The Mythology

 

The mythology of Tangier is a rich and pleasant chapter of its "history .
This particular point of the Mediterranean , in the door of the unknown
ocean, fed the imagination of all the peoples of the nostrum puddle. Today,
the tourist guides take pleasure in the often rough story of this stories .
In the knowledge of the author, the legends telling the birth of the town
or the facts having had the region as the theater of action ,have two sources:
the Berber source based essentially on the linguistics and the much more
supplied Greek source . The oral tangirin tradition relates the
following history : after the torrent, the Noah's Ark derived awaiting for
finding the continent. One day, a dove meant settling on the bridge of the
arc with a little clay on its legs.The occupants of the arc then exclaimed:
" Tin jâa " is the eartharrived . Naturally, it is little likely that the
language used by Noé was Arabic... Tanja, in Berber language, indicates a
swamp, what would tend to prove the existence of a human amazigh setting-up
well before the arrival of phéniciens .
