The Gite is completely self contained with private entrance, drive and parking. There is a patio area with garden furniture, parasol and BBQ. There is a secure childs play area with swings and slide. You will find badminton, Boules and coolbox in the Gite if you fancy a picnic.
We are only 3km from Barenton. Here you will find a Boulangerie, Bars, Restaurant, Bank and supermarket, which unusually for France, is open on a Sunday morning, along with a small weekly market. Close by is the renown Fosse Arthour with lake, woodland walks, rock climbing and riverside Restaurant. Ten minutes to the east is the medieval town of Domfront or ten minutes to the west is Mortain with lovely White Abbaye, Petite and Grande Cascades and Petite Chapple with wonderful views across to Mont St Michel.
This area is famous for its cider and Calvados. La Maison de la Pomme can be found in Barenton where you can try a sample. The apple and pear orchards are a delight to see in the spring with colourful blossom.
For the nature lover this area is rich in flora and fauna. In summer you might catch sight of glow worms, Hummingbird Moths and Swallow butterfly. Birds of prey hover above, herons, woodpeckers, swallow and swifts find local conditions favourable and can be spotted regularly.
