Amtrak and Freight Photographs

Greetings!

Welcome to Railroading on the Stockton Sub.  On this site, you will find photographs of the various types of railroading on BNSF's Stockton and Bakersfield Subdivisions: mostly single-track mainline stretching from Bakersfield, California to Richmond, California.  Periodically, I'll have time to go railfanning elsewhere, so keep an eye out.  I'll update this site whenever I have new pictures to display.

Most photos you see here are of Amtrak California's San Joaquin.  These short passenger trains operate between Bakersfield and Oakland, and Bakersfield and Sacramento, and I have been riding them since childhood.

Some pages may take a while to load since they have lots of images.  And please do leave your comments over at the guestbook.

Enjoy!

News:

6/19/05: Due to space constrictions, I will be putting together a new site for rail videos filmed by me.  As soon as possible, I will have the site up and running and you may download video clips at your leisure.  Thanks for your patience.

6/15/05: Major news!  On Sunday a Konica Minolta Z3 digital camera was purchased.  It has several photo modes, 10x optical zoom, 5 megapixels, and a video mode.  As soon as I get time to go trackside, I will get some movies up on the site for your enjoyment, as well as still photographs.  The movies will be in Quicktime format.  Download the Quicktime player here.

Like running modern Amtrak trains?  Then check out Pacific Surfliner V1.0 for Microsoft Train Simulator at www.facingpoint.com.  The route is great, and the trains it comes with are spectacular.  If you buy the route, be sure to download the Pacific Surfliner Operating Timetable I created in the 'Other' section.
