There is something immediately striking and arresting about Painted Cloud, who is such a colorful, splashy stallion. He exudes confidence and is a natural ham, always seeking the attention of those around him, whether they are equine or human. He loves receiving some love and strokes from those around him, and he's always quick to nudge his nose in for a bit of a scratch. However, don’t mistake Cloudy’s attention-seeking tactics to a need to be validated, or a sense of insecurity—quite the opposite in fact. Although he is a young stallion, he is bold and self-assured, and with these two attributes there is no doubt that he is set to go far in the show ring. He has taken extremely well to his training thus far, and whenever he is being worked, anyone who is happening across the farm stops to watch this beautiful young stallion in motion. He arrests all those about him, and this trait is sure to ensnare any judge’s discerning eye. Between his talent and incredible coloring, Cloudy always keeps all eyes on him.
For the time being, and the upcoming show season, Painted Cloud will be shown by Karnak’s young rider, Elaina, a talented young horsewoman in the making, so that both Elaina and Cloudy can gain more experience. I’m certain doors will open for this pair as they grace the ring with their talent and skill, and no doubt these two competitors will never return to the farm empty-handed—instead, bringing home buckets of ribbons.
Painted Cloud is a merging of two great equine breeds—the Arabian and the Paint Horse. While obviously a flashy stallion, with his loud, exuberant coloring (something he got from his sire, the successful Cow Horse, Painted Brim), Painted Cloud also exhibits the finer Arabian physique—the softer Arabian head and natural elegance—thanks to his dam, Poetry In Motion, who is also a talented Cow Horse. With such promising bloodlines, and such beauty bequeathed to him, Cloudy is set to become a triumphant Cow Horse competitor, and in no time accolades will be illustrating his victories and successes. This young stallion’s future is as bright and colorful as his tobiano coat, and a stellar future, paving the road to greatness, is in the cards for Painted Cloud.
