This page is going to cover some brief "histoty" of the band.
We formed sometime around March in the spring of 2003. It started when I came up with a song about garbage cans in gym. I wrote a guitar part and set out to find band members. I was already in a band with Hayden (we to this day haven't done anything) so it was easy finding a lead guitarist(at the time, I was only about 2 months into playing the guitar). I got Brady to join, one day hoping to pick up the guitar, though he didn't have anything to do.(He never did pick up the guitar) Matt and I were discussing it and I had him join on the drums. He didn't play the drums, but I figured it couldn't be that hard and that he could use some buckets from my house. Matt and I were talking about it at scouts one day and lamenting how we didn't know anyone who could play bass. Lance commented that he did, and that is how we got Lance. We picked up Quinn on tuba just for the heck of it somewhere around this time. Me and Matt were talking about the band with Hunter one day at The Pizza Place when he asked if he could play guitar in the band. He had taken lessons before and has quite a nice guitar, so I obviously said yes. Somewhere around here Brady decided to do tenor sax in the band. He already played his instrument, which was different than most band members at the time. I think we all forgot Brady was in the band, but he left/forgot about it here. Matt and Lance came over for practice one day early in the summer and we recorded Fmashtog, our second song we had written. We had a problem with a lack of mic stand, so Matt only used one drum stick (a wooden dowel) and held the mic in his other hand. That was the most people at practice that we had for a long time. That was the only practice Matt ever came to, but Lance and I continued to practice over the summer, coming up with The Neverending Laxatives and the original version of Vladimir the Indestructible Twinkie man(Then an improvisation one). When James and I went to go see Pirates of the Caribbean and I found out he played the alto sax, so I asked him to do it, and he did. James didn't come to any summer practices. When school started again, I met Butch. I don't remember how, but he got in the band as second guitar somehow. We were talking about it with Dane, when he said he should play 2nd bass. He moved to lead bass after his first practice, but he joined within a week of Butch. We tried out for the school talent show(without James, he hadn't come to practice yet and didn't go to out school) and didn't make it. In preperation, Butch asked Jordan, who didn't own a kit but sort of played the drums, to play with us, which he did. He used Butch's drums during practice and Lance's at the tryout(interestingly enough, they both had kits but did't really play). I organized us playing a show at Kilby Court on December 19th about a month before it was going to take place, and we began to cram practices in everywhere. Dane's bass was taken back by the person who sold it to him right after I did it, so he had to leave for lack of an instrument. After I had to cancel it because my parents wouldn't let me do it Jordan left. He never had a drumset and couldn't afford one, so he figured it was better that way. In the following months we had Ryne and Nate try to fill in, unsuccesfully. Nate did create quite a to do with my keyboard though. For a while when HBT was gone and the Diggets were idle, Grant was our drummer. We never did anything, but it was a signifigant improvement nonetheless. While we weren't doing so well at my school, Brady was putting together a band at his. He bought an old drumset and started trying to learn. He had a few people, mostly horns, in it. They never met once in their whole existence. One day I was talking to him, and he decided that each of our bands had what theirs lacked, so we combined. Brady dropped drums and picked up tenor sax again, and got a nice Cannonball. We got Jake, Joey, and some other people from the other band, but they didn't make the transition or something and I never met them. Grant decided that he couldn't do drums for us a few days after that, and it just happened that Perry had asked Brady that day if they had a drummer. The next day we recruited him to our ranks. I found out of the upcoming school talent show soon after, and we started preparing for it by writing and learning the current version of Vladmir the Indestructible Twinkie Man. I found out 2 days before tryouts that we wouldn't be able to do it because of people going to another school. On a side note, I put together another band from my school for the talent show(we rocked thier pockets inside out). We kind of relaxed for a while then. During this time, Brady talked Jesse into learning baritone sax(he was then an alto), and he joined. Hayden was talking to me about the band, and he offered to do some stuff, so I said yes. We had practice and learned/wrote several new songs here. Makena came up to Brady and asked if he still played sax one day(they were in band together the year before) and told him that they should start a ska band. He joined ours needless to say. We played our first show on May 28th at North Ogden Jr. High for Butch's cousin's eagle project. Only myself, Lance, Butch, Perry and Brady went. A few weeks later, Hayden quit because of lack of interest. James followed in the weeks soon after, though he is still our manager. In the following weeks, Lance found out he was moving and we had to bid him farewell. Ryne replaced him shortly after. Over the summer we learned a lot more covers and started writing many new songs, such as Brown Sugar. Jesse also rejoined the band on Alto Sax. On August 7th we played our 2nd show at Johnny B's in Provo. Only 5 people came, so the show was cancelled. We still played for the people there though, they just didn't pay us. Only myself, Perry, and Ryne went. David and Quinn were there, but they just goofed off the whole time. This was where we started having David play Cow Bell. The guys there thought we were too wierd and we were under rehearsed. Perry hadn't played with us since the last concert though, so it oculd be expected. After that, school started and we were finally able to talk Alan into for sure playing trombone with us. Nate joined after inspiration by the bass player from Super Hero, and Tanner just jammed with us occasionally, so we just made him backup drums and guitar. Butch had to quit the band so he could focus on his studies here too. For a while, we tried to get Zach to do stuff, mostly keyboard, but he wasn't able to, unfortunately.

7/17/05 Ready to Launch!
That's right! We got a show playing some benefit dinner thing for LHS productions alumni on wednsday! We are calling upon the mad bass skills of ------ to aid us in our quest for a most excellent show, and the free food that follows. Dr. Campbell's sound card isn't glorious enough to record us, so expect more delays while he exchanges it for a new one. Also, we have more shows!!!! August 29th, August 8th, and a TBA. Check the Shows section for full info. Behold, my brethren, as the future is shaped by the one known as NiCODYmas. He ascends to his mighty throne of justice on the morrow, and in a fortnight he shall rule all that the sun touches.

7/6/05 Back From a Foreign Land!
That's right, we have emerged from hibernation, ready to spread our wings and shout our joful calls of ululurk! ululurk! to the mountainside. Seriously now though, we kind of went on hiatus for a while there, but we're back, as strong as ever. We're hoping to get some shows lined up in the near future, but knowing our luck. . . . We'll try our best though. We have some new pictures up, from our church talent show back in March. Apparently, someone there had a digital camera unbeknownst to us. Also, for real this time (for real), we're going to record. Me and our producer, the mad scientist Dr. Campbell, are headed over to Guitar Center, Burt Murdock Music, Pro Musician's Outlet, and wherever else our quest for a cheap, effective passive mixer might take us. We are good to go after we get that, and we'll have Dual Voltage lay down the beats in the upcoming weeks. Listen to more Rush. On a side note, Free Lumpy Bag Records has signed a promising young group of talented musicians, The Beat Bruthas. They will be invading a break dance circle near you sometime soon, with their latest single, "Black is a State of Mind". Unfortunately, Our main tuba player is gone all summer at camp LOLl, so Crispix Mixbrad won't be at any of our shows we might have until school starts again. Many people say that heavy metal icons over 90 are "just plain to old" or "Man, he's so old", but Ace Flashback has proved them wrong. When a mighty power arose in the west, the powers of justice called upon all, and old and new alike responded. I give unto you:Ace Flashback! He reunited with us for long enough to smite the Nega-Sargeant Fury back to the stinking crevasse from which he crawled! We were also joined by an up and coming young hero named Wiggidy Wiggidy Wack, and his impressive piano skills. Enough rambling. We will be joined by a new ally, in the near future. Evil will tremble and cower at the sight of his glorious visage, and trumpet. If you bothered to read all that, I say, excellent job. Seriously.

3/27/04 Microtechnology!
So, we've all been busy the past month, doing various things. There is a possibility of 3 new guys in the band: Hayden on guitar, to free the Commander up to play keyboard and such; Adam/Alan on trombone, because Payfone is buying a bass trombone; and many candidates on 1st trumpet, because the witch doctor can't hit high notes. These are all just considerations, and we could go either way on any of them. We recently purchased some nice gear for the band, making for more productive practice and better recording. Woooo! There are several possibilities of shows for us, 4/2, 4/25, and 7/26. We'll keep everything updated here. As to having a real site, any week now we'll have it. It being a domain, with all your favorite lame html coding. With any luck, Dr. Jensen will build us a nice javascript site soon, so everyone cross your fingers!

3/3/04 Say Happy Birthday to Spaceship!
That's right everyone, today is Spaceship's 16th birthday. So, if you happen to see him between now and then, give him a high five or something. We went on the Ska Show on Tuesday, and got a live recording. For any interested, click here. It's not very good quality, and I totally screwed the vocals over, but it is here for those who want to listen. Before that happened, we played at Sargeant Fury's Church. We won the "Best Effort"(wtf?) for carrying all our stuff all around. Free doughnuts ensued. Anyways, we are looking at a brief remission in shows until we can practice up a bit more on our new songs, which just so happen to be totally sweet. We are still open to offers though, with our old set list.

2/24/05 Frightening Power of Ska-struction!
So we totally rocked the Battle of the Bands yesterday We took a close third, right behing Top of the Playground (another ska band
and Quik Feet. Our official photographer took some pictures, which should be up within a day or two. We're probably going to go
into the ska show next week, (88.1 or weber.edu/kwcr The Edge Tuseday 9-12) so be sure to tune in. On a depressing side note, Adam
quit so he could pursue men.
-Rob
2/21/05 No Goofy Link This TIme!
To the great delight of the masses, the Witch Doctor has some good recording software for us to use! Our old stuff was freeware, and terrible.
This should mean that as soon as we figure out how to use it (who knows. . .) we'll get something recorded for real! I'm serious this time. . .
Sadly, Sean is a butthole, so he won't play keyboard with us. We keep writing newer and better songs, so beware of utter glory.
The upcoming BOTB should be a mondo blast, not to mention being the official debut of the new ska band Top of the Playground! Wooo!
Some of their horn players are so insane I want to punch a goat directly in the kidney. We have another show, on March 1st! It is Sargeant Fury's
church talent show, and it will rock. Anyone will be welcome to come, but we have no adress at this point in time. We will get it , and make it
available to those who seek. Have a good goanghri!
-Rob
1/27/05 Breakin' down the Yukon, one piece at a time!
So... we didn't play on the ska show, again. I'm starting to feel like the little boy who cried wolf, but I hope that'll be over soon.
We're experimenting with having a pro key man come in. His name is Sean, and if all works well, he'll be with us for many years to come.
We're also trying to get some shows lined up with local places and touring acts, talks have been made and such.(Taj Motel Trio anyone?)
For any of those clued into our situation with the BOTB in about a month, the judging is based on 2 songs, an original and a cover from the
60's-80's. We're going to do "Still Rock'n Roll To Me" as our cover, so if any of you are fans of Billy Joel, be sure not to miss it. On a side note
to all of this, we've written a few new songs, Not Much of a Fan and The Final Hour, to name the completely finished ones.

1/11/05 Beetle Train is Comin' to Town!
Yeah, so we had recording trouble. It'll be here eventually. We're making a guest appearance on the Ska Show on the 18th (tuesday). We are going to play at the Layton High Battle of the Bands on February 26th. That's all I know right now about it, but I'll keep the site updated. We'll be getting a domain once the last few people get over our name. Due to the unfortunate demise of Bake Time, a radical friend of mine's band, we now have Adam coming to practice, along with Jeff, who also plays trombone. We're thinking Adam is going to play guitar on some songs, but we'll see how that works out. This would free me up to play keyboard sometimes, it's a good thing. We're thinking of guest starring a friend of ours and doing a little Ill Mitch tribute, for those of you who know who that is.
-Rob
12/29/04 Read Between the Quinns!
d00dz! I got my mixing software figured out! We are in the process of recording a demo thing, if we release it it'll probably be called Read Between the Quinns. Nate got a sweet amp for Christmas, so we no longer have to mooch off our old bass player for a decent amp, for those of you who knew about that. We're exploring the possibility of a domain, I've heard they go as cheap as $5.00 a year on yahoo, which would be easily worth it. Some people still want a name change though, so a domain won't happen for a little while at least. At least one of our songs should be available on the internet in the next week, so check back by next tuesday.
Update: It's now the 1st, and things are going according to schedule. Everything should be done by Tuesday. Tune in to the Ska Show on 88.1 FM, 9-12 on Tuesday to hear it. I'll probably put them up on the website too though, so there will be many opportunities to hear us.

12/14/04 Texas is so Empty. . . .
We be just checking in for a while. Our new brass section is putting a delightful new twist in the musac, and it looks like they might actually stay with us for more than a week, unlike our previous ones. Now that I think about it, I'm too busy/lazy to record anything seriously except for maybe a live cassette tape. Our show is now in January, and rest assured that it will not be moved back anymore. Another thing you can rest easy about is The huge sale over at the Fairfield 10 Year book store. Check it out here for all the best books found in the dumpster.
12/05/2004 Get your kicks on Route 66!
The Aquabats are seriously the best band ever. If they are ever around, go see them. Best show I ever saw. We have a good trumpet player finally. Makena never comes to practice, but there was another guy who can play trumpet who is playing with us now and is the ska boss. Our show go moved back to some time in mid-December. We wrote a few new songs, they are sounding pretty kewl. Even if we keep having member changes so no one knows all of the songs, they are all a lot better. We had to get a new trombone player, again. I got my recording stuff back and we are going to record a song or 2 on soon, fo' real this time! (hopefully) It will probably not have that great of a quality, but it will serve the purpose of letting people hear us. I think now we could record something to sell, if we could get a good way to record. My computer has problems with all the mixing software I've tried, but I'm getting a new one soon, so we will see what happens. We've been messing around with names a bit, and we've found some pretty good ones, like this one for example.

11/8/04 Hey Hey Hey!
We've got a show finally, check the shows section for the info. We've been cutting the crap and betting some serious work done, except for Quinn. We've reworked our 2 best songs to be even more awesome. We've dropped a few of the old ones that weren't as good, but they aren't any signifigant loss. Jesse has no option of not switching to bari. We've come up with one possible name, Beef Per Minute. One of the new songs we've been learning is a funky-jazz thing, and it's looking pretty sweet from here.

10/21/04 Dur......
Uh...we were on the radio, but Grant (AKA Ed McMayhem) never showed up! Oh, and we're working on some new songs and the new name! So the next update might include a new name! That is all.
our Favorite Bassist,
Nate O.O
I have a bit more to add to that, we finally have the stuff back to record! I don't think we have enough songs worthy of being on our cd, but we'll probably do one or 2 so people can hear us. We've been writing some new stuff, and it's sounding pretty sweet. Nate should be putting up some pics, but his parents play spider solitaire far to ofter, so he doesn't have much oppurtunity. We still don't have any solid ideas for a name, but our ideas have been getting better.

10/02/04 News by Nate!
Me and Rob started a HUGE site renovation. It'll be totally sweet! If you see something that should happen different or whatever, just talk to me at school or whatever you do. Now get out of my face!
10/02/04 News by Rob!
As Nate said, yes, we are rennovating the site. We're working on individual bios, changing out of a black and white text format, getting some pics up, and overall making the site look better. In band news, Butch is probably coming back, Zach is doing stuff on keyboard, Alan is doing stuff on the trombone, Quinn is doing stuff on the tuba, and everything is going pretty well. As soon as we can teach everyone their parts, we will really be in business. We've got probably our strongest lineup yet. We might change our name in the near future, there aren't any big ideas yet though. As for the E.P., Brad still has my adaptor, so we can't record anything yet. I don't think we could organize it at this point anyways though. We've been working on a few new songs as well. We finished a new song, "I don't know". There should be many more following it.
9/25/04 Quistix Mixbrad is here!
Well, it's been almost 2 months since the last update. That show mentioned didn't go over too well, Perry's relatives were the only ones who came. We finally found a trombone player, and sadly, Butch had to quit to focus on school more. Right now we are trying to plan a giant show sometime in the next few months.
8/5/04 The Gum Disease Gingivitus!
We are setting up some new shows coming up in september, check the shows section for those. We are on the look for trombone and trumpet players, as none of our guys have really worked out. If your interested email one of the guys in the band (contact page) and we'll do that. We are planning some increasingly wierd antics for the show on the show on the 7th, the likes of which is going totally going to rock everyone's pocket's inside out.
7/29/04 Bran 3.0!
The show coming up on Saturday got moved back a week, but the rest of the info should stay the same, with the exception of the re-addition of the Grams and the possible loss of HBT, but we all hope they can make it. With it being a week later, we not only get our horns, we also get our world class roadie, Frank Zigmunt! Cameron decided he didn't have enough time, so we now have Kevin on trumpet instead. We will probably get our new trombone in time for the show, but it's not a sure thing. We also might get another trumpet, but chances are that we won't have either trumpet for the show. Even if we only have the 2 saxes, it'll still be a rockin' time, so be sure to come out for it.
7/26/04 Bran 2.0!
Just a small update, but I felt it was necessary. We now have Cameron on Trumpet. We will be getting another one by wednesday too, but he possibly won't be able to make the show. Interestingly enough, these people will all be at a church camp activity on the day of the concert: Dane, Taylor(our would be new trumpet), Jake, and Brady. Brady gets back in time for the concert though,(hopefully). Jake had to leave for some reason, but hopefully we can get a new trombone playser soon. We already have 2 candidates for it, so things aren't looking too bad. Brady might have to miss the show, but we're trying to work something out. The Grams won't be playing the show anymore, unfortunately. Our EP promised by fall or something should actually start to be worked on soon.
7/25/04 Bran!
We got the details worked out for the show on the 31st, check the shows page for the details. We are hoping to get a video of it, or at least a recording. Ryne will be ready for the show, but there are still a few other things to work out. This will be our first show in 2 months, so be sure to come out and see it.
Count Dracula says: "Buckle Up!"
7/20/04 P Chem!
I have recieved word that our bassist sadly, is moving. He still has a while here, but he will be moving quite a ways away. Ryne will assume those duties. He's learned most of the stuff and will have the rest within a week, so we're not too bad off for that. I've been thinking of recruiting a full time keyboard player, but that probably won't happen. Jesse will be rejoining us on Alto sax instead of Baritone (which he was before). We are planning some events coming up, so come out and see us. I will keep the shows page posted as to when those are.

7/04/04 It's the Summer of Ska! (Too bad it's cancelled :( )
The updating program was offline for a while, but now it's back. We've done many things since the last update. Look around to see what's new. We might also be doing some shows in the next few months. We lost a few people as well, but now it's just the people who can/will play, not just the ones who want to be in a band.
Put down the duckie if you wanna play the saxaphone.
4/19/04 Getting down to business
We're finally getting some serious practicing done. Today we got Makena on trumpet, after long months of searching for someone. Hayden has learned most of our stuff now, and I found 3 old songs that we wrote a long time ago but never learned. We will be learning these shortly. Brady and I also wrote some new songs. Almost done with the history page, but I'm putting it up anyways. We sure did a number on Brady's new neighbors the other day with Pepper Ann and other related nonsense. They enjoyed it. . . .
Voynz 389 shall rule all.
4/4/04 Hay-ay-ayden!
Today we got Hayden, our new second guitarist. I'm now picking up keyboard part time as well. Also, when school starts next year, we get Quinn on tuba. This is gonna be 10 people, :'+>. We're going to learn some covers now, and I've also been working on a new song.
A healthy smile is a happy smile! :)
3/27/04: HBT is back!
HBT is back, and we will probably do some shows with them coming up. Mainly bugs worked out on this update. We've got a new song in the writing stages, and it's sounding good so far. Added the links page. Butch is thinking about trading in his guitar for a trombone or trumpet.
7<2!!
3/22/04: We're still here
No major changes, but we are now Frank Zigmunt and the Planeteers! Baritone sax is a yes! He will join us shortly. We're starting some recording for our an ep, which I expect to be finished around the beginning of June. We've been messing around with some names, but have not found anything we really liked yet.
Flying goose kicks leopard in face!
3/14/04: We've got a message board!
That's right folks, there's now a message board. We lost Joey, but he never came to practice anyways. Might get a Baritone Sax soon.
Anyone who likes pirates or samurai should have their face grated off. Ninjas totally own them any day of the week.
2/21/04: The first real update. Huzzah!
Everything is finally up to date, and it looks like we might be getting some shows soon.
He who likes Emma Watson shall be smitten.
