:Back to Journal:
While I have many amazing friends and aquaintences, there are a few people whom I have chosen to profile, as I see them on a frequent basis, and they are the ones most likely to pop-up in my journal entries. Here's a few of my most colourful friends, so you get an idea of whom I am writing about!
Josh
Josh is my rather boysterous best male friend from high school. Standing at 6'4 [I believe?] he is one huge manly man of a rugby player, with a heart of gold. Very loud, speaks his mind, would die for his friends.
Vanessa
Initially dubbed "my best friend from college", Vanessa and I have only known each other a few months, but shared an immediate connection from the day we met. She introduced me to college life (aka napping between classes and staying up too late!) and is an absolute JOY to listen to- energetic and bouncy, she tells of her fascinating adventures by creating new catchphrases like "loves it!", and "yeah, bud!" Absolutely entertaining; you would be a fool not to fall in love with her instantly.
Melissa
Melissa and I don't hang out often because she lives in another city, but we are constantly texting/IM'ing. We lead the same lives, and can share our darkest secrets because chances are, the other one of us has gone through it too. She's my rock, she's bold, daring, and in control. When you meet her, you think she's the coolest person you've ever met.
The Lunchtime Crew: Amber
A member of the Lunchtime Crew, she introduced me to the Lunchtime Crew, a group of people I hang out with between classes. Three years younger than me, her age definately does not show as she is a mature, responsible girl wise beyond her years. Spunky, generous, and spontaneous, Amber is the friendliest person I know, coming up to me on my first day of school and immediately befriending me. She always has something to say that makes you feel great about yourself, she makes sure to include everyone, with a great joke or story to share.
The Lunchtime Crew: Will
Known for his impressive collection of mp3's and laptop RAM, Will is one of my favourite people to talk to, as he is extremely intelligent and open-minded. Will's handsome but quiet, and does not speak much, choosing instead to quietly observe. He's a mystery, but a great friend.
The Lunchtime Crew: Hilary
An excited ball of energy, Hilary is Amber's best friend, and a talented, talkative triple threat who sings, dances, and models. With a kind heart and a playful innocence, she knows what she wants, she sticks to her values, and she is a lot of fun!
The Lunchtime Crew: Kyler
One of the funniest and laid-back people I have ever met, Kyler keeps me in stitches with random one-liners at just the right moments. Kyler plays hockey for the school's team, and is quite popular with the ladies, though he confesses to treating his own girlfriends like gold. While I don't know him that well yet, he seems like a good friend to have around, especially when you're bored or having a party, he'd definately liven it up.
The Lunchtime Crew: Kyle
While he is a big football player, Kyle comes off as quite shy at times. He's cute, kind, and obsessed with his sport. When we first met, we almost went on a date, but it didn't work out, so we cooled off to just hanging out between classes. He's just as interested in conditioning and athletics as I am, so we have lots to chat about when we see each other.
Drew
Intelligent and oddly sarcastic, Drew is the person I can complain about life to. We are constantly text-messaging each other throughout the day to complain about the people and events that annoyed us. I consider him one of my closest friends and confidants.
Jess
Jess is more than a friend to me, she has reached the level of "adopted sister". Jess and I have always shared an unspoken bond, and can relate to each other through various life experiences, similar family lives, etc. Friends since high school, we've remained close, and enjoy exploring the paranormal and supernatural phenomena together. Family-oriented and laid back, Jess is a natural-born comic, and will entertain you for hours with extroverted songs and dances.
Alaina
My best friend from high school, we have grown apart over the years, so you won't see as much of her in my journal as the other people so far, but she is still worth listing! Alaina has a commanding presence, and isn't afraid to speak her mind. She works as a chef, and will ultimately end up as an apprentice overseas. She's a dreamer and a princess, and isn't afraid to be herself, and can drink any man under the table!
John
You won't ever see John in my journal, because I have not seen him in person for over two years, but you will likely hear his name a lot. John was my boyfriend a long time ago, and we were going to get married, but it didn't work out. You will hear his name often because our families are co-workers AND get together outside of work, on holidays, etc, so we all keep in touch. His family adopted me years before I even dated John, and still call me their own, so if I mention "Aunt Jayne", or "Gram", they are actually my ex-boyfriend's family members.
My Mom
Last but definately not least, is my Mum. She is truly my best friend, and knows more about my life than my friends do. We have a truly unique Gilmore-Girls-type relationship, and it definately does not feel like mother-daughter, but like friendship. She is the first person I go to for advice, and the only person I will let see me cry. Everyone who meets her loves her, as she is a charasmatic, talented, and spiritually gifted woman. She raised me alone, and while she sacrificed a lot so that I could have anything I wanted, she has also taught me the value of hard work, morals and independence. She is solely responsible for keeping me sane.
