The Madison Arts Barn at the Town Campus in Madison was created by the Friends of Madison Youth, a non-profit organization. Our mission is to establish a safe, drug-free, supervised environment where local teens can enjoy positive recreational activities while avoiding risk-taking behavior common to adolescents. Since May 2000, over 18,000 teens have utilized the Arts Barn and its programs, yet its popularity continues to grow!
As the Arts Barn is run by a non-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of the community and grant opportunities to cover our operating budget of $140,000. The Town of Madison has generously contributed $20,000 toward the construction of our new skate park, however beyond this donation and the use of our building, the town does not contribute any additional funding. Therefore, we turn toward the local community and concerned parents to help us forge ahead with our mission: To serve the local youth!
