Q. What is Concentus?
A. Concentus is an original fantasy role play originally started by four friends, myself included. Three of those mods had to back out because of real life issues and not having enough time, as well as other reasons. So, I took over, and while it was hard at first to get it off its feet, I got the role play going with the help of hard working, creative, dedicated role players.
Q. What is the storyline?
A. In the land of Remon, mages are outcasts. Anyone born with a magical
ability is thrown out, if they are lucky. Most are killed at child
birth, so their numbers are few. It’s ‘unnatural’ say most, but these
dying infants have no choice. Sometimes a mother will have a child in
the forest, or a cabin, and save her child by sending them to
neighboring countries. Most of these children grow up with hatred
though, and plots for revenge. They could have had a normal life, grown
up like normal children, but they were raised by alien families, before
finally leaving.
The neighboring country, Yilan, accepts most of these damned
children, caring for them until they are too old. The leader of this
country is sibling to that of Remon, yet their views are slightly
different. It was with marriage that this came about, the sibling that
rules Yilan wed to the Prince there.
In Yilan, hidden from the eyes of either ruler, a group is
forming. A mage has formed a group of those willing to get revenge on
the country that so wronged them because of what they are. They have
managed to gain a few members of Yilan, using their strength with
weapons rather than their magical ability. They have trained themselves
in magic by reading old books, and train the children that are sent
away. They plan to take down Remon, and ruin it as the country has
ruined their lives.
The ruler of Remon is not evil. Mages have always simply been
seen as evil, given the gift of demons and should not be meant to walk
on the same soil. No one dare associate themselves with the demons,
save the brave few from Yilan, and maybe a number of stragglers from
Remon. They want their freedom back, they want their rights, and they
plan to reach this goal using any means possible.
Q. Why were the Mages exiled?
A. It all started with the family of the current King of the Remonian's. Everyone in his family has had 'dark magic,' up until about twenty-three years ago. Around that time, the king, then a prince, was given a little brother. An assumption was made that he, too, would have dark magic within him, but it was not so. When he was about five years old, it was revealed to his older brother and the rest of his family that he had light magic, and it was because of his light magic that he was the first to be cast away to Yalin. His older brother was fearful that his younger sibling would be able to overpower him when older and destroy everything he was meant to do.
Q. What is the Legend of the Council of Elementals?
A. It is said that long ago, a Council of four Elementals- Wind, Water, Earth, and Fire- existed, and taught others the way of magic so that their knowledge could be passed on. They were a peaceful group, looked upon when others were in need. For reasons unknown to most, they were exiled to an island where they, along with their apprentices, are said to be living. However, te map to this island is in the hands of the current King of Remon, making it impossible for the Mages to access. The village that these Elementals had lived in before being exiled was never told the reasons as to why they disappeared, and assumed they were killed by a mysterious force that appeared one ay.
However, there is a second part to this legend. There was also once a council of Dark Elementals. Supposedly, they are the reason for the Elementals being killed. The Dark Elementals came to the current King of Remonia and started training him to use his powers in darker ways. Afraid of being overpowered, it was they who told the prince to exile his younger sibling, along with any other existing magic users in the kingdom.
Q. Where are the kingdoms located?
A. Well, this page has a map that will tell you where they are. Remonia is the bigger of the two countries, and the land originally started out as one big country. The small country of Yalin was once a place known as the "dark land" where very few creatures dwelled. It was there that the magic users were brought. Things were chaotic. The people were afraid, and there was no leader. So one day, a man stepped forward and offered to become the leader of their small country. The people were pretty much all in agreement, and he became the King of Yalin.
Q. Who's involved in the role play?
A. Only a few people so far. I'd say there are about eight of us or so right now. We are no longer as desperate for members as we were, but the more members that join, the better the role play will be and hopefully it'll last longer.
