NEWS UPDATES
The HP Connection is going bye bye! But not for long!
It is sad that this day had to come so soon, but I am closing the site. It just isn't getting enough visitors, and I don't like the prices for hosting. Now for the good news! I am building a huge mega site along the lines of ones such as Mugglenet and MugglesOnline. It will to be called The Harry Potter Connection. This site has an awesome layout, tons of content, and its own domain. It will be completed in around 3-4 months, and promises to be a VAST improvement on this site.
So I guess this is it for now! GOODBYE AND LOOKOUT FOR THE NEW HP CONNECTION...Coming Soon....

Thursday July 29 2004-- Jo expecting a third child!
Jo has announced on her official site that she is expecting a third child! She says that it's expected by next year and shouldn't interfer with her timing in book six. This leads us to believe that the Half Blood Prince could be released winter 2004 or early 2005. Of course this is all speculation, but it's always possible.
From me here at the HP Connection, Congratulations Jo!!!!

Monday July 26 2004-- Jo updates the faq section of her site!
JKR has updated her site with new information on the Half Blood Prince. We have learned these new things thanks to the info:
Arthur Weasely will not become the Minister of Magic
Tom Riddle is not the Half Blood Prince
There is no plot relevance between Chamber of Secrets and the Half Blood Prince
This answers quite a few questions, but brings up even more. Hopefully, Jo will once more open up the door to let us see a new clue.
Thanks HPANA,

Friday July 23, 2004-- Dan Radcliffe hit the big 1-5 today!!
Daniel Radcliffe, star of the Harry Potter movies, has turned 15 today! He is currently two years younger than Harry Potter, who turns 17 on July 31st. This is incidentely on the same day as JK Rowling's birthday. So from me, here at The Harry Potter Connection... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
Monday July 19, 2004-- New Poll on JKRowling.com!
There is a brand new poll posted on JKR's Official Site! It is similar to the first poll, in which it has three questions about what is coming up next in the books. The three questions this time around are:
1) Is Percy working undercover for any secret organization/boss?
2) Where has Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail) been since the end of 'Goblet of Fire'?
3) What did Dumbledore's howler to Aunt Petunia mean? ('Remember my last, Petunia'?)
So far, the third question is leading the pack with 57% of the total votes. The second question is dragging a bit with only 23% of the votes and the first question is totally lagging with only 19% of the votes.
Thanks HPANA

Friday July 16 2004-- John Williams may not do the score for Harry Potter 4
Music composer, John Williams, may not compose the music for the fourth HP film. Two very reliable soures said that he wouldn't be able to do the fourth film because of scheduling problems. They said things could change, however, in the upcoming months.

I have finally put up the brand new forums! It is a place you can share your ideas and thoughts with fellow Harry Potter fans about anything in the HP universe. P.S. I am still begging for a small contribution so I can purchase the Premium Upgrading service on this site. The price range are as follows. One month-- $4.75, Six month-- $24, One year-- $42. I am currently trying to save up to purchase the six month package, but I can only do that with your help. Thanks!
Friday July 16 2004-- IMDB Has a movie listing for The Half Blood Prince.
The Internet Movie Database has listed a movie page for the sixth Harry Potter book, The Half Blood Prince. They have put up a release date for 2008, but considering we don't even have a release date for the sixth book yet, this is probably an estimation.
Thanks mugglenet!

Thursday July 15 2004-- The Harry Potter Connection needs help.
I really like the site I've been building, but unfortunately it's on a a free hosted server, so I get jack features for updating it. That's why I'm officially asking for help, since I can't afford it and my Uncle wont buy the service for me. I need $24 to upgrade to the Premium service. If I get that, all the pages I've had to delete will be reinstated, updated, and ready for your use. All I'm asking is perhaps $2 or $3 dollars and if I get 13 people to donate, I'll be able to buy the service I need. I am pleading for some help, because otherwise this site will never grow past a simple free-hosted fan base. If you are interested in making a contribution, please e-mail me. It's only with your help, that I'll ever be able to upgrade and make this site grow. Thanks.

Thursday July 15 2004-- Potter fan mail leads to the close of a Buckner, Missouri Post Office
Apparantly a 16-yr old fan tried to send a letter to Harry Potter and thought it would travel faster if she sprinkled "floo powder" over it. This lead to the closing of the Post office and the calling of biohazards team because the white powder had spilled from the envelope. The powder in question turned out to be nothing more than harmless talcum powder.

Thursday July 15 2004-- Forums soon to be up on The Harry Potter Connection.
I am happy to announce that I will very soon be adding a Forum section to my site. It, since I don't have unlimited pages yet, will be replacing the avatar page, which will be back along with editorials and contests once I have premium updating services for my site. Until then, continue to enjoy the site.
~David
UPDATE: I have added the new Forums!! It is called The HP Connecting Forum and it is a place for HP fans to join up and share ideas. Have fun there.

Wednesday July 14 2004-- Another page has been temporarily disabled:
Yup! I had to cut another page. I figured that the Editorial page would be more successful once I published my site officially. In it's place, I am creating a unique page that I think many of you fans will enjoy. I am going to list all the avatars I find around the web and put them on that page for you guys to have. Continue to send me feedback, and remember this site can only become better with your help. I am looking into a chat server as well, so you guys can chat live about all things Potter. Have a nice day!
