Annual Company Picnic Pics at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
The event began at 9am and lasted until the boardwalk closed. For me, I took advantage of the unlimited rides. I began my adventure onto the Hurricane ride. At first glance of the ride, you would think it looked kinda weak (cause of how slow it moved on the turns and how small the humps were)... but trust me, it was nothing but weak. =) The turns were so sharp and quick, it could throw you around the seat (at 4.5Gs) if you weren't holding on. On that ride, my cell phone fell out of my pocket and landed onto the other seat next to me. Luckily the other guy next to me was able to hold onto it. *whew* After the ride was over, it felt good. What a rush!! =D My hair was all messed up after that too. We were going to go onto that ride again, but decided to try the more aggressive ride... the "Giant Dipper". Luckily we did, cause on the second run of the Hurricane, the ride broke down and passengers aboard the ride were stuck at the top. Click here to see an image. So on our way to the Giant Dipper ride, we took the Sky Glider ride over there. This ride is basically like a ski lift that takes you across the other side of the boardwalk. It's for those that are lazy to walk, like us. =P According to the statistics, the Giant Dipper ride attracted more than 50 million people since it opened in 1924. The ride itself was like less than 2 minutes long, traveling at speeds up to 55 MPH. This ride was the coolest. If you are a roller coaster enthusiast, you definitely have to try this. It was fun!! =) From beginning to the end, it was a rush all the way. I don't want to ruin it for you, so you'll just have to go and try it out for yourself. =) To view a map of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, click here.
