Basis and Background of LAC

Basis and Background

The Liberation Alliance for change (LAC) is a phenomenon of the twentieth century. It is the organizational form taken by the African Youth Cooperative effort. Liberation Alliance for change (LAC) generally means the expression of the political, cultural, social, and economic solidarity of the global youths; in other words, it includes the Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Itsekiri, Ijaw, Urhobor, Isoko e.t.c and all other Languages in the world both French-speaking republics of the continent.

African Youths are faced with lot of Stress, which has made them aimless in life. The rate African Youths are involved in crime such as political thugs, armed robbery, drug abuse, child abuse and human trafficking is at the extreme. African Youths are denied their social and economic rights. These rights include the right to be involved in economic activities, maximum welfare and happiness, suitable and adequate shelter, employment, adequate medical and health facilities, social security, qualitative and affordable education at all level. However, the provisions are not justifiable, this means one cannot go to court to claim damages for breach of the provisions. The social and economic right does not meet the aspiration of the African Youth.

The International Youth Organization system hence represents the political system in which the Pan- Youth movement is institutionalized as the LAC. This found expression in the good Neighbor policy, but they also laid the groundwork for the reorganization and modernization of the Pan- Youth System, carried out through the establishment of the present LAC.

The LAC has been established through the vision of a group of young people who are members of some international youth organizations like international youth Advisory council (IYAC) an Ngo Accredited to the United Nations, WSSD Youth Caucus United Nations CSD/WSSD, World Summit on Sustainable Development, International Young Professional Foundation (IYPF).

We, as young leaders, believe that we will make a unique and important contribution to make the world a better place to live, work and play for all peoples. In particular, we believe strongly that young people, making up a quarter of the world’s working population,

·        Are  untapped resources that can be more effectively engaged to effect positive global change

·

1

Have a creativity to generate ideas, and the means to implement them

·        Are some of the experts in global issues such as the digital device and technology transfer.

·        Are catalysts for sustainability on global scale

The typical young person is in the early stage of their career, with, to seeking, employment of some description. They possess a repertoire of general and niche skills and knowledge.

However, on leaving school or university, many young people loose access to many volunteer groups and community activities. Young conferences are usually full of students. We believe that giving Young people accesses to a means to make a difference to the world, while furthering their own development, will activate a strong and widely under-utilized resource for sustainable development and other issues confronting us all.

This is where the LAC comes in.

We are working with a worldwide network of young people who are catalyzing positive changes in their own lives, in their communities, their organizations, and ultimately the world.

We aim to provide the means to enable this- through events, project, support, professional development, information and knowledge and linking all to each other.

Our aims are lofty, our, objectives ambitious. We want nothing less than to change the world for the better of ALL people.
