Okay, well it seems clear that a lot of people are seeking the same cards that are in short supply. This of course was brought on by card Trooper, so I decided to make a sort of a guideline to determine who gets dibs on certain rare cards. First off, before we all go running our mouths of about card trooper otk, or whatever you want, you must now provide a captain with some proof that you tested the deck thoroughly, and that it works well enough. Proof can be anything from notes to articles to decklists to videos even, just some sort of connotation showing that you aren't just after an expensive card to try it. Second, I think we should all only have 1 or 2 decks that we use primarily, which shouldn't change unless new cards/rulings come out. This way, if one person has a card trooper, they can lend/trade it to the person who is making a card trooper deck, likewise with things like solemn judgment, widespread ruin, or other rare cards. Not only will this broaden our horizon, opening new doors to the competitive community, but it will also create a fair system to divide up rare cards. I'm not saying that more than one person can't have the same deck, but it gets confusing if someone switches every week. People's deck dibs are as follows so far:
Flex: Deck 1 - Monarchs
Cap'n: Deck 1 - Monarchs, Deck 2 - Burn, Deck 3 - Demise OTK
Funch nugget: Deck 1 - Machines
Cyber Funch: Deck 1 - Monarchs
Random Funch: Deck 1 - Monarchs
Sign the guestbook with the decks you want to use as your primary decks.

Hey its Captain Funch and as you know Flex and myself went to regionals in Brooklyn on Feb. 4th and it so happens that i went 6-2 and made Top 8. Along the way in round 7 when i was 5-1 I was matched up against Robert Ackerman a 2-time Shonen Jump Campionship Top 8er and a regular regional winner and i beat him 2-0. But after i made Top 8 I was awarded my play mat, a t-shirt, and about 15 packs. Then when the Top 8 started I was paired up against Tony Mera a Top 8er at SJC Philadelphia, and had my toughest loss ever because i didn't really lose. So heres what happened he won game 1 then i won games 2 and 3, then Tony says to me as I am cleaning up my cards "Game 3" and i look at him and tell him that we just played it and he lost but he didn't take that for an answer. He said to the judge that was supposed to be watching our match "so is it game 3 or is that it" and he said that he wasn't sure. So we call over the head judge and he asked us if we had any of the 3 games written down on paper and we said "no just calculators". So the judge said "play another deciding game" and I lost. But I will have another shot at my nationals invite in April. But I did learn a very important lesson and that is to record LPs on paper. So heres my decklist of the deck I used to make the Top 8 out of 130 of the regions best duelists:
Deck: 40
Monsters: 22
3 Mobius
3 Thestalos
3 Cyber Dragon
3 Legendary Jujitsu Master
2 Exiled Force
1 Magician Of Faith
1 Twin-Headed Behemoth
1 Breaker
1 Injection Fairy Lily
1 Treeborn Frog
1 Zaborg
1 Sangan
1 Spirit Reaper
Spells: 12
2 Soul Exchange
2 Brain Control
1 Scapegoat
1 Swords Of Revealing Light
1 Graceful Charity
1 Last Will
1 Nobleman Of Crossout
1 Heavy Storm
1 Pot of Avarice
1 Book Of Moon
Traps: 6
3 Drop Off
1 Mirror Force
1 Ring Of Destruction
1 Torriential Tribute
Side: 15
2 Des Wombat
2 Banisher of The Radiance
1 Hand of Nephthys
1 Sacred Phoenix Of Nepthys
1 Apprentice Magician
1 Jinzo
1 Old Vindictive Magician
1 System Down
1 Confiscation
2 Royal Decree
2 Solemn Judgement
From Flex: Well, seeing as how I was mentioned about once in that entire paragraph, here's my basic story. Round one, I lost to a really good kid, monarchs with hydros, but he was really nice and checked up on me every subsequent round, making sure I was winning so I could put those good tiebreakers to use. Well, I was a bit discouraged, but I kept going. Round two I faced the little "yay for the starter deck" kid, and performed a sound whipping, and then round three, I faced a sick monarch deck used by a kid who had a regionals mat of his own. It was close, but I squeaked out some late game advantage and beat him. Now I was 2-1, and I figured I was in a good spot. They posted up the next round, and as I was going up to look, I thought to myself, "what if I face someone like Ackerman, lol". Well, guess what. I faced fuckin' Ackerman. He was pretty polite, but seemed tense and very into the game. Well, after some fast plays and sweet moves, we were both 1-1 in the third game, and I had just drawn into a lucky snipe facing down his mobius and face down. I killed the mobius with my large hand, but opted to leave the face down. I swung for a lot, (I already had a stoplight set up), and was feeling pretty sure I would win. And then it happened. The dumbass move of my career. MP2, after already summoning Snipe earlier in that incredibly long turn (he stalled), I summoned a yellow gadget, began to search for the green, and he called me on it. He got a judge, and by now, a colosseum of people were around us, mostly heckling Ackerman (hehe, that was the fun part). After three rulings, head judge John Williams gave us a double game loss, so we went into game 4 overtime. I was under a lot of pressure, and misplayed, so he won with his broken hand. I was damned pissed, mostly at myself, but even though my chances were slim to none, I went on. Next two rounds, I played some decent stuff, won though, and I finally came to round seven, where I faced another legend, Bobby Chambers. He won with his Chimeratech otk, and then round 8, I lost to another otk. Overall, it was loss due to stupidity, and the fact that my side wasn't ready for an otk, but I think it was a good regionals. Everyone was really supportive after the ackerman incident, and I learned a lot. So here's some advice for you all.
1. RECORD LP's ON PAPER
One of the most common forms of dispute is a difference in lifepoints. If both players are keeping track, and one has paper, the one with paper will get the benefit of the doubt. Plus it's more foolproof than calculators, and as you read, it would've saved Captain Funch in the qf's.
2. Pay Slow.
Here's a really important one. You may think it looks cool if you play at lightning speed, and if you shuffle yourhand excessively, but it really doesn't help, and you'll do a dick move like I did.
3. Triple check your decklist initially, and check it after every match
I lost 2 cards (maybe 3, not sure), that regional, and it was annoying. fortunately, I had backups, but it was still a pain in the ass to lose a widespread ruin. Also, you could get a game loss, or more, if your deck is different than your list.
4. DO NOT THREATEN/STRIKE JUDGE
Lol. A kid got DQ'd cause of this, it's pretty self explanatory. In the words of John Williams, "I had to drop a nigga!"
5. Always let your opponent do the following before every game:
Cut your Deck
See/count your side and fusion decks
Shake your hand (not a rule, just good etiquite)
...They can call a judge on the first two, so just do it, kay? And make damn sure you have all fifteen side deck cards.
Well, that's your official regionals advice. So there. Hope you enjoyed, and happy dueling!
The word neglect comes to mind right about now... but whatever. Let's get down to business. There is a regional this weekend at Neutral Ground, so if you're going, we'll probably be there. Also, The Nintendo Wii is out! Buy BUY BUY!!!! Ok. The Dinoaur Deck is out, and the Machine one comes next month. Buy 3. The latest set, CDIP, completely blows, so wait for the next one, Strike of Neos, which will be actually good. Finally, the new Yugioh DS game, Spirit Summoner debuts in January. Get it. It has Wifi. Kay, laters!
Team Funch has been formed with some of the best duelists on Long Island and now we can find out who is the best. Starting January 1st 2007 I will create a point system that will track all of the duelists on Team Funch to find out who is the best. It will work as so, any Team Funch member that makes Top 8 at Out Of This World toy store saturday tournaments will receive 1 point, 4th place will receive 2 points, 3rd-4 points, 2nd-8 points, and 1st-16 points. This way we can give credit to those that dont make 1st. These points will only last from 1/1/07-3/1/07, due to format switch we will start over after March 1st and we will have a winner for the 1st format of the year. I hope this will motivate the members of Team Funch to play more competitively. That will be all.
-Captain Funch
Some of you already know this, but Captain Funch is currently representing Team Funch at the Shonen Jump Championship in Boston, Mass! As i'm coming to you now, he's currently 3-2 after 5 round, which isnt bad at all. Only a few rounds to go before they announce the top 8. Oh, the suspension! Anyway, keep rooting for him, he still has a shot at glory!
Ok peeps, we've been neglecting the site for a while, and I'm just letting you know we're still here. The banlist is in effect, and the first Shonen is the 16th and 17th in Boston. This format promises to be a good one, so get your thinkin' cap on for new decks. The tins should be out soon, and I think I mentioned earlier that Strike of Neos has been announced. In addition, there's rumors of a DR3 coming out... who knows? Well, that seems to be all, good luck, and happy dueling!
For those of you who haven't read this yet, there is going to be a big change in the banlist schedule... It's being moved back 1 month, making it effective March and September 1st of each year. This is to coincide with the banlist in Japan, so that we have the same basic metagame as them (seeing as how we're releasing most of their cards anyway.) So bear in mind that this is only a couple of weeks away. While we don't have the official list yet, we'll post it up here as soon as it comes up. Just a few extra tidbits here... POTD has hit the streets... umm.... the full CDR spoiler is up... a new set in Japan has been announced, Strike of Neos... SD10 Rebellion of Machines is coming soon, confirmed to have the gadgets and stronghold.... and finally, at GenCon Indy there we're promotional sheep tokens given out. See if you can find any. And give them all to me. Ok, thats it, have fun dueling, and get ready for september 1st, it's gonna be a whopper!
Good day, Team Funch! Here's the news straight from somewhere. First off, the 2006 tins will come out soon, and guess what one of the promo's is? CYBER DRAGON! Yeah, take a moment to soak that up.............................ok. Next, Power of the Duelist is coming soon, so get ready to hit the prerelease nearest you. As soon as we know the promo, we'll post it here. Also, the new wind-themed structure deck is coming soon, so grab one today if you want to build a wind deck. Alright, that's about all for now, so peace to you all.

Well as many of you know, regionals were yesterday, and lemme tell you, we had a ball. (By the way, thanks to the 5 members who came. All the rest are ingrates!!!) Anyway, Team Funch as a group did terrible, but no matter, it was fun and that's what counts. We do want to see some imrovement, however, so we'll be practicing even more on saturdays. Anyway, we had a lot of fun, and we even got dueling legend Jerry Wang to think about joining the team. (He'll get back to us.... right?) Anyway, there is a bad side; since there were only about 85 people, the T.O. Alex won't be holding any more regionals at the Sheraton, as he lost about 2000 dollars on the whole thing. But he will still be holding tournaments at King's Games, so there's no need to worry about getting enough dueling in. All in all, it was a good experience for everyone, so be sure to come to another one real soon. Happy Dueling, and peace out.

Captain here with all the info you are going to need for the Sheraton Hotel. Well first of all it is Sunday June 25, 2006. The cost is $15 so make sure you bring $15 or more because they will have vending machines. Make sure you bring food if you are not planning on buying any there because this is an all day thing. Also you will need your deck, side deck, fusion deck, your UDE number, and a list of your the cards in your deck, side deck, and fusion deck. I know I may sound like a nagging parent or teacher but get a good night sleep the night before and eat healthy too. Also bring Tylenol because you may get a headache due to the noise and dueling over and over again. For any other information you may want here is the Sheraton Hotel website. http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/search/hotel_detail.html?propertyID=855
Peace Funchos!!!!!

Hollaback, Team Funch! Flex Here, with a few announcements about new cards coming to a store near you! First, the new Starter Decks came out just recently, and the highly sought-after Skelengel is included in every one. Pick one up today! I picked up four, and I'm satisfied with the cards, let me tell you. And speaking of decks, the new Structure Deck 7 (Tentative Title), which is based on rocks and sphinxes, will arrive soon. The new "Guardian Exode" is included, so if you want to try an interesting deck, this is something to look out for. Also, after that, the eighth deck, a wind based deck, will follow, and later in teh year a dinosaur deck will his the scene, no doubt making dinosaurs a slightly less stupid deck to build. As always, check theriversidegym.com for the latest speculations and spoilers. As you already know, Enemy of Justice is coming soon, (and I expect to see you all at the prereleases,) but did you know that Power of the Duelist is on the horizon as well? it brings new D&E heros, as well as an interesting field spell that promises to make the tournament scene with a new deck archetype. Finally, tournament pack 8 is soon to come, and metagame.com is already previewing its new contents. Check it out some time. Anyway, That's all for now, so save up that store credit that's burning a hole in your pocket, and until next time, happy dueling!
As we looked deeper into the few options that freewebs has, we made new advances in our web expertise. We've finally found a way to make Card of the Week Work, so that'll be up and running soon. Also, we're working on making a chatroom for all team funch members to....what's the term I'm looking for....uhh...Chat in, so when we fix the seemingly infinite amount of problems we have, we'll post the chat for all to enjoy. 'Till next time, happy dueling!

P.S. : Don't forget to get to regionals this summer! We'll keep you posted for all the details, and you can ask Captain Funch, (he's the brains in this operation.)
Unfortunately, we are experiencing technical difficulties right now, so for for now we are hereby abolishing the card of the week section. I'm not going to lie to you, its because we have no idea how to organize it the way we want, like in the same format that pojo.com does their card of the day. Yeah, we're jealous of them. So what? Big whoop. Wanna fight about it? Anyway, until we figure out how to organize this piece of crap better, cotw is down. One other minor update; we have a few new members. See the members section for the new people.
Good day to you, fellow Team Funch members! This is your co-captain speaking. I think it's high-time we had an update on this site, so here it is. The first order of business is that Shadow of Infinity should be hitting the streets around now, so gather up your store credit, and get some new cards, especially the highly sought after Treeborn Frog. It'll be a good addition to almost any deck. next up, we're changing our logo design! The reasons are that in addition to our old one being illegal, it was just plain boring, so our new one will be up as soon as we determine the final design. We're also always open to suggestions, so post in the guestbook if you have something slick. Next, we're now a multi-game team, so players of any game can apply for team membership, from Vs. System to MLB Showdown to Inu Yasha. Fourthly, there are going to be a few changes to the rules, so look in that section when you can. Additionally, the new banlist has come out for Japan's Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG, so here's the link. When you see a lot of Japanese writing, don't panic! Just click on the fourth Yellow Line of text, and there will be English translations. This of course brings me to my final item of discussion: our banlist. On April first, it'll be coming out, so there are two things we can do to prepare. First, the Japanese banlist helps. Naturally, it'll be similar to ours, so study it and make plans to adjust your deck accordingly. Also, around the middle of the month, Upper Deck should release our banlist, so we can see it before it goes into effect. This is the time to make any necessary trades and such, so do your best. I suppose that'll be all for now, so good luck and happy dueling!
