Oh Buster, what a life you lead,
The Marco polo of your breed,
Travelling the world to greet a friend,
To your adventures there’s no end.
What energy-what loads of fun!
All the miles you have to run!
Our lazy dogs you put to shame;
This poem was especially written for Julie Gaffney (Breeder of Buster)
ODE TO MAM AND DAD
I'm soft, so cute and cuddly-I am a Bichon Frise,
I know I can be naughty but I do try hard to please.
I live with Carol and Peter and dear old doggy Zak
and then there's always Smokey - did they really need a CAT?
My first name is Buster and they say I'm quite a lad
But I want to write some verses for my doggy Mam and Dad.
I'm not much of a poet but I'll do the best I can
And I hope I'll be forgiven if the lines don't really scan.
Mam Angel and Dad Monty live with my best friend Adele
And their owner Julie, the two-legged one, as well
Adele is Julies helper and guides her on our walks
We trot along beside her and have lots of doggy talks
While all our owners chat about is their peculiar weather
(Is there nothing better to discuss when two-legs get together)
Now there are lots of owners who teach doggies to play dead
But Julie goes one better and plays dead herself instead.
So Mam and Dad bounce round her and try to wake her up.
Is there another two-legs who acts just like a pup?
So who is in that joyful pack a-tumbling on the floor?
It's my Mam, my Dad and dear Adele with the two-legs they adore.
I wish-HELP- there's the clippers- I'm going on the run!
Ta ta for now I'll see you soon-
Buster, your loving son.
