Who is this mysterious man who wanders through the woods, and how does he know so much? He seems to be on the side of the baker and his wife, and the witch seems to know him, but from where?

He certainly manages to have an influence on a number of occasions.

Musically:

It is not until late in the play (No More) that the Mysterious Man gets to perform a number. It is a duet with the baker.

Playing the Mysterious Man:

The Mysterious Man is traditionally played by the same actor who plays the Narrator.
