          Delton Art Show Successful

This year's annual Delton Kellogg art show held in the Delton Library was a huge success. More than 600 people came the opening night and things didn't slow down the following days. Art shown was from Elementary to High school students, a display that would make any art teacher proud. This was a great way to end this year for Mrs. Drenth, the elementary art teacher retiring after serving 19 years at DK. The one piece shown by me was The Ideal, which recieved much praise from people around the area.

          Tainted Lullaby

An important part of my art work now has something to do with my songs. This piece in particular, is appropriatly titled Tainted Lullaby after the song. The idea of something gone terribly wrong is shared between the lyrics and the darkness of the piece shown.

          Before

With this collage I wanted to include the theme that I had been working with all year; corsetts. The 80 you see is actually the year 1800, and I wanted you to feel as though at that time women were present for looks and to prepare goods such as food and clothing for her family. However, the simplicity of this collage didn't do me that justice.

          After

What a wonder Photoshop can do to a simple collage. This is the after affect of the once boring 4 piece collage I put together on a piece of paper. After scanning the original image in, a few filters and added layers made their magic. Thus, the final image becomes more interesting and dramatic.

          From Photo to Photoshop

This was a black and white picture I took of the Briggs-Gilmore Company in downtown Kalamzoo. I brought this picture in to school, scanned it in, and decided to play around with some color schemes. This is what I came up with. The actual color of the building is a dark brownish-red, so I wanted to use that color, as well as lighter colors showing where the light source on the building.
