When I started updating this site again, I didn't expect much. My index page got 10 - 20 hits a day, the mild visitors amused me enough to start editting the site. Then i found a few nifty tools, that would tell me my traffic from my entire site. I didn't think much of it, I continued to edit the site, and went to sleep. I woke up the next morning to something amazing.

Hooray! I broke the statistics calculator!

The fact that I still had viewers was absolutely astonishing. The site apparently averages about 10,000 hits a month, and i have anywhere from first-time to avid returning visitors, which i would like to take this opportunity to thank. I immediately started updating the site more, cleaning up content, updating all the pages, making everything more accessible. I've also looked into finding more about my visitors, since I, currently am from the States, but MidloRollin gets visitors from all around the world.

I would really like to be able to talk with some of my viewers (from the stats i can see i have some very local visitors in Australia, Canada, and New York, USA). I will see MidloRollin exploding without me touching it whatsoever, but my viewers deserve better. My viewers deserve the most up time, the most things to do, I owe you all that much. I am currently looking into purchasing a paid-for hosting, so i can provide my viewers with the most content possible. Though i quickly realized this would come at a cost i had not paid attention to for quite some time.

Upgrades? But Why?

Bandwidth. I used to have a set of viewers that would flood my site with views 4 days a week, the other 3, it was a ghost town. My bandwidth never broke 300 MB. Here at freewebs.com, the basic bandwidth limit is 500MB, which i am quickly approaching, and provided traffic continues on its trend, the end of month bandwidth will be somewhere around 670 MB, and the site will do ... something? i'm not quite sure what precautions they take. Though i find myself at the end of a rope. The site needs more, so I must facilitate.

Currently, i would like to go with freewebs premium services, that would allow me to have a domain, and practically unlimited web space, and quite a hefty limit for bandwidth. However, when compared to HostMonster.com, there is no competition, i pay less, and get more for my money. The main problem with this, one i have to copy over my site to a HostMonster server, and secondly, that ill need to push the new location for games as far, if not harder than i pushed it on this site. If the support ever gets back to me (really lame response time here) they will easily make my decision for me, by letting me know the full extent of their services. If they are below - par, i jump ship, and go with HostMonster, who offers unlimited EVERYTHING for 5.95/mo, which as a college student, I am really quite a fan of.

But betray my site of origin? It will be a long and hard task if i do so, but will lead to a much more promising future. Until then (aka before the 12th of December) I will be contemplating my decision.

Squatters Aren't Welcome Round' These Parts...

SQUATTERS! Yes there is a individual Squatting on MidloRollin.com! This domain used to be owned by me, and soon as it expired it was purchased and has been squatting on it for nearly a year. Just in case my viewers arent aware of what squatting, or rather CyberSquatting is, its purchasing a domain, and doing nothing with except for the intent to sell it at an inflated price, which personally I don't appreciate.

I've tried contacting the owner, but there has been no response. I really would not enjoy settling for midlorollin.net, but i may have to. But alas, I will not go quietly into the night. I will also purchase midlorollin.co.uk, with my good friends at GoDaddy.com, and then transfer it to HostMonster. Then I will back order midlorollin.com it an attempt to regain my former glory. Until then, I hope the current owner, which disregards the true meaning of midlorollin.com will not renew, and this can be settled peacefully.
