Watching Paint Dry
An Informational Site about The Hobby as Garrett sees it
What's this? No buttons? No animations? No headers or footers or tables or any of those fancy widgets you have come to know and love? This site is about as exciting as... well, watching paint dry. Hence the namesake. Well, that and the whole painting miniatures thing. You get it. You're not stupid. It's also a bit on the image-heavy side, so if you're on 56K, look out!
Anyhow, clearly I'm not claiming to be the be-all end-all father of all hobbyists. It's far from me to be that presumptious - I've only been in the hobby for four years off and on, with emphasis on the off. There are hundreds, if not thousands of websites out there that offer loads of excellent professional tutorials on everything from assembly to showcasing - in fact, I will probably link to many of these from time to time, since I don't find it necessary to constantly reinvent the wheel. The main reason for this site's existence is because I put up a tutorial or two on my mini painting group and got a lot of positive feedback. That made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to put up a more dedicated site for any other tutorials I might happen to come up with.
This site applies function over form. It's not pretty, but it gets the job done quickly and cleanly, and that's what's most important to me. I'm not promising daily or even monthly updates, but every time I come up with a new technique, a handy tip, or just want to show off the new minis I finished, it'll go up - so, if you're still reading at this point, bookmark this site, make a sticky-note, or just log it away in your photographic memory for later, because you never know when this stuff will come in handy.

My Photo Galleries - Poke around, I've got all sorts of this and that and even a bit of the other one in there.
Brushthralls - Responsible for a lot of work for Privateer Press, these guys have quite a few helpful tutorials. Of particular note is this one, which is recommended reading for any hobbyist. The Hobby is too a sport!
The Troll Hole - A member of a mini painting group I'm in. He almost won a Bronze Daemon once! Serious! His gallery is impressive, and he also has a few neat little tutorials and uses those internetty widgets which I am so recalcitrant about.
Wee Toy Soldiers - A nifty little site. He has a lot of money-saving ideas which will probably save you money!
Privateer Press - Why are you still playing Games Workshop games? You are silly. Go over here and learn to play Warmachine and Hordes. They're a lot more fun, rely on skill and cunning rather than luck to play, can be played with three or four miniatures, and the starter rules are free! I won't even mention the well-sculpted models and incredibly cool setting.
