Me = a pretty quiet kid whose mind never shuts up.

Name's Leah. I was born in Miami, FL in 1991 on October 16th (you sooo care, don't you?). Yeah, on a Wednesday. I can honestly say that many years ago I was not much different than I am today (but I am taller and stuff). I've always liked to do my own thing (what kid doesn't?) and as far back as I can remember, I've remained in my own little world and had this crazy big imagination.

I spend a good amount of time reading. I read so much that my eyes are on the verge of going on strike *imagines eyes holding picket signs and marching back and forth* I'm a li'l bit obsessed with astronomy and quantum physics (though I probably know relatively nothing about these things, so it's not a good idea to discuss them with me heh). I'm a bit of a grammar/spelling freak. I've always spoken well (except for now), but way back in the day I was a horrible writer and speller. Owning websites, writing the content, and just being on the interwebs helped me in this area a lot. I think math is cool and stuff, and I'm pretty good at it, but I don't like it. :)

I love to draaaw (I didn't mean to put so many a's in there but I kept it cause I find it funny), play video games, think (and I do this way too much), play guitar (I do not do this enough), photograph, play video games, and a lot more stuff that I don't feel like mentioning cause I'd rather be playing video games right now.

Music is and has been a huge part of my life. My dad was a professional musician as I was growing up. I didn't learn anything I know about music from him though (I love him but he's a bad teacher)... alright maybe a couple things, but not much. My taste leans (*imagines a tongue leaning against a wall*) more towards rock and classic rock. I love the classical stuff too. I'm not close-minded (or close-eared?), and am open to most types of music as long as it's not rap or ya know, retarded.

I like animals. You should too. I've had many many furry family members throughout my life, but for right now I have 1 dog: Darry (Darling), 4 cats: Jussy (Jesse), Thingy (yep it's her name now), Smokey, Zoe... and I also have 5 cute little fish whose names are 1fish, 2fish, 3fish, 4fish, and 6fish. RIP 5fish.

This is the most worstly written 'About Me' ever. Yeah, worstly. If you actually read all of that, you must feel really poopy.

I'll write a better one later.

Me and Web Design

I guess I shall flood this page some more with boring info on how I got into web design (and how I never really improved since I started). It all began early in 2003 when my family and I got our first (working, and not 100 years old) computer. I was 11 years old and freakin' psyched. I'd been playing around with them ancient ones for the longest time, and I was ready for something sparkly and new (course it didn't really sparkle heh). The greatest part was that this one had a fan to cool it off so it wouldn't explode if you used it more than 5 minutes. Yeah. So anyways, I first started wanting to create web pages back in 2002, but could never get the job done on the (smoking) old computer. Great ol' AOL had this thing called Easy Designer, and boy did I have a great time with that. The pages looked like crap, but at the time I was very proud of them. I can still remember that awesome mango background, ahaha.

On one bright and sunny day (well, it could have been raining, I don't remember) I discovered FREEWEBS (dot) com. *Angels sing* Greatest day of my life right there. After searching and searching for countless hours, (wasting my childhood), I finally found a (semi) decent webhost that I didn't have to pay for. I think I've owned more than 50 websites on here, counting all the ones I've ever created. All of them were stupid, of course, uh, but back to... whatever I was just talking about... um, oh yes. I used pre-made templates for the longest time and had absolutely no idea what HTML was (I still hardly know). I was 13 years old when I began teaching myself how to use it (and it was very frustrating, might I add). I spent hours upon hours figuring out what worked and what didn't work. I finally got fairly good at it (at least in my 13-year-old eyes) and had my first HTML-designed website (they're all made out of html, but you know what I mean, shut up). Around the same time, I actually got hosted by an awesome kid (whom I don't talk to anymore... I don't know why, it's a shame, huh?). She helped me out a lot with HTML, though it's not like she really had a choice; I asked her billions of questions all the time. Sadly, she closed her site, and so I then crawled back to freewebs.

When I was 14-15, I had had a pretty cool thing going. My site got a fair amount of visitors and (even though it was designed by me) it looked kind of nifty. I was so obsessed with web design that I was at the point of even wanting to make it my career. Of course that has changed since then.

When I turned 16, I was gradually losing my interest in having a website. I was bored with it. That's also the year when I went through a lot of changes, you know, growing up and stuff. Now, at 17, I'm not as into web design as I used to be (I'm not really into it at all lol), but I feel a bit incomplete going without a place of my own on the web. As ugly as it is, I call it home.
