Jack

"Little more than a glance is enough to show you just how small you are."

In the beginning, Jack seems oblivious to the world around him. He lives with his mother, but their financial problems seem nothing next to his concern for why his best friend, Milky-White the cow, isn't milking. When he sets off into the woods he doesn't do too well, but he is taken a step further, into the land of the giants, where despite his terror, he manages to prosper.

Jack manages to get himself into more long term trouble than any of the other characters. While he does become more independant as a result, he comes to value a close relationship more than anything.

Musically:

When Jack parts with his friend in exchange for some beans, he squeezes a whole lot of emotion into his brief parting tune - I Guess This is Goodbye. Soon after he tells the fast paced story of his adventure with Giants in the Sky. He then goes into hiding for a while, but returns to lead the argument in Your Fault, and has a small role in No One is Alone.
