Melanie Stryder HAIR Very dark in color, almost black. She likes to wear it long. EYES A dirty hazel. APPEARANCE She has an athletic build and prefers to stay fit and strong. She's muscular and has skin that stays tanned no matter what the weather. PERSONALITY Melanie has a strong personality and powerful beliefs. She tends to be defiant and quick to anger, and also likes to act on her anger violently. She is also fairly sarcastic. She is very vocal, especially when expressing her beliefs to Wanderer. HISTORY After the invasion began, Melanie began hiding with her younger brother, Jamie. It was after a couple of years that, while sneaking into a house to steal food, she met Jared Howe. Each thought the other was a parasite, and when Jared found out that Mel wasn't, he kissed her. After a scuffle, Mel agreed to trust him, and Melanie, Jamie, and Jared began traveling together. Later, Melanie caught a glimpse of her cousin Sharon on the news, looking very suspiciously still human, and thought that Sharon must still be human and safe, and that she had to go find her cousin. She set off, leaving Jamie with Jared. But while on the search for Sharon, she got pinned by some parasites, or souls, in human bodies. She wrote a quick note to Jamie and Jared and then ran, hurling herself down an elevator shaft in a suicide attempt. The attempt was unsuccessful, and there the story begins, as the souls catch up to her, heal her, and place Wanderer in her body. ACTRESSES These actresses were chosen purely out of my own vice and have nothing officially to do with Stephenie Meyer or The Host in any way shape, or form.
