When we lost our first baby January 26, 1993. We were devastated. I can still remember the doctor telling me that there was no heartbeat. I can still remember laying in the hospital and letting out a cry of just pure heartbreak. I was handed nothing. I was sent home to lose my baby and had nothing to hold on to.
My world would be rocked again July 01, 2000 when our little Mariah Belle Died in our arms 1 1/2 hours after she was born. The nurses gently dressed our baby in a gown and took simple pictures and got her footprints for us handing us a box to keep our things in. I asked who made it and all I was told was it was a little grandpa and they were worried about not being able to offer this to families when he was to old to make them. That box was something I cherish and the thought of "I don't know what we are going to do for other grieving families" was something that stuck in my soul.
I knew when 3 years later our charity started out of a vision God had given me over time that God was going to use my losses to help other grieving families during this hard time. There are many different area's our charity works through but this is sadly one of the most needed and requested things we do. And that is to provide memory boxes free to grieving families. No matter what gestation your baby passed away at HAIN wants to be there to offer a box to you.
We know its not your sweet angel, but we hope to accomplish is that every family have something that was handcrafted just for your family so you could hold your babies memorial items into. A parent or hospital can contact us and request a box or hospitals can request up to 15 boxes at a time, anytime to offer free to families. In these boxes you may find picture frames, small plush toy, albums and so many other items. We even offer rosaries for catholic families.
We have given out several thousand memory boxes since HAIN started some have even included musical parts.
You do not have to donate to get a box, however if you wish to this would be helpful in insuring other families can also receive a free memory box. You can even request with your donation that a box be given in memory or honor of your loved one.
