Submission Guidelines:

General Guidelines:

All submissions must be original works, in English. Plagiarism, which includes the use of third-party poetry, song lyrics, without written permission will be rejected. Excessive violence or sex, determined by the judges, will result in disqualification. We do not accept Erotica or Pornography of any kind.

Guidelines for sections:

Book, movie, music reviews must be between 100 to 500 words. Book reviews should outline where the story starts, but not summarize the entire plot; it may also consider aspects of the work such as genre, style, audience, characterization and themes.

Short stories up to 8,000 words are accepted, the writer will need to provide a short bio, and his blog url.

Articles are any piece of work longer than 750, but no longer than 3000 words.

Photography and designs are accepted after reviewing, we by no means will publish offensive material, so stay clean.

Submission format:
To submit to the Middle East Chronicle, take the following steps:
1. E-mail the submission to middleeast.chronicle@gmail.com. The subject of the email must consist only of the words 'Chronicle Submission'. You should send your story as an attachment - in TEXT or Microsoft Word format - or, if your email system does not allow attachments, copy and paste it into the e-mail body. Remember to include the article’s title, your name, desired section, and contact e-mail (if different) in the submission.
Note:
- Attachments should only be in Microsoft Word, Rich Text or Text format. Do not send ZIPed files.
- Do not send any other attachments - such as photographs or other images - with the story.
2. Please include a brief biography in the body of the e-mail, one to be published with your article.
3. You should receive an e-mail confirming receipt of the submission. If you do not receive this email within a week, you should assume the story has not reached us.
