Tree Good's Poetry

The requirements and an example of a poetry form every month!

The Language Of Poetry Forms

If you are looking for a poetry form click on "Index of Forms" in the navigation bar to the left.

About the book:

While researching the various forms of poetry, I came across hundreds of books and websites. Many of these gave differing opinions. In presenting these forms, I went with a "Majority Rules" guideline. This book is not the end result of that research because there can be no end while avant-garde poets compose.

What's Inside:

Within these pages you will find; simple definitions of the terms used in poetry, 75 different forms with the requirements for each of them, my own original example of each form and an ending chapter about
Riddle Rhymes.

About Riddle Rhymes:

Some poets will dismiss Riddle Rhymes as just "fluff"
and not REAL poetry at all.

I have included this section in my book because I disagree
with that. My love
for poetry began with, "As I was going
to St. Ives, I met a man with ..." and though
that is a riddle rhyme,
it also IS real poetry.
It takes a lot of hard work to create a good riddle rhyme!
This is why I
chose to include a whole chapter on it and
after all -
What better way is there to spark a child's
interest in the art of poetry?
