When you affiliate with a site, you agree to put their button somewhere in the layout. They also put your button in their site. Is it important? Yes, for sure. Affiliating is a major way of getting hits! Setting It Up First, you need a page. I prefer calling it affiliate.htm (or .ssi or .php, depending on what you use). Next, you should apply the rules. Affiliating can have "Top affiliate" which means the best sites. Next "Normal Affiliates" as in good sites depending on your rules. Last can be "Junior Affiliates" which means they apply to your junior affiliates rules. The rules should not be hard. Top affiliates in site rules mostly need 35 to 40 pages. Sometimes though, sites have top affiliates as not mattered on how many pages they have, but on the content quality. Is it helpful? You might want to add rules such as they must update once or twice a week. Not updated sites are considered dead sites. An important rule in affiliating is that is should not have bad words or pictures in it and is rated under PG 13. Remember that young children do surf the pokemon and anime websites and might go to your website by a chance, so one of your rules might be keeping it under PG 13. Then, one of the rules might be a theme rule. Like, for example, a rule can be that your site must be anime related. Maybe pokemon related. Maybe have at least a page about anime or manga. It's your choice!
