FOR SOMEONE WHO KNOWS

I think of you and my mind wanders,
it travels across the miles and the distance.
Time stands still for one brief moment,
I feel the wind and I imagine your touch.
I think about the warm summer rain and I smile.
How I wish that we could see each other,
if only for a milli-second in time.
To take a walk in the clouds,
high above the mountains and trees.
To look down upon the earth in all its beauty and wonder.
The splendor consumes me,
thoughts of its vastness overwhelms me.
Our times apart seem neverending,
Times together pass by like a flash of lightning.
Suddenly you are gone,
and a flood of emotions rushes in;
Like a wave from the angry sea.
I am left alone; yet, not alone.
Memories of you come rushing to me,
enough to last till the end of time......
Eternity stands still.
