SAMD members at the 2011 Williamston Holiday Lights Parade Sunday, February 5, 2012: SAMD Sledding Outing at John & JoAnne Studebaker's in Richland, MI; Noon to 5pm (eat at 2 pm).Location: 8612 North 35th St, Richland MI. Bring a dish to pass, your dog(s) & dress warmly! Bring sledding harnesses/sleds if you have them. Directions: Take M-89 North thru Richland to CD Avenue. Go east (right) on CD Avenue until it ends. John and JoAnne's house is at the intersection of CD Avenue and 35th Street. Park in the back, on the dirt drive between the Christmas tree farm and the house. Ph. SAMD pack hike.
Our objectives are to encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Samoyeds; to urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club; to advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, obedience trials and sledding races, and other activities such as herding, tracking, agility, flyball, back-packing, and therapy work; to encourage and cooperate with individuals and other groups with similar purposes; to do all possible to help place Samoyeds in need of new homes; and to educate new and potential Samoyed owners as to the proper care and upkeep of their dogs. Older dogs: Owner: address, phone number, breeder, age, neutered or not, whether housebroken, trained, etc. -- $3 per issue per dog.
