script at three in the morning, squeeze it and water came out. It was really disgusting. So I think, for once, I was happy to be not wearing a lot.
When did you first have to shoot a scene with the false leg?
Day one. The first scene I did in the movie was walking down the hall of the hospital with Freddy Rodriguez. What’s funny about that is that Quentin, when he read Robert’s script, thought that was hilarious and he was doing a kind of Three Stooges impression, acting out the scene. So Robert came to me and said, “This is what Quentin really liked,” and so he acted out the scene for me. And then I had to imitate Robert imitating Quentin…
It’s very convincing. How did you do the effect?
I had to keep my leg completely straight. It wasn’t like, say, Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump. That’s a green sock, where they just take his leg away and replace it with something else. But when Robert wrote it, the technology wasn’t there to do it. I think that’s what’s so cool about him. He’ll write something and go, “I don’t know how to do this, we’re just gonna have to figure it out.” And that’s kinda what happened. It was a green sock with LED lights on it so the special effects people could manage the tracking shots. But if it wiped across anything else, like my good leg, they’d have to rebuild it.
Everywhere I’d go, they had to digitally rebuild everything I passed. But I think it just looks badass, and I think that supersedes and overrides any discomfort. Who cares? As Robert always says, “Film is forever.” Well, he said that after I lost feeling in two fingers after doing one of my back-bends. I was like, “Easy for you to say, dickhead!” (Laughs)
But he’s completely right. Yes it was uncomfortable and yes it hurt, but it looks fantastic, it looks kick-ass, and I don’t think anything about it looks fake – which is odd!
Planet Terror is released on region two DVD on March 10th 2008

ROSE'S "GOLDEN BOYS"
Shhh, don’t tell anyone what Rose McGowan’s been up to for the past few months.
“I’ve spent most of the writer’s strike ... writing. Wait, that sounds terrible!” she said, standing backstage Monday at the Max Azria show at Fashion Week.
“But I’m not part of the union, so it doesn’t matter,” explained the 34-year-old strawberry blond, known as much for her failed engagement to Marilyn Manson as for her roles on the TV show “Charmed,” or as a go-go dancer with a machine gun for a leg in last year’s film “Grindhouse.”
Manson has since gone younger — the singer is currently dating 20-year-old actress Evan Rachel Wood. McGowan, meanwhile, has been nursing an interest in slightly older men — the subject of her writing project.
“I’m writing a TV show about old men. I have kind of a yen for them. It’s going to be like a ‘Golden Girls,’ but with men,” said McGowan, for whom no writing credits are listed on IMDB.
So why the geezers?
“They are just so funny and hilarious and sweet and kind of crotchety,” she said. “I’ll probably have to cast younger and then make up the actors to be older, because my dream actors are all dead. I mean, I’d love to use Jack Lemon. But he’s dead. Or James Garner! Actually, he’s not dead. Yet.”
McGowan has been a regular in the tents this week, but not as steady an attendee as Sophia Bush, who has racked up more front-row seat sightings than Vogue editrix Anna Wintour

ALYSSA NHL BLOGSo first of all, I have to say that I’m happy and excited to be here at the NHL All-Star game. I got my start in hockey a long time ago, I’m one member of a lifelong sports and hockey family, but believe it or not, this is my very first NHL All-Star game.
Originally, Tony Danza used to have season tickets for the Los Angeles Kings, back in the day. And I used to go when he didn’t. But then, I wound up getting my own season tickets, and I have a brother who is 10 years younger than I am so he would come with me to some of the games.
He was big into all the players. I think some of the first games he ever attended, it was the year of Luc Robataille’s rookie season. And the Kings had Steve Duschene as well, and all these young guys eventually became his idols.
Actually, this was great – my brother met Cam Neely yesterday and he couldn’t eat for the rest of the night! He was a huge Neely fan as a kid, and obviously, still is today. He was so funny, it was like he was a little kid again. He’s 20-something now, but he still has his heros.
So while I’m here, I’m actually looking forward to a few things in particular; the fastest skater, for sure. And of course, the breakaway competition.
That’ll be great. I’m disappointed that Sidney Crosby isn’t coming, but there are so many other great players here, that there will definitely be some amazing things to see.
And of course there are other non-hockey related events that I’m looking forward to seeing. Like last night I attended the Wyclef Jean concert (which was amazing). I was also interested to see the Jonas Brothers, I’ve heard so much about them, but I had never heard their music. Their reception from the crowd was incredible!
That, and of course getting to see old friends, which is always nice. I actually bumped into Luc Robataille last night, and I haven’t seen Luc in probably 15 years. When he saw me, he said to me “I used to carry you around on my back!” because when I met him I was so little. When we spoke last night, I said “you know what? You were like my only high school friend. I never got to go to high school, so you’re like my only high school buddy!” He laughed.
That’s it for now. I hope you all enjoy the weekend, and if you’re in the area, I hope to see you soon!

ARTICLE ON ROSE CO-HOSTING THE ESSENTIALSRose McGowan, who recently wowed audiences with her performance in the movie double-feature Grindhouse, is coming to Turner Classic Movies (TCM) in March 2008 as co-host of The Essentials, the network’s signature movie showcase. McGowan will take a chair opposite TCM host Robert Osborne, just as she did during TCM’s recent Guest Programmer month in November. Starting Saturday, March 8 at 8 p.m., Osborne and McGowan will introduce “must see” movies each week with an eye toward helping viewers better understand why these films are important and the impact they had on audiences and the culture at large.
“During our many shoots with Guest Programmers this year, we encountered a lot of celebrities who impressed us with their knowledge and love of classic film,” said Tom Brown, vice president of original programming for TCM. “But Rose really stood out, because she was so passionate and insightful. We thought it would be great for her to share her passion with the audience by co-hosting The Essentials in 2008.”
McGowan’s first film as co-host of The Essentials will be Billy Wilder’s serious-yet-comic classic The Apartment, which earned the Oscar® for Best Picture of 1960. McGowan notes that Wilder is “the master of humorous loneliness.” Other featured films will include Rebecca (“a great, atmospheric gothic-horror-romance,” McGowan said); Paths of Glory (“not a war film, but a horror film about a man’s ego”); Modern Times (“Chaplin is great at intertwining social commentary with physicality”); A Face in the Crowd (which stars Andy Griffith and is “a great example of why actors shouldn’t be typecast”); Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (“a masculine film with great, subversive feminism”); and Woman of the Year (“proves you can be a feminist and still be a man”).
McGowan, who was born in Florence, Italy, is well-known to television audiences as Paige Matthews on the WB TV series Charmed, which original aired from 1998 to 2006. Her extensive credits include Grindhouse, a film by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez in which she did double-duty as the star of the two parts of Grindhouse, Deathproof and Planet Terror. She appeared in Brian De Palma’s The Black Dahlia; the television movie Elvis, in which she played Ann-Margret; Jawbreaker, which earned her an MTV Movie Award nomination for Best Villain; the mega-hit movie Scream; and Greg Araki’s acclaimed film The Doom Generation, for which she earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination. McGowan’s other works include Encino Man, Phantoms and Monkeybone. She is currently in production on Stephan Elliott’s Black Oasis, the true story of actress Susan Cabot, who was murdered by her son in 1986.
McGowan became a movie fan at a young age, when she was growing up in an Italian commune. “It was a bunch of hippies and no money,” McGowan told Robert Osborne during her 2007 stint as a TCM Guest Programmer. The commune didn’t have a TV and, instead, relied on a cheap theater for entertainment. “I’m sure we went to one that would show three in a row for 25 cents, probably. They tended to be all old films.”
The Essentials is entering its eighth year as TCM’s signature movie showcase. Past hosts have included Rob Reiner, Peter Bogdanovich and Sydney Pollack. Robert Osborne took over hosting duties in 2005, pairing with film critic and author Molly Haskell. In 2007, Carrie Fisher joined Osborne as co-host
TUESDAY, JANUARY 8, 2008 -
ROSE TO CO-HOST "THE ESSENTIALS"Charmed co-star Rose McGowan will join TCM’s Robert Osborne to co-host The Essentials beginning March 8. McGowan is no stranger to TCM; she was a “guest programmer” with Osborne last November.
On The Essentials, Osborne and McGowan will introduce interesting movies, starting with Billy Wilder’s The Apartment, which won an Oscar in 1960 with costars Jack Lemmon, Shirley MacLaine and Fred MacMurray.

Cate is not the maternal type but decides hiding out in a rich Connecticut suburb is the best way to deal with her situation until she figures out what to do next.
Back in the house and town in which she grew up, Cate meets up with her old high school boyfriend who is the town's sheriff now. Old feelings start to emerge and even though she is not the typical suburban resident, she begins to see the charm of life in in the small town. However she knows things have to change and returns to NYC - with niece and nephew in tow - to hunt for her former partner who betrayed her. Now Cate is stuck between her old life and her new one, and she doesn't really fit that well into either at the moment. Will she finally see the error of her ways? Will she discover she fits into the suburb and the arms of her old beau? Well, being a holiday film, you pretty well know which way it's going to end, or do you? ALYSSA NEXT MY NAME IS EARL EPISODE INFOAlyssa Milano will be appearing in the 13th episode of this season, entitled, "Bad Earl." It's tentatively scheduled to air on December 13th on NBC.
Here's the episode plot summary:
CHRISTMAS OF KARMA—ALYSSA MILANO AND GIOVANI RIBISI GUEST STAR—Earl’s (Jason Lee) lifestyle in prison seems to be transitioning to his regular life outside of bars. He is having a hard time adjusting back to normal life and continues to hold a grudge with karma. With no job, no home and no money, Earl decides that his good deeds are not getting him anywhere, so he reverts back to his old bad ways. Earl's path to trouble starts when he sees that Ralph (Giovani Ribisi) is living a lavish life after conning an elderly woman. Randy (Ethan Suplee) can not handle Earl’s changed lifestyle, so he turns to Joy (Jaime Pressly) and many others to partake in an intervention on Christmas morning. Earl rejects his friends and tries to run from karma, but karma catches up to him in the shape of a car and Billie (Alyssa Milano). Eddie Steeples and Nadine Velazquez also guest star.

ROSE IN MAN ON THE RUN INFOA few days ago fans of Rose McGowan discovered that she is currently filming in Ireland. The movie is called Man on the Run and it is directed by an up and coming Canadian director Kari Skogland. Man on the Run is based on Martin McGartland’s book called Fifty Dead Men Walking and it recounts the author’s amazing true story. The cast is absolutely fabulous, including Sir Ben Kingsley - an acting legend on his own - and promising young talents Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe), Nathalie Press (My Summer of Love) and Kevin Zegers (Transamerica). According to an IMDb user, who was an extra in the project, Rose is “the main star’s girlfriend/wife.”
According to various online reports, the filming began late October and will continue until December 2007. Man on the Run is estimated for a 2008 release.

ROSE "MAN ON THE RUN" ARTICLEThe film Man On The Run starring British acting legend, Sir Ben Kingsley, chronicles the life of IRA informer Martin McGartland, between 1987 and 1991.
Filming took place in Ardglass on Monday and Tuesday, and will take place today in Killough. The local villages are being used to shoot scenes of IRA gun running in Scotland. Canadian director, Kari Skogland, visited Ireland earlier this year to seek out locations. She has chosen Ardglass and Killough as they resemble Scotland, and for their “beauty, peace and tranquility,” images Skogland is eager to portray in the film.
Skogland, who has also written the film, is best known in the UK for directing several episodes of the hit Channel 4 comedy Queer As Folk, in 2000.
The film also stars Hollywood actress, Rose McGowan. McGowan, whose father is Irish, is best known for her leading roles in the American television series, Charmed, teen horror flick, Scream, and the Quentin Tarantino movie, Grindhouse.
The film is based on the 1998 book, Fifty Dead Men Walking, written by McGartland after his own part in the story came to a near fatal conclusion. The story tells how McGartland was recruited by the RUC Special Branch to infiltrate the IRA.

PEOPLE SAYS ROSE IS ENGAGEDNow technically this is not confirmation, but according to PEOPLE Magazine Rose is engaged to Robert. Here is what they said:
----------------
Actress Rose McGowan is engaged to director Robert Rodridguez, a source close to the actress tells PEOPLE.
McGowan, 34, met Rodriguez, 39, in 2006 when he directed her in the Planet Terror portion of the Grindhouse double feature.
"He's my best friend," McGowan told PEOPLE last June. "We instantly became really good friends."
Engagement rumors swirled as the couple attended Hollywood events, and last month the New York Post's Page Six first spotted McGowan sporting a large diamond ring on her wedding finger.
McGowan previously was engaged to rocker Marilyn Manson. Rodriguez is divorced from producer Elizabeth Avellan, with whom he has five children.
A rep for McGowan declined to comment. Calls to Rodriguez's rep were not immediately returned.

ROSE AS BARBARELLAElle is reporting that Rose McGowan will indeed portray the iconic Barbarella in Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming film! Read on and stay tuned for a more ‘official’ announcement!
-----------------
This just in from our editors in Milan: A highly reliable source tells Elle.com exclusively that Rose McGowan is slipping into a fur bikini and major bouffant to take on the title role in the remake of Barbarella. Robert Rodriguez, who left his wife after falling for McGowan on the Grindhouse set, is directing and has cast his love in the part made famous by Jane Fonda. While the rumor mill placed everyone from Halle Berry to Kate Beckinsale and Nicole Kidman in the role of Queen of the Galaxy, it seems he’s found the perfect Barbarella in McGowan.
The newly blond Rose partied it up on Friday night until 6am with Domenico and Stefano following their Dolce & Gabanna show. Only a few short hours later, she had to hightail it to the airport for a flight to L.A., presumably to get back to the set. We can’t wait to see her undress in zero gravity as the opening credits roll…

Doherty, 36, has a different take. "It's totally different [today]," she told PEOPLE at the LG event. "[The attention] is to an extreme now that I can't relate to. My heart goes out to all of them and I certainly hope that they keep their heads up and most importantly they keep their self-respect."
The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star, who made headlines with her brief marriages to Ashley Hamilton and Rick Salomon and alleged feuds with her costars, says young stars these days get away with more than she ever did.
"When I went and got drunk at a bar when I was 21 years old, it was like the biggest deal in the world," she says. "And now these girls, that's like a night at home for them. I don't know why it's acceptable, and now at my age I look at it and I'm like, 'Oh, honey, don't do that.'"
Still, she's optimistic about the future of today's bad girls. "It's growing pains, right? Everybody's got to grow up and make their own decisions. All those girls will learn something from the experience, and that's all that matters."

ALYSSA JOINS WISEGAL
Alyssa Joins Wisegirl
Alyssa Milano has been tapped to star in the Lifetime original movie "Wisegal," a drama inspired by the true story of a women who became a trusted messenger for the Mafia.
Milano will play Patty Montanari, a widow with two young sons who becomes romantically involved with Frank Russo, a captain in a Brooklyn crime family who persuades her to work for the organization as a courier transporting millions of dollars from Canada into the U.S. When Patty learns that Frank has murdered his son, she realizes what he is capable of and begins to fear for her life and her sons' lives.
The movie will be executive produced by Joe Pistone, a real FBI agent who infiltrated the mob. "Donnie Brasco," the 1997 feature film starring Al Pacino and Johnny Depp, was based on Pistone.
"Wisegal" will premiere early next year.
Lifetime Networks president of entertainment Susanne Daniels was enthusiastic about having Milano in a Lifetime project, noting that she had worked with her when the actress was co-starring in the 1998-2006 drama series "Charmed" on WB Network, where Daniels was head of programming.
"We have been looking for the right project for her great talent, and she's ideal as the star of this riveting story," Daniels said.
"Wisegal" is produced by Daniel H. Blatt Prods. Pistone is executive producing with Daniel H. Blatt, Leo Rossi and Anthony Melchiorri; Danielle McVickers is co-producing. Jerry Ciccoritti is directing from a script by Shelley Evans.
Milano has been busy booking jobs recently. She just landed a multi-episode arc on NBC's comedy "My Name Is Earl," and TBS said Thursday that the actress has signed on to serve as an online personality for the network's new baseball broadband channel, TBS Hot Corner on MLB.com, providing reports and special features from ballparks around the country. Milano also writes the Touch 'Em All blog at MLB.com.
In addition to "Charmed," the actress is widely known for her role on the long-running ABC comedy "Who's the Boss?" She also co-starred on Fox's "Melrose Place" for two seasons. She recently completed production on the thriller "Pathology," co-starring Milo Ventimiglia, which is set for a fall release.
Milano is repped by CAA and attorney Bill Skrzyniarz.

INFORMATION ON ALYSSA'S ROLE ON "MY NAME IS EARL"I have some more information about the future Alyssa's character on My name is Earl, and her appearance:
-----------------------
Her first appearance, along with guest star Michael Rapaport ("The War at Home"), will come in early October. (The third season will start on September 27, 2007 in NBC)
Alyssa will play Billie, the girlfriend of Earl's old acquaintance and fellow jail inmate Frank (M. Rapaport). Meeting Earl inspires her to try to set her own life straight, and the two start to become close.
Greg Garcia : "We have two very strong actresses [Jaime Pressly and Nadine Velazquez] on the show, so when we were going to bring in a third for a few episodes, we knew we had to get someone with some real presence," series creator Greg Garcia says. "Alyssa is a popular TV star, and we're delighted to have her join us for what will be a great storyline."

ALYSSA'S BLOG ON "MY NAME IS EARL"Here is Alyssa's Blog from Safesearching (her official site) on "My Name is Earl".
-----------------------
Wow! I am so excited. I just signed on for a recurring role on NBC’S "MY NAME IS EARL". I have been a fan of the show since it first aired and I am grateful to be given the opportunity.
I got the first script last night. It's funny and sweet. Without giving too much away, I play a girl with a shady past and a parole officer (yes, you read that right). After meeting Earl and learning of his karmic belief system, she decides to turn her life around. The character is really quirky and I am looking forward to bringing her to life. By the way, the info posted on tvguide.com about my story line is incorrect. The character will not be a "love interest" of Earl's as of right now.
So there you have it! I just wanted to share the news with my CL family.
I will keep you guys posted as I get more information.
Thank you again for your continued support.
Peace,
Light,
AND LOVE,
Alyssa

ALYSSA ON "MY NAME IS EARL"I just got some exciting news! Alyssa is going to be on "My Name is Earl" for at least 8 episodes! So I'm really excited. Here is the article:
-----------------------
Alyssa Milano by John Shearer/WireImage.comSounds like there's some good frakkin' karma headin' Earl Hickey's way.
My Name is Earl has tapped Alyssa Milano to join the cast as a possible love interest for Jason Lee. According to sources, the ex-sorceress is on board for a minimum of eight episodes. Earl meets Milano's tough and quirky character through fellow inmate Frank (Michael Rapaport). The two bond and, through a bizarre twist of fate that harkens back to a seminal moment in Earl's past, he ends up teaching her the ins-and-outs of karma.

ALYSSA INTRODUCES TOUCH HEADWEARSo this is very exciting news. Alyssa is going to have TOUCH headwear for her line! Here is what she posted on her MLB Blog today:
MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL AND TWINS ENTERPRISES TO LAUNCH TOUCH BY ALYSSA MILANO HEADWEAR COLLECTION
Continuing on the overwhelming success of the clothing line TOUCH by Alyssa Milano, Major League Baseball and Twins Enterprises announced today they are joining together to launch a line of fan fashion headwear.
Las Vegas TOUCH by Alyssa Milano headwear collection is set to launch at the upcoming MAGIC show in Las Vegas on August 27-30, 2007, and will be available for retail sales in the Spring of 2008. The limited collection will debut with twelve styles, including baseball caps, trucker hats, military hats and visors. The collection will be produced in fabrications such as garment washed cotton, satin, felt, mesh and lace, and will incorporate embellishment including rhinestones, metallic thread, silver grommets and satin ribbon.
"I have always been fan of the ‘Franchise’ cap by Twins Enterprises,” said Ms. Milano. “I feel that the quality and dedication of Twins Enterprises is the perfect fit for the TOUCH brand, and will add to the overall success of our accomplishments with MLB Properties and TOUCH. I am grateful for the opportunity to enter this partnership and to add another dimension to the TOUCH collection.”
“TOUCH by Alyssa Milano apparel line has seen a tremendous success at both retail and with our fans,” said Howard Smith, Senior Vice President, Licensing, Major League Baseball Properties. “In July, we announced the highly successful expansion of the TOUCH brand into fan fashion jewelry and we are excited to announce the extension of the line into fashion headwear with one of our best licensing partners; Twins.”
Milano has spent almost her entire life in the public eye. She has a history of starring in long running successful television series. She most recently starred for eight years on the hit WB series “Charmed,” the longest running show in the history of TV with female leads. She also starred on the FOX cornerstone series "Melrose Place," and began her television career on ABC’s “Who’s the Boss” which aired for eight years. Her film credits include “Hugo Pool” co-starring Sean Penn and Robert Downey Jr., the Imagine/Universal film, “Fear,” and “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star.” Milano will be seen this fall in the MGM thriller, “Pathology,” opposite Milo Ventimiglia.

"THE BLUE HOUR" NEWS"The Blue Hour" has been accepted into the San Sebastian Film Festival. Here is a quote from Alyssa's blog entry:
-----------------------
I wanted to give you some good news (but slightly irrelevant given the body and seriousness of this entry). "The Blue Hour", which is the independent film that I did last year, has been accepted into the San Sebastian Film Festival in the "best new director" category. I am very proud of my director, Eric Nazarian for this achievement. I thought you would like this news, as I know you have been asking about the film for some time and wondering the status of it’s theatrical release. Hopefully, we will be accepted into other festivals as well and be able to get distribution. Of course, I will keep you posted on our progress.
-----------------------
So that's exciting :). Great to hear about the success of this film! I'm hoping that it will be released soon.

ROSE IN "BARBARELLA"!?JoBlo.com has learned that there may actually be some truth to the rumors of Miss McGowan starring in Robert Rodriguez’s next film, Barbarella! So that's very exciting :). Here is a little article on it:
-----------------------
When it was announced a few months back that Robert Rodriguez would be directing a remake of the cheeky sci-fi flick Barbarella, it prompted immediate speculation as to who he’d cast as his space-faring clothes-shedding adventuress. One of the names often suggested for the role was Rose McGowan, Grindhouse’s one-legged warrior-stripper… and Rodriguez’s latest squeeze.
According to a JoBlo scooper we’ll call ‘Zeiss’, there may be some truth to that. It seems that Rodriguez and his Troublemaker Studios are gearing up for production, and have already done some FX test footage, with McGowan standing in as the titular intergalactic vixen.
Of course, this doesn’t necessarily mean McGowan is locked for the part — she could have just been conveniently available for Rodriguez to use as his “model”. Or perhaps he’ll use the footage as a convincer for Universal and producer Dino De Laurentiis to cast someone of McGowan’s relatively low star wattage in such a major film role.
Either way, the movie will likely start shooting before the end of the year, so we’ll soon find out who will replace Jane Fonda as the frisky deep space agent.
-----------------------
No matter what, it is really exciting that we may get to see Rose in another movie so soon! I'll tell you when I hear anything for sure ;). I'm hoping that it's true.

MY EXPERIENCE MEETING ALYSSA MILANO AT SHEA STADIUMHey Everyone! As many of you know today I went to meet Alyssa Milano for the second time. It was really great as I expected . I have some great information to tell you guys! Very exclusive from Alyssa herself lol. I'm going to give you guys a little version of our conversation. Here it is (I have to just put out there that she was so sweet!!!):
------------------
Me: Hi Alyssa, I'm Valerie. I was actually at one of your fashion shows in New Jersey....
Alyssa: Oh were you?
Me: Yes, so it's great to see you again.
Alyssa: You too.
*She starts to sign the picture*
Alyssa: I like your earings
Me: Oh thank you, I like yours too (she wore these big hoops that were really pretty)
Alyssa: Thank you
Me: I'm really sorry that your show Reinventing the Wheelers didn't get picked up. I was really looking forward to seeing it.
Alyssa: I know! It was really cute too.
Me: I know you've said something about it leaking to the internet at some point, do you think that it will? *laughs*
Alyssa: Well you know I may just do that myself! *laughs*
Me: I'll definately look out for it *laughs*. Do you see yourself doing another TV show at some point in the future?
Alyssa: Yes, I'm actually going to be doing one for next year. It's going to be a Comedy.
Me: Oh that's great! I'm really looking forward to it. Good to hear .
*She hands me the autograph*
Me: Well it was great to see you.
Alyssa: You too. Goodbye Valerie!
--------------------
So as you can see from what I bolded, ALYSSA IS GOING TO HAVE A NEW TV SHOW FOR NEXT YEAR! I'm really excited. I'm surprised that she actually told me that even though that information is not out anywhere at this point lol. I didn't get a name of it, but I have a feeling that it isn't titled at this point considering 'Reinventing the Wheelers" wasn't titled for a long time.
As far as pictures go, I really don't have many. There were NO pictures allowed at all. No cameras could even get near lol. I was very impressed that my dad was actually able to get a shot. He figured out where she would be coming from, and got a picture from across a little ways. They aren't great shots, but they are something (click to enlarge).
Here is a scan of the autograph that I got. This time she put a heart on it instead of a peace sign lol. But other than that it really is the same:
But the most exciting news that I have for you guys is the fact that she will be doing a new TV show (a Comedy) next year! That is really exciting. It's something to look forward too :).

ALYSSA FRONTS NEGLECTED TROPICAL DISEASESAlyssa Milano is getting very involved in this project. Here is an article about it below.
Milano Fronts Neglected Tropical Diseases
Alyssa Milano has been named the Global Network's Ambassador for the control of something called Neglected Tropical Diseases. Time to get that rash you got on spring break checked out!
The 34-year-old actress has taken on the role of raising awareness of NTDs. No glove no love?! What are NTDs you ask? They are 13 chronic and disabling bacterial and parasitic infections known as "diseases of poverty," which afflict about one billion people around the world. Who knew? Exactly!
Milano is so committed to the cause that she even donated $250,000 of her own dollars toward buying safe, effective and inexpensive drugs to combat NTDs.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE MEETING ALYSSA MILANOToday I met Alyssa Milano in person. Since I know many of you are very big fans of her, I decided that I would share my whole experience with you all.
So today Alyssa Milano had a fashion show as a way to advertise her new clothing line TOUCH. She was very sweet, and the clothing looked great. I was able to get a few pictures of her during that time, but it was difficult since there were so many other people trying to take shots as well. They aren't amazing pictures at all, but I'll post them up anyways :) (click to enlarge):
Alyssa looked really pretty in person. As you can see, her hair is a lot darker now. She dyed it black. Some of the pictures show a reddish tint, but that's not how it actually was.
She told us that she just finished filming Pathology, and I believe she said it is coming out in February. She is really excited and proud of this line of clothing, and I hope that it is a success.
After the Fashion Show, everyone that purchased something from the BC Store (myself included) got in line to get her autograph. The line was REALLY long. I would say there were at least 200 people on it. There were probably 50-60 people in front of me, but once Alyssa got there it moved quickly.
She was sooooo sweet, and I talked to her a little bit. When I got to the front of the line she was talking to the guy next to her about the game last night. You can tell that she is really into baseball lol. She was so adorable! I love Alyssa so much, and this only made me love her even more. I scanned in the autograph that I got so that you guys can see. Here it is!
I hope that you all enjoyed hearing a little bit of my experience meeting Alyssa!

Robert Rodriguez received the first Visionary Award, which recognizes a filmmaker who inspires movie marketers to create work at an even higher level.
Rose McGowan presented him with the award. “Robert Rodriguez has defined classification and has inspired creativity in movie marketers around the world,” she said. “Tonight was an amazing night for movie marketing and the creative talent developing the brilliant promotional materials that bring audiences into the theater,” said John Kilcullen, publisher of The Hollywood Reporter. “The awards show was a great representation of the choices that we are faced with every week at the box office, and I’m thrilled that we were able to celebrate so many films and creative teams this evening.”

As “The Charmed Ones,” the most powerful good witches to ever exist, the sisters faked their own deaths last year and created new identities, altering their appearances to the outside world, but appearing as themselves to those closest to them. Now, they must reconcile with their own guilt about not fighting the supernatural evil that continues in the world. Now entering its eighth season, CHARMED explores the relationship between three siblings, who after discovering that they possess magical powers, are reluctantly thrown into a world of supernatural evils. Phoebe, Paige and Piper must keep their identity as “the Charmed Ones” secret from the world, with only themselves to rely upon. Piper deals with trying to balance raising her two young sons with Leo and run P3, Phoebe takes over as the advice columnist at the Bay Mirror and meets the man she envisions herself marrying. Paige, meanwhile, cannot ignore the whitelighter in her, answers the call of a young witch named Billie, whose raw talents and sassy attitude will become a tremendous asset in the fight against evil. In working with Billie to hone her skills and teach her the importance of what they do, the sisters realize how much they miss magic and how they can have normal lives and still fight evil. As the three most powerful good witches magic has to offer, the Halliwell sisters continue to wage war against evil as they seek to strengthen their sisterly bond and get closer to fulfilling their destiny.

10 THINGS YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT WOMEN (BY ALYSSA MILANO)Here is something that Alyssa wrote about women. I hope that you enjoy it!
10 Things You Don't Know About Women
By Alyssa Milano
1. Women are innately self-conscious. This is not a choice; it's a genderwide condition. On a bad day, I look in the mirror and see my ten-pound-heavier alter ego. Her name is Bertha. On a really bad day, Bertha sees her two-hundred-pound-heavier alter ego. Her name is Brian Dennehy.
2. Women produce half the world's food but own only 1 percent of its farmland. So we're fine with you picking up the tab. And after about three thousand dinners at Nobu, we should be even.
3. Women like porn, too. We just hate it when you hide the porn.
4. Women remember everything . Don't believe me? Ask your girlfriend where you met. She won't tell you it was at a party. She'll say it was a Thursday, she had just come from dinner, where she ate a veggie burger, and she was wearing her friend Cathy's pink top, which was big on her because Cathy is a big girl. You were wearing a blue button-down, drinking a Jack and Coke with two straws, and talking to Bill, that mutual friend. She waved and you gave her the "what's up" nod. This still infuriates her. ("How could you give me the nod?")
5. An eyelash curler, while mean and ferocious looking, is not a weapon.
6. No matter how much your woman loves you, there are going to be three to seven days each month when she wants you dead. (She may even quietly fantasize about turning her eyelash curler against you.) You have two options: Tie yourself to a tree and wait out the storm, or stock up at Tiffany's, toss a blue box or two into the wind, and hope for the best. We recommend the latter. (The key chain doesn't count.)
7. We think it's weird when you watch sports and concentrate to help your team.
8. "Hey, Melissa, who's the boss?" Not a good pickup line. "Hey, Phoebe, where'd you park your broomstick?" Not a good pickup line. "Hey, Alyssa, you look 250 pounds lighter than Brian Dennehy in that dress." Surprisingly good pickup line.
9. Women hear better than men. That's before you even factor in listening skills and attention spans. Come to think of it, I should have listed this one first because I'm sure I've lost you by now.
10. You may be surprised to know that women were responsible for inventing all of the following: the circular saw, the signal flare, the space suit, the bulletproof vest, and the windshield wiper. You're welcome.

ALYSSA'S SECOND MLB BLOG!Alyssa has done her Second MLB blog! It was great to read:
April 19, 2007
Double Standard
While most of your comments have been so supportive of me (thank you for embracing me), I would be remiss if I didn't say the negative comments have stood out (kind of like a Giants fan at a Dodger game). In particular, I am referring to the comments about my love life (you know who you are).
This will be the first and only time I am going to address this subject so let's get it out of the way.
First of all, if I were actually attached to every pitcher the press has attached me to, I would be in a hospital or mental ward somewhere -- in a straightjacket (that I would of course desperately try to make stylish).
Secondly, even if all the rumors about my MLB love life were true (which they're not) –- we should really examine the double standard that is in full effect here. I know for a fact, that there are many MLB players (plural) or athletes in general for that matter who have dated many Screen Actors Guild members. I won't name names (cough Derek Jeter cough). And yet, these guys are considered cool and we give them props for getting their high profile starlets. On the other hand, women who have dated more than one guy in any profession are easy targets for ridicule. I am speaking personally of course, but I am sure any woman that reads this entry can relate to this double standard and how it may pertain to their lives relative to their own experience.
And I ask you this -– what girl in her right mind wouldn't want to date a ball player (especially a girl who loves baseball)? They are heroes in the utmost iconic sense. Our heroes. Big, strong men that can save the day; that are sometimes the underdogs we cheer on and have faith in no matter what. We believe in their ability to make our dreams come true on the field. Why wouldn't I believe that the same might be true off the field?
My social life doesn't consist of going to clubs like some of my peers. You won't find me at Hyde or whatever club some of my contemporaries find fashionable at the moment for their social butterfly lifestyles. My social life consists of going to games and through that, I have met a few really great men.
We are all looking for our “Happily Ever After.” I am still looking for mine. Along my journey, I have been blessed to cross paths with some of my heroes. These experiences have taught me many things not only about the game I love, but also about the game of love.
I have no regrets.
So to all you lazy bloggers and sports journalists who chose to look for the easy target -– I am here for you. Just trying to find my way with a 0-2 count. And even though I know it’s coming, and it’s nowhere near the zone, I will probably swing at that low and away third pitch. But at least I went down swinging.
Peace,
Love,
AND BASEBALL,
Alyssa
P.S. Juan Pierre’s bat finally woke up in Arizona!
P.P.S. When will Betemit’s bat wake up?
P.P.P.S. I thought Derek Lowe’s comment about power pitchers doing better at Coors Field was interesting.
P.P.P.P.S. I love that Brady Clark can come off the bench and hit like he’s been playing every day. But . . . why was Lieberthal batting cleanup? Is that some Moneyball thing?

ALYSSA'S FIRST MLB BLOG!Alyssa has done her first MLB blog! It was great to read:
THERE’S NO SNOW IN BASEBALL!!! Cleveland’s home opener was called due to snow and then even worse, the Indians/Angels series was moved to Milwaukee. The Cleveland Indians Of Milwaukee??? Blasphemy, I tell you. Twins were in Chicago, and the game was postponed because of the cold. The Blue Jays and the Tigers had to postpone because of the wind. The Cubs and Astros were snowed out at Wrigley. Attendance is down. Home runs are down. Hits are down. Will it ever end? So now I am proposing a new rule: Cold-weather cities just shouldn’t host baseball games in April.
That’s it, end of problem. You’re exempt if you play in a dome or have a retractable roof. And do not even think about shortening the season. Schedule cold-weather teams on the road until the weather warms up.
La_french_terry I mean, where is Global Warming when you need it? Can we now admit that the weather is shifting at a dramatic pace? I am fine with most of the other repercussions but when this dramatic shift starts to affect my baseball -- it’s time to buy a hybrid.
I am particularly concerned because I didn’t design ski masks for TOUCH, our new MLB women's apparel line that has just launched at the MLB.com Shop. Next year, I will revisit this as well as maybe designing a compact, girly snow shovel.
Okay. I feel better now.
Honestly, this is what I love about baseball. It’s just like life. The ride. The journey. Every year when the season starts, I think I have a pretty good idea of how the season is going to go. Oh, I think I’m such an expert -- I read every magazine, I read MLB.com everyday (OK, maybe four or five times a day), I watch the Spring Training games. And yet despite all the preparation, I realize I simply have no idea what twists or turns the season will take. As much as I try to peer into the future, the future is unpredictable. A ball bounces under a player’s legs, and the Red Sox lose their lead and the World Series. A fan interferes with a ball, and the Cubs lose their lead, and the playoff series. A-Rod finally silences the boo’s and steps up to the plate. That’s baseball. In life, we have our own rhythms, our own ups and downs, our own teammates, and all we can do is hold on and prepare for the challenges along the journey.
Jackie_1 I would like to close my first MLB.com blog entry, by paying tribute to the late, great Jackie Robinson. He was clearly a man with amazing ability, but more importantly, a man with remarkable courage. Gandhi once said, “Be the change you want to see in the world”. I don’t think there is a man who exemplified this sentiment more than Jackie Robinson. And think about this – the color barrier in baseball was broken only 60 years ago. Look how far we’ve come. Never forget. Never forget.
I would also like to take this opportunity to bring your attention to the great work Jackie’s son, David Robinson is doing to spur social change in Tanzania, continuing his father’s legacy in the noblest of ways. Please take a moment to visit this link.
Until next time . . .
Peace,
Love,
AND BASEBALL,
Alyssa

ROSE A GRINDWRECKER?Supposedly Rose is in a secret relationship with the direct Robert Rodriquez
There was a lot of drama on the set of "Grindhouse" and unfortunately it wasn't the acting. According to the New York Post, the director of the film Robert Rodriguez fell for the leading lady Rose McGowan. Only problem is that Rodriguez had been married for 16 years and has five kids. His wife Elizabeth was serving as his co-producer on "Grindhouse."
Sources reveal, "It was the worst-kept secret on the set. They were going off to his trailer, having meals together," says one source. "Rose thought some of the crew were treating her differently, and the attitude was, like, well what do you expect when you're [bleeping] the director?" According to the "Variety, production had to shut down when the sh** hit the fan.
In the meantime, Rodriguez and McGowan are keeping their relationship on the down low. "They arrived in the same limo for the L.A. Premiere, but they got out separately several minutes apart to avoid being seen together." That must suck for the wife to find out her husband is getting with one of Hollywood's hottest actresses.

A CONVERSATION WITH ROSEHere is a conversation with Rose McGowan:
A Conversation with Rose McGowan
Tarantino.info (Sebastian): So How was your day so far?
Rose McGowan: Faaaantastic. And yours?
Sebastian: Fantastic
Rose: Fantastic (laugh)
S: (laugh) Not a single break
R: Yea, me neither.
S: How did you get into Grindhouse? I mean you knew Robert. Did you know Quentin before?
R: Um, I’d met Quentin just at you know parties here and there before. And it was really funny, the first thing he ever did was come up to me and say “I have doom Generation on laser disk.” And I’m like “Of course you do”. I was like, “I don’t even have it on DVD and you have laser disk”. But he’s got every kind of print of everything known to man, which is so cool. You know, He’s.. I’d call it his brilliant obsession.
S: Yea Kurt Russel calls him “the professor of Directology”
R: Dirtology?
S: Directology
R: Oh, yea I’d say Dirtology too if it was a dirtier movie. I’m mean not dirty but not a grindhousy kind of thing you know just a really obscure… there was an interviewer yesterday that said “You know, I was in a Grindhouse movie in the 70’s, it was called cop killer, I had a small role” and I said, “You have to tell Quentin because for sure he’ll know that movie.” And I saw the guy later and I said, “Did he know?” and he was all “Oh yea, he even knew my part.” And I said, “Of course he did, he’s brilliant.” It’s kind of a savant thing
S: (laughs) Oh yea, So you did most of your stunts yourself?
R: I did a lot of them. Yea, I did the big bulk of them. I didn’t want to be dragged to the ground through triggers so I didn’t want to that. There’s a couple other things you know that… I have a great stunt girl though, I’ve worked with her for about six years on Charmed too, which is funny because Quentin loves that show. There’s this thing called the book of shadows which is something we’d all consult and it had these beautiful illustrations and it would have pieces on the demons and things like that and how we’d have to deal with them. And Quentin would call with all these questions and he’d be very anxious with me because I just wouldn’t remember, there’d be so many questions, I dunno.
S: How many seasons is it?

ROSE AT THE AUSTIN PREMIERE OF GRINDHOUSE
Here are some pictures, and articles!
CAPTION: Mar 28, 2007 - Austin, TX, USA - ROSE MCGOWAN at the premiere of 'Grindhouse' held at Austin's Paramount Theatre. 'Grindhouse' is composed of two full-length films. Austin filmmaker Robert Rodriguez wrote and directed zombie thriller 'Planet Terror,' starring Rose McGowan. Quentin Tarantino wrote and directed the other movie, 'Death Proof,' starring Kurt Russell.
GRINDHOUSE JUNKET INTERVIEW
Here is an interview with Rose about Grindhouse. They even talk about Charmed a bit!
Grindhouse Junket Interview
Did you always know you were going to be in both Planet Terror and Death Proof? “No. I auditioned for Quentin’s twice. I had to go back twice, while I was shooting Planet Terror, so no, I did not. It was not a foregone conclusion.”
Were you hinting to Quentin that he should put you in his movie too when he came to visit the Planet Terror set? “No, God no. Never. No, no, no, no, no. I think it was just the same old-fashioned way of somebody making an appointment for you and going in. But also, Quentin likes me and my acting, so to speak. I would never presume to go up to anybody and say anything like that. In fact, I made a huge point to never talk about it. He wasn’t even doing auditions or anything like that, then. I think he was still finishing the script.”
He’s a fanatic about his scripts, I understand. Every word is agonized over. “Yes. He has a very specific cadence, obviously. As long as you can get that, I think you’re sailing away, and you’re just fine.”
Since you left Charmed, you’ve done The Black Dahlia, some other stuff. Were you trying to move in a different direction with this? “It’s kind of just the way it’s happened. It certainly miss everybody on it [Charmed]. It’s very funny because Quentin is a huge fan of the show.”
So was it just time to leave? “Well, my contract was done, and yes, it was time. I was over, I didn’t want to re-up. I was on for five [years] and the girls were on for eight, and the only reason I was on for five was because I re-signed for three more years, after I was on for two. I was told I’d be there for about a year.”
Charmed had a lot of volatility, was there a big difference between doing a zombie movie with all these men? “It’s a tisket-a-tasket. When you’re with guys, you’re like ‘enough with the freakin’ testosterone. God, take it down a level.’ Especially actors. Aaagghh. Sorry you have to transcribe ‘aaagghh.’”
Was working with Holly and Alyssa easy? “Everything has its challenges, and they were really close when I went in, but my job isn’t to go in and be friends with people, my job is to actually work. We definitely became friends, but not sisterly, no. People say ‘do you hang out after work?’ Duh, I just worked fourteen hours a day. Do you hang out with people you work with after fourteen hour days? I think not. I go hang out with my dogs, and occasionally see my friends. But Holly just e-mailed yesterday and I told her she needs to come and visit me with her new baby. And last week I had a problem with my computer so I wrote Alyssa ‘Do you ever have this problem on your Mac?’ ‘No.’ Okay! So no, just kind of general exchanges.”
What was it like working with Kurt Russell? “It was great. And what was interesting, actually, was that almost the way it’s been cut, I have two different roles in Death Proof. Because Quentin wrote a 130-page script, which is really about two hours. So he had to truncate it, condense it for this. But once it’s on DVD .. and the international release is a lot longer.”
We get the back story about the boyfriend? “There’s big, big scenes about that, before I even get into the bar. And then I have a lot more stuff with Kurt, which actually develops his character a lot more. He and I were primarily together the whole time. That was pretty much all of our scenes. In the bar, other than his stuff out on the porch, it was all he and I. So that will be seen a lot more. But as it is, it’s interesting because right now I’m playing the girl who is like ‘don’t go in the woods, you dumbass, you’ll get killed by the guy with the axe.’ Now I’m playing ‘don’t go in the car, you dumbass…’ But if you see the longer version of it, you’ll kind of understand why I’m getting in the car. Currently, you’re like ‘what is she doing? What an idiot?’ She’s the girl you’re gonna yell at, basically.’”
How did you do all the leg stuff? “Calisthenics. [laughter] No. I had a really heavy gray cast and it had kind of like a ball bearing. Cause if you wanted a table leg or a rifle or a machine gun, you’d have to get a little nub to rest on, so that was the ball bearing and my toes were pointed in the air, and I thought maybe my achilles tendon was going to snap. And the other side was a four-inch high heel boot. Gray cast with LED lights.”
How did you walk like that? “Very awkwardly. How did I run like that? How did I jump like that, how did I roll like that? Yeah. I figured it out.”
Talk about the flying. Were you on a crane? “That was fun. I love flying. I was on wires, I wasn’t on a crane, but it was funny because I had to run to get up enough speed to be flown over the wall. And of course I had the four-inch heel.”
Do you see this role as a big break? “I don’t really think ahead that much. All I really hope is that drag queens have my leg on next Halloween. If that happens, I’ll be happy.”
So what’s up next for you? “I’m going to do a movie called Black Oasis, which is very ironic, strange, it’s this B-movie actress called Susan Cabot. She was Wasp Woman, in these Roger Corman movies, which Quentin’s seen every single one of. It’s written and going to be directed by the guy who did Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Stephan Elliot.
Black Oasis is the Susan Cabot story? Did she end up an alcoholic or something? “Susan Cabot story. She ended up being killed by her son, with nunchucks. An ignominious death for sure. I get to be in drag, because she dies in her early 50s, but she starts going crazier and crazier, just piling on the make-up. Then she starts getting kind of crazier, and she goes into time and thinks she’s Wasp Woman and all these other things, so I’ll be acting in all these other movies. It’s fantastical.”
Where did this story originate from? “I think just her life story, probably an article. I don’t know where the actual source material…”
Is it going to be serious? Weird? Both? “Probably both, I guess. I mean, it sounds very serious. It’s quite tragic actually, this poor little thing.”
When do you start shooting? “I hope to start in the next three or four months. It’s really great. The woman who is producing it, Hilary Shor, she just did Children of Men. So we’re hoping to start. She was about 4′10, Susan Cabot, so I’m not sure how .. I’m not super-tall, but that’s certainly a lot smaller. She would wear 8′ platforms, like going around with these high heels everywhere. Just such a sad life. She was sure she’d be an A-list actress if she was only taller. She was obsessed with that fact. She was engaged to King Hussein, then he found out her real name was Harriet Shapiro, she was Jewish, so he broke up with her. She got pregnant, and all her hopes and dreams pinned on the boy. She had a boy, and she was like ‘he’s going to be tall, and da da da, and .. . he was born with dwarfism. So then she put him through all these experimental treatments, shots and hormones, trying to make him taller. He got to be like 5′2, but it was really just a bizarre relationship with them. She had all the Wasp Woman and other props, like in her house. The house was like, crazy. And he became obsessed with Bruce Lee, hence the nunchucks. It was his way of getting masculine, because he never looked masculine. Because of all the hormones, he looked kind of feminine.”
ROBERT RODRIGUEZ TALKS ABOUT ROSE
Here is an article that will tell you what Robert Rodriguez thought about Rose!
Robert Rodriguez on Rose
¡°I met her at Cannes for Sin City. We were sitting around, I was talking to Clive Owen, and then turned around and met Rose, and I was like ¡®what are you up to?¡¯ and she told me she¡¯d been stuck on a TV show for five years, and I was like ¡®oh, no wonder I haven¡¯t seen you around. You were a Dimension girl for a while, you were in Scream ¡ then, like, gone.¡¯ I didn¡¯t know what happened to her. And I started talking to her ¡ª she¡¯s hilarious. She really just caught me off guard. When you meet somebody like that, that has a personality that¡¯s so strong in person, you know that if they can blow it up 50 times on a screen, it¡¯s going to be amazing. You know, like George Clooney or Antonio or Salma ¡ª you get that epiphany of ¡® I want you to be in my movie, but as you are.¡¯ People tell her she should be a stand-up, she¡¯s so accident-prone, she has the worst luck, there are just so many things about her. She¡¯s always talking about her useless talents. I was like taking notes ¡ª ¡®All I have to do is add a machine-gun leg to her, and she¡¯d be over the top.¡¯ So really, there¡¯s so much of her in Cherry. No one else could have played her.¡±

ALYSSA GIVES US THE INSIDE SCOOP!Alyssa tells us everything that is going on in her life including things about her new show, her line, and more!
03|27|07 Alyssa Gives the Inside Scoop
She speaks about her new pilot, Baseball, and baby horses.
Hello! Hello! Hello!
I hope this blog finds you all well and in good spirits. There are so many exciting things going on in my life, I don¡¯t know where to begin! Let¡¯s start with the pilot I just finished for ABC, shall we? Inside scoop? Contrary to Internet reports that it has been titled ¡°All Fall Down¡±, we still don¡¯t have a title beyond ¡°The Untitled Rina Mimoun Pilot¡±. In fact, it was never called ¡°All Fall Down¡±. Even Rina, who created the show, doesn¡¯t know how this factitious title came about.
I have to tell you, I have never been prouder to be a part of anything in my entire career and you know how proud I was of Charmed, so that¡¯s really saying something. The script is amazing (Rina has got the gift) and for the three weeks we worked in South Carolina, everything fell into place with ease. The director (Lawrence Trilling), the cast (Mary Steenburgen, James Brolin, Anna Camp, Misha Collins, Ian Kahn, David Suttcliffe), the crew (to my delight - we even had a couple of Charmed crew members in our camera department), everything about this experience was special. It was a labor of love and I think we made a damn good pilot and I know I made lots of good friends. Now¡ we play the waiting game for two months and hope ABC finds a time slot in their programming for us. My fingers are crossed. My toes are crossed. Everything is crossed. I am a pretzel.
The script is warm, smart and hysterically funny. It opens with my character (Annie) in labor where she finds out some unsettling news about her husband. She is a high-powered attorney in Boston. After finding out this news, she takes her newborn son and drives back to her hometown of Charleston, South Carolina (not Savannah as falsely reported on the Internet) to raise her baby and chaos ensues. The characters and relationships are so real, quirky and heartwarming. You will fall in love with this dysfunctional and yet functional family. I think there is something for everyone to relate to.
In other news, it¡¯s almost opening day!!! Yay! Baseball makes me so happy. But man, the Dodgers are driving me nuts this Spring Training. Colletti if you are reading this ¨C we need a power hitter!!!! The good news? TOUCH will be available on opening day in all the stadiums. MLB.com is carrying the whole line as well! I am so proud. The clothing line is something I have been working on for the last two years and to see it finally come into fruition in such a positive way ¨C is so rewarding. I hope you like the stuff. If you buy any of it, take pictures of you in it and post it on the boards so I can see!
What else do I have to share with you all? Let¡¯s see¡ I am going to Uganda in a few weeks for my first field visit as The Lead Ambassador For Neglected Tropical Diseases. I am excited to expand my knowledge of these diseases that are virtually ignored and affect the poorest of the poor. I will take pictures and of course share my journey with you all upon my return.
You know what else? My mare, Sarafina, just had a baby! We named her Harmony and she is the most beautiful little horse I have ever seen. God, she¡¯s cute. I just want to squeeze her.
What a blessed life I live. I am a very lucky girl. I thank God every day. I appreciate all of it and I appreciate all of you. You have supported me no matter where I am or what I am doing. Thank you!
Peace,
Light,
And Love,
Alyssa
