KARNAK'S CUERVO GOLD 2001 Buckskin Half-Arabian Stallion Mature to 15.1hh - Currently Competing in Halter and Western Pleasure Karnak's Jose Cuervo x Safiya Karnak’s Cuervo Gold is a stallion who enjoys an easygoing pace to life—and who makes no bones about being exactly who he wants to be. His sire, Karnak’s Jose Cuervo, is one of the foundation sires of Karnak, and his legacy will be continued by Gold when the time comes for Jose Cuervo to retire. Gold received his beautiful buckskin coloring from his sire, and from his dam, Safiya, he was given the refined Arabian head with its dark, expressive eyes, along with a tinge of the desert elegance of the Arabian. Gold has fantastic bloodlines, especially from his dam, where, besides Fame VF, Bey Shah & Barbary, he has double lines to Bay El Bey, one of the reigning contributors to the breeding of domestic Arabian breeding, and one of the foundations sires of the venerable Varian Arabian breeding program. All of these factors will only help to make Gold a magnificent sire, something he absolutely seems destined for. A laidback stallion, he is perfectly content to watch all the activity in the barn without necessarily joining it, and his sweet tempered disposition makes him a great horse to work with, making him malleable in the training ring (if not a tiny bit lazy at times). Gold is currently showing in Western Pleasure, a discipline that suits his relaxed nature very well, rather than Western Speed, which is his sire’s discipline of choice. He is a stallion that approaches life almost philosophically, watching it with those big, black eyes of his, and taking everything at its face value. He is never ill-tempered, and never causes problems in the barn, despite his being a stallion. This endearing trait will make him a great stud in the future, and Karnak highly anticipates breeding him when the time comes, and enjoying his beautiful little foals, perhaps some of them a lovely tawny color like Gold. Time will undoubtedly reveal this stallion to be a magnificent success, both in the ring and in the breeding barn, and with his dark buckskin coloring, laidback manner and natural grace, he is sure to excel beautifully in Western Pleasure. The Quarab cross is renowned for creating great athletes with slightly more elegance and beauty (thanks to the Arabian blood), and Gold is no exception. He is a fine example of prescient and decidedly planned breeding, and he is a stallion simply ready to take off, and illustrate the true victory of his beauty, talent and breeding.
