Name The name of the site, "Stolen Moments", originated at around 12:30 last night (or this morning?) Saturday-Sun May 24-25. My best friend - we'll call her Bella for the sake of her identity - asked me to make a header for her The Host fansite, Wandering Soul (as advertised around the site). I was glad to, I love making images! So I went to work, thinking, "Wandering Soul is a pretty cool name" and nifty thoughts like that. As you'll see if you head over to Wandering Soul, the header involves an image of Mary Elizabeth Winstead looking out a window. It made me think of Melanie Stryder stealing a moment inside a house, always fearing, always moving. That thought led to another. These things just happen - it's like a chain. (Kind of like Bill Engvall...if you don't understand that reference, don't try.) This new thought was, "It's like the whole book is about stealing moments. Mel steals moments in houses. Then Wanda steals Mel's body, and experiences some of the past moments in Mel's life. Then there's - SPOILERS AHEAD, STOP! - Wanda stealing moments with Jared. Ian stealing moments with Wanda. Mel stealing moments with Jared." You see where I'm going with this? So, after that, I thought, "This would be a really good name." And I couldn't let something that spiffy go to waste, so here it is - Stolen Moments, or Stomo, the website! |
