This Drawing was just sent to me by my Daughter Mellanie for her sister Jeanmarie in honor of the sixth anniversary of Sept 11th . I love you Mellanie and I know Jaime is watching over you and is very proud.
This site is dedicated to all the victims of Sept 11th 2001 and the family members who are still missing them but Before you go any further on this page I want to tell you about the song/video that is playing ,It is sung by one of my favorite artist Reba McEntire of whom I think is the greatest!( and I just told my Daughter Mellanie one day I will meet Reba somehow ,someday) Every song Reba sings goes straight to the heart , from the heart and This song seemed to remind me of my own Daughters, some can take it any way they want but I did see this song in Jeanmarie because of me and I am seeing it in my other Mellanie,but I am also seeing it in myself a little now because of you Jaime. Jeanmarie Wallendorf was born in Brooklyn New York on August 7th 1978 she was a beautiful baby and that was the moment I fell in love with her and that love would only grow and never end. She was a happy baby, she learned quickly with everything and as I look back at her baby book I never realized how quick she did learn and that this is the person she would always be.Jeanmarie also learned from others mistakes and she had learned from my mistakes. This is what drone her to become the wonderful person she was.
Jeanmarie was loved by everyone who knew her,gramps as she would sometimes call my dad, just adored her and he is the one who gave Jeanmarie her nickname
which is Jaime ( he watched her one day and said Jeanmarie was too long) and as for her name Jeanmarie that had come from two people I love very much
that is my Aunt Marie and my Mother Jeanne. There was never a problem I had with Jaime maybe the only things were that she had always been in the way of a cup of tea. the first was a time that I had a cup on the table and she was playing and it fell all over her chest ,my poor baby.then there was the time my Aunt Donna had a cup and Jeanmarie got in the way of that and it spilled on her head ,I know my aunt felt terrible even though we could laugh about it later on as Jaime got older. We always teased her about it we always told her she was left on the doorstep by gypsy's and do you know the poor girl believed us.
we loved to tease her but we loved her so much that we all would do anything for her. she loved everyone but she did have two special pal's and that was Her Aunt donna and uncle Tommy
Aunt Donna and Uncle Tommy they always took care of her no matter what they are great! I could trust them with her no matter what I knew they would not let any harm come to her and they didn't. ( I want to thank them now if I never did )
Jeanmarie's god parents are her uncle Stephen and her Aunt Cathy they loved her as she loved them. I can remember one time when we had gone shopping at a clothing store and my brother Stephen ( now you had to know him what a joker) he had her with him and when I finished shopping heading for the door what do you think I saw? Stephen had Jaime at the front door asking for money I just wanted to crawl away with embrassment and he just laughed and laughed .( no they were not doing it for real )Stephen is no longer with us (rest in peace my brother I love you )
Jeanmarie is the oldest of my five wonderful childeren she has three brothers and one sister and at the time of Sept 11th Joseph was 19,mellanie was 15 ,Christopher was 8 and John was 5
she was wonderful with them all and I know they love and miss her . she was an Idol to my Daughter Mellanie and she was everything to Joseph,Christopher and John .
It is so hard to put into words of how they were,we may not have had alot but we had each other and thats the way it always was and will always be.
We lived in New York until 1987 then we moved to South Florida where she grew up she had good friends when she was young Brian as I mentioned Crystal Mock,April, sorry but I forget the others .
Jeanmarie had stayed with He Aunt Donna and uncle Tommy in New York for awhile when she was a teenager and there is when she meet Vinny Mazzeo ( not the one in the photo)
and so they dated ,they were cute together and when Jaime came back to Florida he had even come afterwards for a visit and they were still together just not in the same state.
After awhile it ended .
When Jaime had gone back to New York with me for her Grandfathers funneral years later she met Vinny again and she wanted to move to N.Y.
and so she did . she had gotten a job and things were fine even though I still worreid about her .
She and Vinny broke up a little while after that she had got a job at a company called edgetrade and this is where she met Joe Wald (ceo)and as Joe has said in an interview with a newspaper
"When I first met her,my first impression was that she was a beautifulgirl that seemed very sharp",as she moved upin his company,getting into operations,he got to know heras someone he
could rely on to get the job done.. she was one of the most reliable ,hard working people he had ever met .
Joe and Jaime fell in love and he said it was more incredible than he could ever imagine.
Jeanmarie left Edgetrade and went to work for Keefe Bruyette and Woods in the Trade Center ( it was better for the relationship)
Jeanmarie and Joe moved into together and were happy she was on her way to achieving her goals in terms of her personal and relationship.goals,as well as professionally",
She had done all the hard work already and it was withen her grasp.
Jeanmarie and Joe had come to Florida for a visit and I was very impressed with Joe and I was happy for Jaime (for them both)
I felt as if I did not have to worry as much anymore even though I did still and she knew that as she would call me even from a plane when they were stuck in the airport
just to let me know everything was allrite, Jaime would do that very often as a matter of fact there was really not a day that went by we did not speak to each other.
Jeanmarie would go and visit her Aunt Donna and Uncle Tommy often and she would go to see her Aunt Cathy and cousins also .
As I sit here I am remembering some things and one of them is that , it was Thanksgiving and she was not coming home (Florida) and she was having holidays with Joe .
well she had gone to Joes parents for dinner and had to go to Aunt Cathy's for dinner and to Aunt Donna's for dinner ."What a Little Piggy"
But you see... Jaime did not want to dissapoint anyone that was one good thing about her and when I think about it more and more she did so many things for people
she cared about even if it meant going out of her way ,another memory has come to me even though it is one that I often think of and that is the time rite before Sept.11th
when she was attending a bachlorette party at a club in the city called Club one .
It was about 2 or 3 in the morning and she called me I answered the phone and she said "MOM! MOM! I got you a photo of Stephen Segal!!
She knew at that time how much I liked him and so the crazy nut ran after him as he was leaving the club .... please please can I take a photo of you for my mom ???
Well needless to say I do have that photo . it was not so much that she asked him it was the way Jeanmarie is and how she got that photo .
I am sure that if she had to knock down his bodygaurds she would have gotten the photo still.
but then again .how could that man refuse such a beautiful and dedicated girl ? oh, I did forget to mention that my daughter is only 5 ft 2 in and when you see the photo of them
together she looks even smaller .On the day of Sept 11th 2001 I did speak to her and the one thing I hold on to is that we said I love you to each other,not even knowing what was happening. she told me everything was ok ,it was not her building ,Jaime always called in the morning sometimes before she went to work and sometimes from work on her cell .this morning was different though it was a strange morning when I think of it I never felt like lying down in the morning but I felt so strange and I did and just about a few minutes later ,she called to reaasurre me everything was ok .
But as we all know it was not and this will be a day that my heart was killed along with all those on Sept.11th 2001. Each and everyday I think of that day over and over and how could I not? this is my baby girl .
This was a girl who knew who she was ,a girl who if given the chance to live would and could have made a difference in the world , but for me and those who love her .... She did make a big difference!
You see these are just a fraction of things about Jeanmarie and I do hope to place more about her here But one thing everyone will learn is about the love she gave unconditionally .
