Monologue

Desperate Measures should have been the end.  Desperate Measures should have been the first and last time the world would witness Mystic get anywhere near the beautiful, lovely features of yours truly, your world heavyweight champion Glory Braddock.

Oh but no….thanks to that bumbling bozo the clown Brian Blades causing a no contest, Mystic and I have to go another round, this time within the confines of a steel cage.

We’ve been there before, Mystic and I.  We’ve been there twice, actually.  He and Brian Zane won the tag team championship from Angela and I inside of a steel cage.  Congrats to him.  Then later on I would go on to win the world heavyweight championship in the triple cage Apocalypse structure.  Go me!

So here it is.  Mystic versus Glory, one more time, in yet another steel cage match.  It seems that these cage matches are always good for solving our problems.

I intend to make damn sure that this particular steel cage match solves OUR problems once and for all.

The fact is that I am done playing nice.  I am done playing softball.  Its all over as of now.  I shouldn’t have had to face Mystic in the first place but now that I have to face him a second damn time on Fever inside of a steel cage, well, I will make sure everything counts.  I will make sure nothing is left.  I will make sure that none of Mystic’s body is left.

People look at me, they listen to my jovial ways and watch as I play my pranks on unsuspecting little gits, and they think that I have no sadistic bone in my body.

I can be bloodthirsty if necessary.  I can be a killer.  All it takes is for the right buttons to be pushed.

The world of GDW had better get ready because my buttons have been pushed.  The killer instinct within Glory Braddock has been released and she’s going to go wild on Mystic.

If you have any intelligence in your body, Mystic, then you will go into this match scared shitless, because you really don’t have any idea what you are about to step foot into.

End Monologue

Desperate Measures came and went and at the end of the day Glory Braddock retained her GDW World Heavyweight Championship.

But it was not without controversy.  Many say that Mystic had Glory beat after connecting with Mystic’s Dreams.  But we will never know, for just as Mystic was about to go for the cover, Brian Blades ran down and assaulted them both, causing a no contest.

Brian Blades cost Mystic the world heavyweight title and that should have been the end of it.  Instead what is going to take place is that Glory and Mystic will fight one more time for both the Revolution and World Heavyweight titles.  Only this time it will be held within the confines of a steel cage.

Glory is no stranger to a steel cage.  She has been in a total of three steel cage matches during the course of her wrestling career.  One pitted her and Angela Jameson in a tag team title match against Mystic and Brian Zane.  Glory and Angela lost.  Another was back at Game Over in the triple cage Apocalypse structure where Glory won the world heavyweight title.  And if you peel the onion back even farther, you might remember that Glory participated in a GDW Warzone Match, a sick and twisted combination of an endurance match and a cage match.

Glory knows her way around a steel cage.  She has her history in steel cage matches.  The question now is can she defeat Mystic in a steel cage match on Friday Night Fever?

And as if Mystic weren’t the only thing on her mind, Glory also has to deal with the kidnap of her father Glen Braddock.

Glen and Glory have always been close.  Almost like best friends rather than just father and daughter.  Glory has always been Glen’s little girl.

And now he’s been kidnapped.  Glory refuses to think the worst, however.  The worst, being, that he is dead.  Glory already lost her mother when she committed suicide.  She could not imagine Glen being dead and gone as well.

Salvatore Kingsley wishes Glory would get her mind off of Glen and focus it on more important matters.  As far as Glory knows, she thinks that he is referring to her upcoming championship match against Mystic.  But, as important as that match is, Salvatore Kingsley has other things in mind for Glory Braddock.

The scene opens out in front of the huge Collins Estate in Palm Beach County, Florida.  A long black limousine pulls up to the front door.  As grand as the limousine looks, the luxury of Collins Estate makes it look like a pauper’s wagon by comparison.

The limo driver exits and walks around to the back.  He opens the door and out steps Salvatore Kingsley.  Following him is the reigning GDW World Heavyweight Champion Glory Braddock.  The dress is a rich shade of olive green, which seems to contrast nicely with Glory’s skin tone and hair color. A sea of multi colored sequins trails down from the sweetheart neckline to somewhere around the mid thigh region, allowing breaks of the dresses chiffon material to poke through. The dress is held up by a pair of thin spaghetti straps.  Her hair is straightened and hangs down past her shoulders, looking very styled and posh. A pair of simple black heels compliments the look.  Salvatore Kingsley is attired in a black and white suit combo.

The look etched across Glory’s face tells the whole story: she would rather not be at this party right now.  She wouldn’t exactly be up for preparing for her cage match against Mystic either.  But she’d much rather be doing that than be here at this party.  She just doesn’t feel right partying when her father is missing.

Kingsley, though, will have none of it.  As they walk arm in arm towards the entrance Salvatore leans over to whisper into her ear.

Kingsley: Please, Ms. Braddock, do try and enjoy yourself tonight.

Glory: I wish it were that easy, mate.

Kingsley frowns.  He knows that she is still focusing too much attention on her father.  And when she’s not doing that, she’s thinking about her championship steel cage match against Mystic.

This is a bad thing.

Salvatore Kingsley recognizes that Glory is still too distracted.  He hopes this party of Meagan’s will help loosen her up.  He hopes that it will help her to forget about her problems.

And if not, then he always has a plan B.

Kingsley: Just remember, your friend Meagan Collins is throwing this party.

Glory rolls her eyes.

Glory: I know, I know, and I should try to enjoy myself for her sake, right?  Bloody hell, you sound like my mum….

Glory immediately stops as she mentions her mother.  The mention of her mother just brings back more painful memories as well as the shocking realization that both her parents may very well be dead now.

No, she thinks to herself.  That cannot be true.  Her father has to be alive.  He just has to be.

She doesn’t know how she’d get by without him.

The front door is opened by the doorman for Glory and Salvatore.  Immediately as they enter they hear fancy music being played.  The large ball room is decorated to the tilt.  Glory casts a glance at the tables.  The silverware, trays, and plates are all gold plated.

Meagan, indeed, has gone all out for this party.

This kind of luxury and comfort is in a deep contrast to the pain and suffering that both Glory and Mystic will have to endure on Friday Night Fever when they compete inside of the steel cage for the World Heavyweight and Revolution Championships.  Glory just hopes that she can pull off the win.

Glory and Salvatore start to walk over towards a table but are almost immediately stopped by the approaching Meagan Collins.

Meagan: GLORY!

Glory and Salvatore turn around.  Glory grins from ear to ear as her friend approaches.  Glory walks over and embraces her in a hug.  Neither lady notices that Salvatore rolls his eyes upon Meagan’s approaching.  He wishes she weren’t here.  She, too, is another distraction.  But she is a distraction that he’ll have to just put up with for the time being.

Meagan: I am so glad you decided to come, Glory.  This party is for you after all.

Glory furrows her brow out of confusion.

Glory: For me?

Meagan: Well for all of Suffrage!  We did win big time at Desperate Measures, did we not?

Glory shrugs her shoulders.  She’s not sure she would call two wins, a loss, and a no contest a big win but still, The Mercenaries have been defeated and Suffrage is the only group left in GDW now.  So perhaps there is reason to celebrate?

Glory: I guess.

Meagan: Of course we did!  And look at who all is here….

Meagan points over to a corner.  Shawn Atlas is here yelling at a French poodle dog.

Meagan: Shawn Atlas came.

Meagan points over to another corner.  Mike Michaels is making out with his wife Coral Marie.

Meagan: Mikey is here.  And then Matt well…….he couldn’t come.

Glory: He couldn’t?

Meagan: Nope, he’s busy plotting world domination or something.  But anyway, you and your advisor go, mingle, and have fun.  Ok?

Glory nods.

Glory: I’ll do my best, mate.

Glory sighs.  Doing her best is about all she can do.  As she said, she’s not exactly in the partying mood tonight.  Her father is missing and she has to face off against a lunatic in a cage match in a week for her world title.

Glory walks over and finds a table to sit down at.  Salvatore quickly follows her.  Playing the role of gentlemen he pulls out the chair for her, allowing Glory to sit down before scooching it back in for her.  Salvatore then sits down across from her at the table.

Kingsley: You don’t look happy.

Glory frowns.

Glory: I’ll tell you what, love, lets see your father get kidnapped and see what it does to your mood.

Kingsley: Yes, I know, I am very sorry about your father.  But you should try to enjoy yourself, if only for tonight.

Glory opens her mouth to respond but then she feels a tapping on her shoulder.  She turns to see her tag team partner and Suffrage stablemate Angela Jameson standing there.

Angela stands there, dressed in a simple, yet elegant floor length sleeveless royal purple gown with silver beaded straps and matching trim along the edge of the low back. Her shoes are simple silver heeled sandals and her hair is curled slightly, with the sides pulled back from her face and being held in place by a simple silver comb.

Angela: There you are. I……oh, I’m sorry. Am I interrupting anything?

Kingsley shakes his head.

Kingsley: Not at all.  You ladies talk while I get a drink.

Kingsley gets up and walks over towards the refreshments table.  Glory sighs and shakes her head.

Glory: Fancy seein’ you here, mate.

Angela: I almost didn't come, given what happeend at Desperate Measures. But Meagan DID say that this was for Suffrage, and really, who can say no to both that and to her?

Glory shakes her head.

Glory: I could.  I wanted to.  But Kingsley there wanted me to come.  Said it would help clear my head.

Glory laughs.

Glory: But how the hell can you party when your father has been kidnapped?

Angela: Good point. If it were my father, I'd be partying like there was no tomorrow. Have you heard anything about your dad?

Glory: Not a word.  And yet I can’t help but think this somehow ties into my wrestling career.  I can’t help but think that someone is out to get me.  I doubt its that Homeless Hobo though.  Kidnapping my father would’ve been a brilliant mind game to play heading into our steel cage encounter but I doubt Mystic contains the mental acumen to perform such a task.

Angela: Mystic doesn't strike me as the rocket scientist or MENSA type. How he became Union president is beynd me. Anywho, are there any other relatives that you have besides Angelica that you could get ahold of? Someone who might know something else?

Glory frowns.

Glory: I contacted all my relatives back in England and they are all just as clueless.  I don’t exactly feel right talking to Angelica about it.  Of course there is Kayla……

Angela chews on her lower lip, contemplating her thoughts.

Angela: Stop me anytime you want, but it MIGHT be worth checking into. Maybe for two minutes, this whole war can be put on the back burner and you can talk to the lesser of the two evils without wanting to crack some skulls.

Glory: Funny you should suggest that, mate.  Angelica spoke to me at Desperate Measures.  Wished me luck in my match.  Didn’t believe her for a second but you know, she reminded me that despite our differences……we are still cousins.

Angela: Yes, yes you are. Still, it might be worth looking into. What have you got to lose?

Glory nods.

Glory: Quite right, mate.  Quite right.

At that time Kingsley steps back into view, sitting back down at the table with his drink.

Kingsley: I hope you two ladies enjoyed yourselves.  And I hate to be a bother, but Ms. Jameson I have to ask you to give us some time alone for just a moment.  My client and I have an important matter to discuss.

Angela: Not a problem. I was going to go find Meagan anyway.

Angela gets up and goes off in search of Meagan.  This leaves Kingsley and Glory alone.

Glory is not happy that Kingsley ran Angela off.  And she is about to let him have it.

Kingsley: Glory….

Glory looks up at Kingsley and shoots him an angry look.

Glory: That’s Braddock, love.  Ms Braddock to you and anyone else who wants to talk to me.  Got that?

Salvatore nods.

Kingsley: Right.  Ms. Braddock, you really need to calm yourself.  Try to enjoy the night.  Your friends are here.  Why don’t you mingle with them and have fun?

Glory: Because I cannot have fun!

Glory has had enough.  She gets up out of her seat and walks over to Kingsley.  She stands over him, glaring down at him menacingly.

Glory: My father is gone.  I have no bloody idea where he is.  And somehow I have to put that out of my mind and focus on a match against that homeless idiot Mystic.  And its not just any match, mind you.  It’s a steel cage match!  Do you have any idea what that means?

Kingsley: I….

Glory shakes her head and speaks up, not allowing Kingsley to answer.

Glory: No, you don’t have any idea what that means.  But let me tell you what, mate, my world title is in major jeopardy, my father is missing, and my entire world is coming apart around me.  So I apologize if I am not exactly in a partying mood.

Glory turns and storms away towards the bathrooms.  She’s had enough of Kingsley’s crap.  She just wants to be alone right now and think.

Maybe its time to rethink her future with Kingsley.  Sure, as her advisor he has helped her gain a world championship, but he doesn’t appear to be too kind or caring towards her personal issues right now.

Glory enters the women’s bathroom.  This will be a good, private place to think.  She hopes.

Glory checks herself out in the mirror.  What she sees is a picture of loveliness on the outside.  On the inside is a warrior hell bent on retaining her championship by any means necessary at Friday Night Fever.  This is a woman with mixed emotions: those of fear and anguish and those of anger and determination.

Suddenly without warning a hand reaches around behind Glory and covers her mouth with a washcloth containing some liquid!  She tries to get a good look at who it is……Eva!  Eva Draco!  That’s all she can make out before Gory blacks out.

--------------------

Glory was blacked out and unconscious for God knows how long until she finally wakes up.  She blinks several times and rubs her eyes.  She stands up and tries to regain her bearings.  She looks around but doesn’t recognize where she is.  It looks like an old church building but there is no crucifix at the front.  Instead a statue of a dragon is mounted.

There’s one other oddity about this place.  On the altar is a large sharp knife used for sacrifices and next to the knife is a body, the unconscious body of Glen Braddock.

Glory: Daddy!

Glory rushes up towards the altar.  She pushes her head up against his chest.  Thankfully she hears a heartbeat.

“He is alive.”

Glory spins around.  To her surprise she finds Salvatore Kingsley and Eva Draco standing there.  Both are wearing strange red robes.

Glory: Sally, Eva….what the bloody hell is this about?!

Kingsley: This is about destiny, Ms. Braddock.  In particular your destiny.

Glory: Destiny?!  My father is here on this fookin’ slab, apparently you’re the cause, and all you can ramble about is some bloody destiny crap?!

Kingsley nods.

Kingsley: Its all about destiny, Glory.  You see, Ms. Draco and I are part of an ancient group calling ourselves the Order of the Dragon.  The Order’s sole purpose for always has been to influence and control all parts of world government, whether it be political or corporate.  Members of The Order help give other members the life that they want, that they deserve.

Kingsley nods towards Eva, as if signaling her to continue the speech.

Draco: But the Order lately has died out.  Mr. Kingsley and I are among the last surviving ancestors of former members of the Order.  It is our hope that we can bring it back to its former glory.  Each chapter is composed of four parts and each individual is one of the four parts.  And we would like you to complete us, become the fourth part, creating the first Order of the Dragon chapter in nearly a century.

Glory shakes her head vehemently.

Glory: Are you two loopers?!  What the hell are you two gits talking about?!  I’m not about to join any cult!  Besides, there are only two of you.

Draco: You are mistaken.  There is a third.

Without warning another hooded individual steps into view.  They remove their hood to reveal their identity…..Glory’s mother, Mary Ford!

Glory: …..mum?  But you’re….

Mary nods.

Mary: That’s right, Gloria.  I had to have you believe that as part of your transition period.  You needed to become one of us and enduring that was part of the process.  In fact, everything Mr. Kingsley and Ms. Draco have done for you lately has been part of the process.  There is just one final piece of the puzzle left that will forever make you a member of our Order.

Draco: A human sacrifice.

Glory’s eyes grow wide with terror.  She turns her head back down to notice her still unconscious father with the sacrificial knife next to his body.  That’s what the knife is for.  That’s why he was kidnapped.  They expect Glory to murder her own father.

Glory: I can’t do it.

Mary: But Glory, think of what you could have by accepting membership in the Order.  You would be superior even to your cousins.

Glory’s curiosity is immediately peaked.

Glory: Superior to….Angelica?

Mary nods.

Mary: Indeed.  She could’ve been a part of all this but we chose you instead.

Glory is stunned.  She doesn’t know how to respond to all of this.  She isn’t given much time to think about it, though, for Eva slowly starts to approach Glory.  Eva takes the knife in her hand and hands it to Glory.

Draco: Take this knife and use it to take the life of this pitiful soul.  Him breathing his last breath will seal his fate and grant you membership in our Order.

Glory grasps the knife in her hand.  Her eyes steel up with determination.  There is no indecision here.  She knows what to do.

Glory drops the knife onto the ground.  She shakes her head.

Glory: I will not do it.

Mary: What do you mean?!

Glory: Exactly what I said, mum!  You said that this was my destiny, that I was chosen.  You said that I would be superior to Angelica…..BULLSHIT!  It’s a load of crap!  You wanted Angelica but you couldn’t get her.  I was the sloppy seconds!

Kingsley: Well it is true that Angelica had crossed our minds initially……

Glory: And that is your group is full of shite and I will not kill my father!

Mary: Listen to reason, Glory.  Your father is a bum and doesn’t deserve to live.

Glory shakes her head.

Glory: I’ve made up my mind.

Kingsley reaches into his robe and produces a gun.

Kingsley: Then you’ve made a fatal mistake, child.

Suddenly the door is heard being kicked in.  Everyone turns around to see police charging into the room.  Kingsley, realizing he is beaten, drops his gun and the police immediately get to work arresting him, Mary, and Eva.

Bringing up the rear after all the police have come in are Angelica and Kayla Jones.  Despite their in ring differences, the trio meet in the center of the room and embrace in a hug.

Angel: Oh God, Glory, are you ok?

Glory: Yeah, I’m fine.  But how did you find me?

Kayla grins.

Kayla: You can thank Angela for that.  She saw your associates carrying you off and thought it looked just a little suspicious so she called the police….

Angel: ….and us.

Glory casts Angelica a doubtful look.  Angelica responds by shrugging her shoulders.

Angel: What?  I guess Angela isn’t as evil as I thought.

Kayla: The important thing is that you are safe.

Indeed Glory is safe.  But she just found out that her mother faked her death and was part of a freakish cult all of her life and she never knew.  She also is rethinking her cousins, Angelica and Kayla.  Glory no longer thinks they are as bad as Meagan perhaps makes them out to be.

Tonight changed Glory’s life forever.

The Promo

Friday Night Fever will bear witness to one of the biggest main events in the history of the show as Mystic and Glory Braddock face off for both the Revolution and World Heavyweight titles in a steel cage match.

The last time they fought was at Desperate Measures and it ended in a no contest thanks to interference from Brian Blades.  This time, thanks to the steel cage, there will be no outside interference.  Glory and Mystic will both step into the cage but only one will step out with all the gold.

The winner will most likely end up defending the world title at Survival of the Fittest in the elimination triangle match that will feature Glory,  Mystic, and Brian Blades.  Glory Braddock wants to be the one defending the gold at that pay per view and she wants to finally own a major victory over Mystic.

Our scene opens out on a hill overlooking what appears to be a stockade wall made up of brown wooden boards.  It’s a bright sunny day out and the sky is blue.  It’s a nice day for a promo, don’t ya think?

It is at that time that Glory Braddock steps out into view of the camera.  She is wearing blue jeans, flip flops, and a black “GDW” t-shirt.  Her long dark hair hangs down to shoulder length and she has her GDW World Heavyweight Championship title belt draped over her right shoulder.

Glory: Bleedin’ deadly site, isn’t it mate?  If you’re not sure what this “bleedin’ deadly site” is, then allow me to educate you.  This is Andersonville Prison, officially Camp Sumter, and it was the largest Confederate military prison during the American Civil War.  Andersonville is infamous for being one of the worst prisons for soldier treatment during the Civil War.  In this lovely place known as the south, at least.

This applies to you and me, Mystic, because we are competing in a steel cage match for the world heavyweight and revolution championships.  Two titles up for grabs in a steel cage.  We’ll be enduring some pretty harsh conditions all for what we believe in.

Glory hoists the world title belt high over her head.

Glory: This right here.  The blood we shed, the sweat, the tears, all of it for this.  Is it worth it, you ask?  Ask the Union troops who had to endure the tough conditions at Andersonville if its worth it to fight on and they’ll tell you damn right its worth it to fight on.

But what about you, Homeless Homo, do you even have what it takes to fight on?

Glory grins and flicks her hair back.

Glory: Andersonville Prison was frequently undersupplied with food. Even when sufficient quantities were available, the supplies were of poor quality and poorly prepared. During the summer of 1864, Union prisoners suffered greatly from hunger, exposure, and disease. Within seven months, about a third of them died from dysentery and scurvy and were buried in mass graves, the standard practice by Confederate prison authorities at Andersonville. Dorence Atwater, a soldier in the 2nd New York Cavalry kept a record of deaths at the camp.  The water supply from Stockade Creek became polluted when too many Union prisoners were housed by the Confederate authorities within the prison walls.

That’s just a taste of the kind of conditions that soldiers endured back in the day here at Andersonville.  And while you and I will be enduring some harsh conditions, our conditions will still be just a tad bit different, won’t they mate?

The scene slowly changes.  The scene of Andersonville fades out.  We fade back in and we now see Glory standing inside of a wrestling ring.  The wrestling ring is surrounded by a steel cage.

Glory: Let me tell you something, Mystic; I know your history.  I know that extreme matches are your forte.  I know, therefore, that most people will be betting on you to win this steel cage match because, in their feeble little minds, this is your home turf and these are your rules.  This is your game.

Glory shakes her head.

Glory: I cry bullshit on that one!  What they don’t realize and, perhaps, what you don’t even realize, is that my battles with you lately have changed me.  I mean, how can you not be changed after competing in hardcore matches, steel cage of death matches, and Apocalypse Matches?

Do you get the picture yet, you Hungarian Horse’s Arse?  Is it sinking in yet you Homosexual Hero?  I’m ready for you in any type of match you can put me in!  I am the world heavyweight champion not by chance, not by luck, but because I am the total fucking package!  I can beat you in a straight up match, I can beat you in the air, I can beat you in a street fight, and on Friday Night Fever I will prove to you that I can beat you inside of a steel cage.

You would’ve lost to me at Desperate Measures were it not for Blades.  You know that deep down in your gut.  But this time Blades won’t be there to save your sorry arse.  Its just you and me in the cage.

See you there, you manky git.
