MSTalkIt - Years ago my daughter received an email from a friend that included an interesting program called TALKIT.
The program is a voice machine. It synthesizes the words typed onto the screen and at the push of a button words are spoken. There are 20 voices and various controls to achieve just the affect you're looking for. Click the image to get a better look. It's fun for children of all ages, 4 to 80. For young ones, it aides in the understanding of the spoken word through writing. It was free to download 10 years ago and it's still freely distributed. MOWA is the best interactive website for kids that I've ever come across. It welcomes its guests by name and poses various games and web tricks. It's a must-see for kids 5 to 12.
Destination Modern Art is a colorful flash website that will keep any child glued to the screen. It is interactive and educational too.
Wonderful Crafts can be achieved by watching these mini-video clip instructions. There are quite a number of fun and decorative ideas. I particularly like "Lighthouse in a Bottle" and "Ice Cream in-a-Bag".
