The Association of Natural Medicine, (A.N.M), was the brainchild of Nelson J. Brunton who, with the help of Martin Duncombe practising in Chelmsford, instigated the registering of the Association.
Nelson realised that natural medicine, which was regarded with scepticism and prejudice due to insufficient awareness by the general public, should be brought to the forefront. Martin Duncombe and several of his colleagues shared Nelson’s views and together they went ahead to form the Association of Natural Medicine. Many of the members from the pioneering days are still active within the A.N.M.
The Association of Natural Medicine was first established as a company limited by guarantee, but not long after, became a registered charity.
